My friend and I went here for lunch on St. Patrick's Day. We sat at the bar and the bartender was friendly and talkative. I had the half slab of ribs with 2 sides and went with baked beans and corn bread. Very generous portion and the sides were the perfect compliment to the spicyness of the ribs. The cornbread was especially tasty. And even going with only the half slab I still had 4 ribs to take home and eat later. My friend had the baked salmon and he really enjoyed his lunch too. The menu was large and we were surprised at the variety of dishes they offered as we thought it was just a bbq joint. Our bartender even offered us a complimentary dessert after lunch, but as we hadn't saved any room we decided to take her up on Jameson shot on the house instead since it was St. Pats! I really enjoyed dining here! It was also nice they had a free parking lot in the back.

I am a huge fan of Smoque but always open to try new places. A friend and I went to Smoke Daddy one night and it was very good. The ribs were very good and the beans were great. Their beans are better then smoques and the best I have had. If you are a bbq fan you shouldn't miss Smoke daddy.\r \r Enjoy

I have had them all over town and Lem's is still the king. A unique tangy sauce with a hint of clover and just a bit of heat slathered on tender rib tips or a more chewy st. louis style rib. If you like meat falling off the bone go for the tips or head to Chilis. Instead of getting the standard preparation of meat packed on top of the fries and white bread - get the meat on the side w. extra sauce. This keeps the oil smell from the fries from infiltrating the main event. Prepare for a drive thru some sketchy areas but the people at Lem's are great. Beware of getting a bad batch of yesterday's ribs by heading in too early in the shift - but prime time lems is an experience any bbq afficianato would treasure.

A unique, historic dining room is pleasantly separate from the also-friendly piano bar area. The food (we had fish, pork, lamb, and steak at our table) was excellent, and well complemented by a variety of bread. The calamari fritti appetizer was also exquisite. Our server was very attentive to our needs, and our glasses were always full. Creme brulet and ice cream were beautifully presented and delicious.\r \r The dining room would be suitable for quiet children with ""restaurant manners,"" but there is also an outdoor patio (with bar), which was still open at the end of September. The main dining room would be a perfect choice for a business dinner.\r \r Overall, this is perfect neighborhood restaurant, and we greatly appreciated the free valet.

Laymon's bbq is the go to spot for ribs. Their ribs are tender, juicy, and the sauce is great. I'm n love with their pork links as well. Their meals really hit the spot and it definitely leaves you satisfied. I have aso tried two sides which was the corn on the cob and turkey bake beans. The corn on the cob was a deep fried wonder and the bake beans were great.

17.Song DO Inc
4918 N Lincoln Ave
This Korean BBQ Buffet, may be a good choice for a novice to Korean food. Every table has a personal BBQ (and, if your lucky) there are even semi-private rooms 1st-come 1st-serve. There are a small number of so-so traditional cold appetizer starters (eg. Kim Chi) and warm soup. Then, you may choose among short-ribs, marinated and non-marinated beef, and chicken Kabobs, to grill at your table, along with some limited sauces and garnishes (eg. Lettuce, cucumbers, shredded onion, korean radish strips, etc.). Unfortunately, no squid or other seafood. Service was very friendly and attentive. Free Korean Barley tea, or BYOB is ok (though they offer Korean vodka ""SoJu"" and Korean Beer). $15.99/pp. Ok, but there are better Korean restaurants -- esp. Kang Nam.

Love uncle Joe's, don't love this location. The Hyde Park location is the worse. The chicken is generally less seasoned in the Hyde Park location, so don't look for it to be on par with the other locations. I order trays for football and boxing events. Well, this last time was terrible. \r \r Part 1: They told me 15-20min on my small tray order. I'm a patient person, so 10 min over wouldn't bother me. But, my order took an hour. This was a Sunday night right before the Bears game so I remember vividly because I was hosting a party. Needless to say, I was late for my own party. \r \r Part 2: When I got home, after a 2-3 people grabbed a few pieces, there was no more wings or breast. Yes, you heard me right, all legs and thighs in this tray. \r \r Part 3: Called them to complain. This is why I'm writing this review. The manager told me that he would look into my experience. I mentioned to him that I regularly throw parties and order the trays. Well, he looked into the matter and basically told me his staff said I didn't have to wait an hour and they a adequate amount of white meat in the order. Of course they did. That's when I offered to give them proof of the time. He said, not needed, he'll look into the matter further. I have not heard from him again (over a week later). \r \r I'm extremely frustrated because that tray cost me over $40 bucks and I didn't have one piece of chicken. My advice, go to the other Joe's on 83rd and cottage or stony island. If not that, go to tropic island at 419 E. 79th, JR's Jerk at 51 E. 51st, or Jamaican Jerk at 6500 S. Cottage. I will never, go to Hyde Park again. One more that I forgot to mention, Ja Grill on the Northside - 1008 W. Armitage, food is great and they have excellent service, plus they have a DJ on the weekend.\r

Owner promised me my money back after food delivery was attempted at my house but delivery person never rang my doorbell. Instead he called my cell phone three times, then left when I didn't answer, even though I gave clear instructions to ring the bell. So I never received the food. Yet, I've still not seen the money put back on my credit card.
