Kool Smiles of Chelsea
I had a really bad experience about 2 years ago with getting a tooth extracted. I was hesitant to go to ANY dentist. I finally got the courage to call kool smiles to try to be seen as a walk-in emergency visit. I had called the 800 # and was told that the Chelsea location had emergency walk-ins available at 9am and 2pm,and she told me tjat she would be sending a message to the odfice so they could expect me. I got there at about 1:50 and they told me thay theu don't actually have an emergency walk-in service. Joanna (DA) came up the the desk and said that they would see me regardless. I waited about 10 minutes and was called right in. I explained to her my nervousness and why I was so nervous. She assured me that they would make me as comfortable as I needes to be so that I didn't have the same experience. I got my filling replaced (it had fallen out about a month prior and started getting pain in my tooth) joanna and Dr. Jung kept making sure that I was ok and comfortable and it was done in a matter of a half hour. Thank yoi Joanna and Dr. Jung for maki g this the BEST dental expirence ever. I definitely plan on making them my dentist and place to go to for good. You guys ROCK !!!!!!

I couldn't be more proud of my Kellsie Boo. Yesterday we had to go to the dentist because part of her filling fell out. When they told me they would be giving her Novocaine i started to panic because the out come would not be pleasant. All that went through my head was she will be so traumatized i will never be able to get her to go back. Well they explained that first they will be giving her nitrous oxide to calm her then the needle.. I was panicking even more at this point ready to be sick.. I had to sign a waiver which made it worse. Then came the lovely smell of strawberry's.. She huffed & puffed away and slowly but surely the giggles started. The doc said Kellsie how are you feeling, her word's (i'm feeling very happy) hee hee hee. We all started cracking up.. Then came the needle. She made one tiny little owe sound and he said Kellsie what did u feel.. She giggled once again and said i don't know.. Ha ha ha.. Well my nerves calmed down instantly and she was a happy girl. On the way home she just kept saying i love my dentist Mama and Lisa his helper.. They even gave her the little red mask she was breathing into to take home.. Still smells like strawberry's lol...

Staff and facility are amazing for kids. Loved being able to have 4 kids scheduled at the same time. Didn't like being there 2+ hours, but the time was worth it.....my kids could be just that KIDS and it was more than accepted, with the playroom and coloring tables, my kids didn't want to leave! They were loud and active and greeted with smiles by staff, while making friends with other children waiting their turn. Nadege, the dental assistant, is AMAZING and should be requested by name if possible if you are new to facility. Downfall....they do not offer any pretreatment medication for extensive work. Bringing in 4 yr old kids for caps....as a mom and having older children that have had non 'drugged' dental work and 'drugged' work....VIP for medication for this mom. Staff assured me my pediatrician could prescribe and I could bring in details of medication when coming in for procedure. ....my pediatrician said no way in hell and sent me elsewhere for the preschoolers. As for my older children, we WILL remain at Kool Smiles Chelsea.

I can't recommend Dr Padron and her team enough. Every person here is friendly, warm, knowledgeable and kind. When I first came to Dr Padron, my teeth were a cosmetic nightmare, and I had pretty profound gum disease. She made a plan for restoring my gum health and for fixing the cosmetic issues I was facing. I had a yellow crown that was bulky and oversized in my front tooth, that she convinced my insurance company to pay for replacing. She was meticulous in restoring my front tooth to beauty, and she did it! She also recommended an amazing orthodontist to me to start straightening my teeth to facilitate better flossing. She has reduced my out of pocket costs, given me an almost perfect smile, and restored my gums back to health, all while keeping me comfortable, ensuring affordability and always showing me kindness and respect. After two years I have come to love her and the entire team, and I can't tell you how thoroughly I trust them!

I've been taking my 7 year old here since she was one and now my 10 month old baby as well , staff has been awesome they are great with children and it's a very clean environment. Only thing is that on my 7 year old daughter's appointment I was told that I can bring in my baby as well as soon as he grew in his first teeth , so I called to schedule an appointment and when I tried to schedule an appointment for my baby I was told he had to be one year old and I explained to the representative that in the dental office they told me otherwise and she basically just said no that it was not true . So the following weeks I went in for my niece's appointment and I asked again to a doctor and they told me what was said the first time that as soon as his first teeth came in that he may be seen, so finally I was able to schedule my baby's appointment in the office and it went great !

I've been taking my kids to Kool Smiles for several years now. I love that it's geared toward kids and they promote independence for the kids to be seen on their own. They never push it though and let them go alone as they're ready. The facility is clean and the waiting room is large and has a little place the kids can play in. It can get a little chaotic when it's busy, but never over the top. The staff is friendly, but again when it's busy they seem to be unable to keep up with the pace. Maybe they need more staff? My only complaint is it's not a great place to be when it's busy. I've had to wait over an hour for my kids to been seen once and made for a really long visit. However, when it's not busy they are usually on time and it's pretty quick.

I have been patient a patient of Dr. Padron for a number of years. She has been educational, patient and very helpful. She is a "pro" with a state of the art equipment and a beautiful office, immaculate and well organized. If you need crowns or dentures, you will not find any one more diligent and talented. Couldn't identify the crown in the mirror, it looks so natural! The staff is extremely attentive, pleasant, friendly and professional, I even know them all on a first name basis. I highly recommend this practice for all your dental needs without question to everyone.

The staff is always friendly they take great care of my while family. Dr. Banty is great and is helpful calming down kids. Lisa and Shawn were both great keeping my daughter calm while she got her teeth worked on. She's 2 they handled it very well. All 3 of them sang and helped her get through the pain. People have to understand the key to a place like this is to make early appointments and skip school vacation times.
Tips & Advices
  • If a tooth decays and the nerves or pulp (soft internal tissue which helps teeth develop) become inflamed or infected
  • If a tooth is cracked or broken and nerves are exposed
This generally depends on any specific issues you wish to address with your teeth. There are toothpastes designed to whiten teeth, fight cavities, decrease sensitivity, prevent bad breath, resist gingivitis, and those specific to children (with lower fluoride content). There are also toothpastes that offer “complete” protection by combining aspects of many of the above toothpastes.
It’s recommended to get a professional cleaning at least two times per year.
  • Desensitizing toothpaste numbs the nerves in the teeth that can cause discomfort.
  • Mouth guard can protect against grinding teeth during sleep.
  • Fluoride treatment can be applied by dentists to sensitive areas to numb teeth and strengthen enamel.
  • Root canal can treat problems in a tooth’s core.
  • Surgical gum graft where a piece of gum tissue is removed from a section of the mouth to cover an exposed root.
Not everyone needs to have their wisdom teeth removed, but there are certain signs that can help you and your doctor determine if yours should be:
  • Wisdom teeth are pushing other teeth around, causing pain and misalignment
  • Cysts form around newly emerged wisdom teeth, causing jaw damage
  • Gums get inflamed and swollen, causing cavities and pain
  • Doctor determine from x-rays that wisdom teeth will cause problems in the near future
