My first visit is just that: first in a long line of many. Lying back in the ergonomic chairs in a cave made of white sea salt, you close your eyes and the music and the sounds of beach birds take you to a peace-filled place. What a delight!

Moved in the neighborhood several months ago and found this spa. I have massages monthly and am use to paying gold coast prices usually a little over $100 plus tip. Prices here are reasonable, the space is huge and the decor is tranquill and relaxing. I have had several different massage therapist's, I can't pick a favorite they are all amazing. Last week I went in and got the Sidda body detoxification massage, it was the best massage I have ever expierenced. This massage is a body treatment and massage all wraped up in one. Using herbs and essential oils they roll a warm heated pouch over the body then wrap you up. They said this helps with the detoxification process. After they unwrap you the massage begins and they massage the herbal oil into your skin. This massage is two treatments in one at $130 for an hour and a half and is worth every penny. Spa soak is a great place, I can't wait for my next visit. .

This spa is a hidden gem in the northside of Chicago! I first discovered this place when taking a stroll through the neighborhood and decided to try the organic facial. It was the greatest facial ever - my esthetician was very knowledgeable and her touch was perfect. She took the time to explain in detail how to best take care of my acne-prone skin. I walked out with a flawless face and have bee hooked ever since!

I have been to several, what are called ""medical spa's"" over the past year or so. This is the first one that truly lives up to that name. I went there originally for a Pretty in Pink promotion, and have been back several times since. They have this integrative component that provides many services. I have been to their esthetician Jessica. She has helped me with my skin in many ways. I have also seen on of the doctors there, Doctor Summers for my spider veins, which are now gone. Overall a very pleasent, professional experiance

After moving to Chicago I was referred to Elina's Advanced Skin Care Spa by a friend. Nadia gave me a 90 minute treatment. She knew exactly how to treat my skin, and my face felt absolutely amazing! Nadia was very personable and friendly throughout my whole experience. I've been using the organic products for a month now and my skin looks great! I am looking forward to my next facial!

I love this place because they are cheap and they allow walk ins. I go there sometimes when I am visiting clients in Wicker Park. They don't take credit cards which is a shame, but they don't charge very much either. An hour of table massage is about 60 bucks and a facial is less than that. If you call for an appointment ask for Connie. She is so sweet and cute and she does the best job.

Lenny's the best stylist I've had. His haircuts last for a good while and grows out well which is great for a new mom with not much to time to escape from the little one. If you sign up with their loyalty program, you get a special treat for your birthday (manicure, makeover, custom foundation). This offer may/not still be around. Still, the price of the cut is well worth the stylishness and the fact it grows out well.

Yana at Kiva Salon at Macy's on State Street does the best eyebrow waxing. She pays attention to detail and is very nice. Someone messed up my eyebrows and she was able to fix them as they grew back. I have been going to her for about four years. She is the best!

I wanted to share my positive experience at So Lux, when entering the doors, there's a genuine feeling of warmth and welcome. I would like to praise the whole staff and Angelica, the manager, for excellent service. Everyone is attentive, accommodating, pleasant and professional. They are truly a special group and provide exemplary care in performing their jobs. My experience has been very positive and I would recommend So Lux to everyone. I'm already on my 4th laser treatment for my whole body and I am delighted with the treatment that I received and the results. I feel like a brand new, confident woman and Angelica is my angel sent from heaven. Also, the Microdermabrasion treatments are phenomenal. I already had two and it's a great feeling when people actually see the difference. I received many compliments regarding my skin, it looks great and I'm shining with a glow. I will most definitely be a long time client of So Lux. Keep up the great work ladies!

Sorry, I can't give this place a good review. I made an appointment for a Saturday morning. They were nice on the phone and lady assured me that I would love the clinic. I arrived 15 minutes early. I kind of found the waiting room on my own as the receptionist was getting things ready for the day. After waiting 35 minutes the receptionist came into the room and said ""she's running a little late cause of traffic"". I then sat in the room for an additional 25 minutes and eventually while no one approached me with an update. There were no other clients in the clinic so it wasn't like they were busy. I ended up walking out. I never received a phone call of apology or anything. Overall, I would not feel comfortable with anyone there working on my skin if they don't care enough be on time or acknowledge me. Basically they ruined my Saturday.

I went in to get my hair cut after being given a four part gift certificate. I sat down and was told to look through books to find a style I liked. I already knew what I wanted but I did it anyways. The hair stylist was late and after she came in all frantic and finally settled down she came over and got me. She smelled like B.O. Another girl came over and had to explain the cut to her in another language. How unprofessional. The girl looks at me and says, "" I think she got it, hopefully"" and walked away. After 45 minutes she turns me around and my graduated bob had a mullet on the bottom. I was so annoyed I said I liked it and left. I ended up having to go to Great Clips to have them fix it. I still have 3 more parts to the certificate but I think I'll call it a wash and not ever bother. It may look pretty but it is so amature!

I would not recommend working with this company. They put me through a lot of unnecessary stress chasing them down and trying to figure out details with them. The day of my wedding, the makeup/hair people were also mean and rude for reasons I still don't understand. We were all pretty dumbfounded by it. My hair was done by Amanda and Kaillez was the makeup artist. Kaillez brushes and makeup did not look very clean which was concerning. I didn't end up going through with the makeup session on my wedding day because the makeup artist was really mean to my bridesmaids and I didn't feel like I should go through that, when I told the company about it, their response was that they don't care and will not refund me because I left a review of my experience on yelp. This is kind of telling of how ethical they are. All of my other vendors seemed like they just love working with people to make their day special, but this was the opposite at Appease, I just don't think they care much about it at all, they just want to make money. If you want to avoid stress on your wedding day I would avoid working with Appease.
