Holy Cross Hospital
Let me begin by saying this review is in regard to the specific ER Staff , for this visit, on this date (3/7/17). I can not speak on anything other than this as this is as far as I've gotten at this time. My Mom was transported to this facility by ambulance around 9pm. Upon her arrival she was immediately greeted and triaged by Louis and Nancy. Both spoke to the patient respectfuly and in very comforting tones which calmed my mother immensely while they performed their duties. She was then visited by 4th yr med student Rojay, a very polite, eager young man who displayed compassion, empathy, humor and a yearning to learn .Physcian Assistant Matthew E. spoke with me before, during, and after all procedures performed, speaking in medical terms followed by layman's terms to ensure I completely understood everything that transpired. Mike did the repeated EKG test. He also was very professional yet personable, as well as the two young ladies doing Xray that night/morning. Our nurse, Rinku (I know it's spelled wrong, sorry), was the absolute best, checking on Mom almost every 15 minutes or so. It is now 5:53 am , Mom is sleeping, I'm napping on and off as we wait for a bed and transport upstairs. 9am and Anthony is here to transport. This young man is so funny and encouraging, putting everyone at ease. We arrived safely and relaxed to room 545 (now the staff for this area is a whole different story, and I'm going to leave it alone... for now). Overall this was the best ER experience we've had, and believe me there has been many, at various hospitals. So I close this review thanking all involved in caring for Leonia Martin this night, you are all PRICELESS.

Mount Sinai Hospital
Im surprised im giving it 3 out of 5 stars because thats more than half and ihad good and bad experiences at this hospital the bad is when you go in as a trauma patient which i was they take good care of your needs right away only when your done and in your room healing you get a call button and that call button got shut off everytime another trauma patient came in and that was ALOT! Okay second they have some great doctors specially for physical therapy and outpatient but when i eas getting emitted in i was already in pain and traumatized and i had some p.o.s asain doctor who had no patience and i felt was there to just do a job but not take into mind that were still people and we have feelings. I will say one thing tho i couldn't even stand on my feet when i was emitted but literally months later i was walking in a walking casts and today im all good so they did take care of buisness and im not gonna blame the whole hospital for one no good Doctor. Would i go back?depends for what i suppose!

My mother received wonderful care here. The nurses are very caring and helpful. The doctor was very willing to hear my concerns and answer any questions. The other staff, including the caseworker were always professional and compassionate. I wasn't able to be there as much as I would have liked and was grateful for the consistent quality of care. (Building is in need of serious rehab--but didn't change the care she got.)

Northwest Medical & Urgent Care Center
It is the place where you need to go if you need any urgent or regular medical services. The staff are amazing. Dr. Khamis was very nice and caring physician. He addressed all my questions and concerns. He has very nice bedside manners and sense of humor. They really care and helpful when it comes to the financial issues. I highly recommend this place to every one.

Good people and kind this place is also very clean. Please don't worry about spending a lot of money there, they good and expensive food. We really like the private rooms and they have free transportation, will pick you from home and take you back. The staff are nice people and so far seems to know about what and when to do it.

I'm leaving today going home and I just wanted you to know how kind and professional the staff were. The rooms are private and large, I enjoyed my meals also. Before leaving I was giving two large red bags and a nice pill box . I don't ever want to return to any hospital but I had to it would be your location.

Woodlawn Health Center Cook County
This clinics' staff seems to be set in the wrong neighborhood. They are loud and unprofessional. On the up-side the wait is never too long and the bathrooms are always well kept. The nurses seem to be knowledgable and friendly. But overall this staff belongs in a back of the yards neighborhood.

You guys were extremely helpful with the choices we before my brother left. We had a clear understanding of medication and insurance which we really wasn't that sure about. Care was good but having a clear understanding of what the future hold was great.
Tips & Advices
Academic medical centers provide the widest range of specialty care treatments, including the latest technological advances, clinical trials, and surgical techniques. In general, an academic medical center is a better choice than a community hospital for complicated treatments or rare diseases. Pediatric intensive care, especially, is usually performed at academic medical centers.
Academic medical centers offer a broad range of specialized services, from allergists to urologists. Some of the larger medical centers have entire hospitals or clinics focused on a particular medical service, such as cancer treatment, though specialties vary among the centers. Patients whose community hospital or local doctors do not have the facilities or expertise to address complex medical conditions can be referred by their primary care physician or local specialist to a major medical center (there are more than a dozen in the United States).
Yes. In addition to their inpatient hospital services, medical centers can offer a wide variety of outpatient services, such as pain clinics, rehabilitation centers, surgery, imaging and laboratory, mental health treatment, and outpatient cancer treatment. Medical groups – doctors in private practice but affiliated with the medical center--will also have offices within the medical center.
Physicians, nurses, physician’s assistants, residents, and attending physicians makeup the clinical staff of an academic medical center.
Medical center accreditation is not required, but most centers work voluntarily toward accreditation because it represents higher standards of healthcare quality and patient safety.
