YP - The Real Yellow PagesSM - helps you find the right local businesses to meet your specific needs. Search results are sorted by a combination of factors to give you a set of choices in response to your search criteria. These factors are similar to those you might use to determine which business to select from a local Yellow Pages directory, including proximity to where you are searching, expertise in the specific services or products you need, and comprehensive business information to help evaluate a business's suitability for you. “Preferred” listings, or those with featured website buttons, indicate YP advertisers who directly provide information about their businesses to help consumers make more informed buying decisions. YP advertisers receive higher placement in the default ordering of search results and may appear in sponsored listings on the top, side, or bottom of the search results page.

7.Bear's Barber Shop
3429 Alton Park Blvd2.38 mi Chattanooga, TN Barbers
What would you think of a man you'd never met, that's 6' 5", has "GIGANTUOUS" hands, is called 'Bear', and he's about to give your one-year-old his first haircut??? I wanted to say ... "AIN'T NO WAY!" But my father suggested him, so he had to be o.k. Turns out, he's great! His name should be Teddy Bear (which my son used to call him). Bear is one of the most kind-hearted and gentlest people I know...real talk. His love for God, shows in the way he treats all people, without judgment. He always lends his shop or himself to support community events. It's never done for self-glory, but because he understands that when one wins, we all win. I think he also does this because he truly believes that everyone deserves a chance at success. And yes, from time to time, a street vendor / "entertainer", comes in, but it's a neighborhood shop - what do you expect? They're more funny & social, than about business!! Just for the record, Bear is a great barber and I LLLOOVVEEE the way he arches my eyebrows. When my family began patronizing him, we could walk to his shop in 5 minutes. Since we've moved, we now drive 20+ minutes, but the distance doesn't matter, his skills and service are well worth it. It's only fair to mention the other 4 barbers there, who are just as kind and do good work, also. They've each been there for 10 years or more, with the exception of one (as of 2010). Their longevity speaks volumes about their loyalty, as well as the type of employer, Bear is to work for. Almost twenty years later, my sons (and now former husband), REFUSE to go anywhere, except Bear's - and I really can't blame them! The 2 or 3 times my sons went somewhere else, my Mother frowned and gave them money to get their hair "corrected" by Bear. By the way, thanks, Dad! (the late Robert L. Eady, Sr.) -- Donna
