B & L Automotive Repairs Inc
I'd first like to start off by saying 5 stars just simply isn't enough for this place. So I came to Chicago to attend my friends wedding. I rented a Cadillac CTS Coupe on Turo. I parked my car right in front of the Chicago History Museum. It's 12pm mind you and the street is moderately busy. I was in the museum about an hour. I go back out to my car to add more time only to discover that some human trash had busted out my window and stolen my backpack with some expensive items. After dealing with the police and Turo, my next goal is to get the window fixed as fast as possible. I drive to B&L and sit down with a representative. After explaining my situation to the rep Gino the owner is nearby and hears the conversation. He understood it was a time sensitive issue and took over the interaction. He immediately had someone on the phone that had the part in stock and I got it replaced quickly and painlessly. I am very thankful for his exemplary customer service even though I was not doing business directly with him. If I ever come back to Chicago and need anything automotive done I will come see him for sure. Gino is a very trust worthy and outstanding business owner. He does it right. Thank you Gino!

Gold Coast Auto Body
I'm giving this 1 star too many. Gold Coast Auto Body is a total fraud. I went in for a quote after the front bumper of my Civic Si was backed into. The estimator told me that I needed a new bumper and grill and quoted me a starting price of $1,280 that could potentially go up from there. I suggested that it just needed a couple of the broken L-shaped clips in the front replaced, but the estimator dismissed this thought immediately. He then claimed that the entire sides of my bumper were stripped and that it was unfixable. After I did my own investigation, I ended up buying replacement OEM L-clips and repaired the bumper myself for a total of $80 plus 1 hour of work. The estimator's claims of my bumper being stripped turned out to be completely fabricated. The grill was still fully in tact as well and clearly didn't need to be replaced. Either the estimator was completely negligent and terrible at his job, or Gold Coast Auto Body tries to con people into spending needless money on a regular basis. I would put all $1,200 that I saved on the latter.

These people are not professional. They have shady practices. They are not honorable people. It's companies like this that make other legitimate companies look bad

B & M Auto Collision Center
Got rear ended and had b and m did the repairs. When doing the repairs they fried the components in my amp because they probably didn't properly insulate my amp while welding, or at least that's what my dealership said. Now I'm out almost $3000 dollars cause my insurance won't cover it because it can't be related to the accident, my factory warranty won't cover it because it's the internals of the amp, and nobody can give me direct proof that they did it, so I can't make them fix it.
Tips & Advices
Using a variety of tools and processes, many of which require specialized training, auto body mechanics primarily repair cosmetic and structural damage to vehicles after accidents occur. They can also enhance a vehicle’s appearance and performance by replacing and adding new parts to a vehicle’s body.
This depends on the severity of the work that needs to be done. Something such as paintless dent repair for a few small dents can take an hour. Whereas auto body repairs for damages caused by a major accident can take multiple days to correct.
All auto body parts can be repaired but there is a threshold for the level of repairs possible. Parts can be damaged beyond repair and would need to be wholly replaced.
Auto body parts can be made from a wide variety of materials, usually based on what the part’s purpose is. Vehicle frames body panels, bumpers, roof racks, and other items that need to be strong and durable are usually constructed from steel, which is known for its durability and resistance to rust and high temperatures. But aluminum is quickly becoming a popular material of construction due to its lightweight yet durable nature. Body kits and other aftermarket parts like spoilers and hoods can be constructed from one form of plastic or another.
Yes, the vast majority of car makes and models have aftermarket parts available for many of their components. But higher-end vehicles typically have less aftermarket parts available since they often use specialized materials and manufacturing processes that are difficult to duplicate for many aftermarket manufacturers.
