Unique Hardwood Flooring Chicago
I recently needed hardwood flooring installed in a condo unit so I asked aroud. A coworker of mine told me that Unique Hardwood Flooring Chicago had done some work for him and he was happy with the work. I trust word of mouth more than reviews so I had them come out to give me an estimate. Needless to say I had them start the work. I was surprised at how quick they were but more surprised at how effecient they were. I love the flooring. I am pleased with everybody that I met from there. I highly recommend Unique Flooring for new hardwood flooring installation. I will try them on hardwood floor refinishing soon in another unit. I will report my news on that work as well.

Gigi's Flooring Inc
My floors look amazing! I love them! Gigi personally came and installed them and he was so friendly and helpful. He installed my floors so quickly and made sure he cleaned up after hisself. He even went the extra step to give me instructions on how to maintain and clean the floors making sure they would not be destroyed. I will be recommending him to anybody I know that is looking to get their floors done with quality and an afforable price.

Unique Hardwood Flooring Chicago
Our floors needed some refinishing work done due to major scratches and every day use. After reading some reviews I decided to meet with Mike and get his opinion on what needs to be done. He explained everything very thoroughly and gave me a great price. I decided to use his company and I wasn't disappointed. They also cleaned up very well once the job was completed. I was very pleased. Thank you.

Gigi did an unbelievable job refinishing the floors throughout the house (they were not in the best condition). I came home to a clean house every day! His work is great and his pricing is fair. We are having hardwood installed in the kitchen and definately want Gigi to do the job.

Tips & Advices
In most states, contractors are required to have a license before taking a job. Some states also require registration. To be licensed, contractors must pass an exam and meet certain qualifications that prove he or she is a competent flooring contractor. Registration is simply a list of who will be performing a job.
The time it takes to install flooring depends on the type of flooring and the size of the room or rooms involved in the project. In one day, a typical contractor can usually install up to 2,000 square feet of carpet, 600 square feet of hardwood or laminate, or 400 square feet of tile or stone.
  • Do you have a professional license, insurance, and a business liability policy?
  • Who will work on the project?
  • Do you subcontract, and do you screen workers and have insurance policies to cover them?
  • Do you have references or examples of your work I can see?
  • Do you charge for an in-home estimate?
  • What type of flooring is best for my home in terms of architectural consistency, environmental influences (such as whether a certain type of flooring will be affected by humidity in my area), and durability?
Legally, insurance is not necessary, but it's a good idea for flooring contractors to have it. When hiring a flooring contractor, ask whether the business is insured. If it's not, consider that a red flag.
A flooring contractor should know the pros and cons of each flooring option. These might include pricing, time of installation, durability, and average lifespan of the material.
