IT Takes A Village At River City
My son started at ITAV when he was 9 months old. He is 16 month now. Wow, we all love this daycare! His infant class teacher was Ms. Tonia, I have to give two thumbs up to Ms. Tonia. She was very patient and taking good care of kids - I mean all the kids in her class. Giving a detailed child daily report made me feel I didn't miss anything when I was in the office during the day. My son moved to toddler class weeks ago, he also adjusted so well with new teachers and new classmates. He is happy to be there every morning. I highly recommend this daycare to anyone if you are looking for a good one in the neighborhood.

I love, love, love ITaV! I cannot say enough about the teachers, classrooms and programming. My daughter has been attending for almost 10 months now (she's 13 months old) and has learned so many new skills. She is super social and comfortable going to anyone when we are at family functions. Unlike other 13 month olds, she is not fearful of new people and though happy to be with me and dad, she is also happy to be with other people. She walks everywhere, waves, says hi and bye bye...all because of ITaV. I love that the center is academic-based and that she has daily 'lessons' with her three trustworthy and caring teachers. They are accommodating to her dietary needs and responsive to requests that I have made. Overall I am very impressed with ITaV!

We've been going to ITAV for six months now, since my daughter was three months old. We really love it - her teachers are great, and she really seems to enjoy interacting with her classmates. The cost is actually pretty reasonable compared to other day cares in the area. We were concerned at first since it was the only one we visited without a waiting list, but that is probably because they have several infant classes instead of just one. We're going to be moving out of the neighborhood soon, but we're planning on keeping her there because we like it so much (and because it will be difficult to pick her up by 6:00 if we choose any of the day cares in our new neighborhood)!

Bad staff, bad policies, programs offers are not true, my family and my friend's family were unhappy. There are good programs elsewhere, try another company.

My eldest has been at ITAV since he was 4 months old and is now heading to Kindergarten in the fall. My twins have also been at ITAV since they were 4 months old and will be starting the pre-school program in the fall. We have been very pleased with the school. All of the teachers know them and are genuine in their concern when my children have a problem and their celebration of my children's accomplishments. The directors have been classroom preschool teachers and understand the classroom environment. ITAV is a nurturing environment that is also intellectually stimulating for young learners.

As working parents, it's challenging to find a daycare with staff members who you feel are truly invested in your child's care and development. But that is what we found at It Takes a Village at River City.We first dropped our daughter off when she was 16 weeks old. That was five years ago. Since that day, we have developed positive working relationships with her teachers and administrators by asking questions, raising concerns and, most of all, listening to and respecting one another. We receive valuable and regular feedback about our daughter's development (cognitive, motor, social/emotional) and timely responses to any issues that arise. When she occasionally bore the brunt of another child's challenging social/emotional phase -- which happens in every daycare setting -- they were very thoughtful in addressing and managing the situation, which had a positive outcome for everyone involved. Our daughter is confident, curious and happy kid. She has thrived at ITAV. I have recommended ITAV to several friends and will continue to do so without reservation.

After more than 8 months at ITAV, we're very pleased with the facility. My son has moved up to a toddler room, and his days are filled with lots of friends and fun activities. Despite the disastrous Christmas pageant (picture 12 toddlers crying while Deck the Halls played... it was hilarious), he's continuing to learn songs and games that I can play with him at home. When I arrive for pick up during Spanish class or reading time, I'm always amazed that the teachers have corralled all the little ones into a nice straight line and have their full attention. I felt they handled an unexpected staffing change in our classroom with tact and think our new teachers are a great addition.

I do not claim to be an expert about daycare b/ c this is my 1st kid and my 1st daycare. My overall impression of ITAV is good. They saved my life in August when i went back to work. Finding daycare that takes infants (mine was 5 months) is difficult and even when you do they put you on a list, ITAV was so new there was no list and they are still expanding their infant wing. The 1st week I had some concerns and we addressed these w/ the teacher. She took our concerns VERY seriously and it has not been a problem again. I took a sheet of what I wanted/didn't want for my babe & they posted it on the wall:) I'm not there to make sure they follow it but it made me feel better.I recommended this DC to a lot of people I work with (my work is near here) and 3 of my co-workers infants are at ITAV. We are all teacher at a high school and we all are happy w/ ITAV.

My son has been attending ITAV since he was 4 months old, he is now 4 1/2 years old. Before selecting ITAV my husband and I toured 2 additional centers in various areas of the city. I remember the first couple of weeks being very hard, dropping off my baby with new people. However, within the first month it was very clear how much his teachers cared for him. Over the next couple of years, it became obvious how much EVERYONE at the center cared for him. He walks down the halls to this day and each classroom and/or person he passes says hi to him. Not only has ITAV provided a second home for my son (think about how many hours are spent here each week), but they are constantly teaching him.The curriculum for each classroom level has been tremendous; from a regular eating/sleep schedule, potty training, writing, sight & see words, etc. Each month focuses on a different theme/lesson. I am always so excited to hear about what he has learned during the month. In addition, there are great age appropriate field trips throughout the year. I have volunteered for a lot of the field trips and have found it a great experience to get more time with the teachers and other students, who are my son's friends.Overall, we could not be happier with our choice of ITAV.

The Village was an awesome experience for our now five year old when he was 2/3 in the Butterfly and Rainbow rooms. This year we returned to the Bumblebee room with a new infant! It's like coming home to a family we love. Excellent care, strong curriculum, great communication!
