Charlotte Emergency Dental Clinic
Let me start by saying I AM TERRIFIED OF THE DENTIST! However, After loosing an old filling many years ago and a divorce at the same time I just did not have "extra" funds to have medical attention. After time the tooth continued to disintegrate. I was in no pain but knew it made me uncomfortable. My now boyfriend encouraged me to have it taken care of. I had heard about EDC from a friend who had a good experience at this office, so I went.. My first visit was $80ish for the X-ray and the consult. They determined that it would be difficult to do but they were ready that moment to extract it. I had the work that day so I came back 3 weeks later to see Dr. Yu. Let me just tell you this man did an excellent job! He warned me there may be complications due to the amount of decay and that I may have to see an oral surgeon. He did it quickly with skill and precision. I felt wonderful and relieved once it was over! The price is comparable to a regular dentist so it's not cheap but he was good!!!!! The ONLY quam I have is that at the end of your visit your kinda out of it a bit and they throw a lot of info at you. It was a tidge confusing. I wish they had covered that at the beginning of the service along with detailed written medication instructions so you can look it over once your more with it. I liked the staff as well. To me it was a win/win situation!

Moore, Katy, DMD DMD
Money in hand speaks volumes if Katy Moore is to treat you. Should you not have dental insurance or have some, be sure to make payment arrangements with Vickie! The staff’s great; however, Dr. Moore takes good care of her patients when it’s a definite they can pay upfront or have backup funding. My teeth are rotting out as I write this and I'm less than happy with her on a daily basis. I’m recuperating from dental surgery done at CMC – MAIN Dentistry while I was in hospital for other reasons. I'm angry because she could have saved teeth that are now long gone. An example, I have several teeth that had cavities, said something about it to her assistant, Denise whose answer was, ‘Yes, we know.’ It was not until I was in severe pain and asked that they be treated did they do anything. God blessed me with two older brothers who pay my dental bills or I’d have no teeth at all. Be sure you can text because Dr. Moore does not answer phone calls after hours in cases of emergencies.

Brooks, Kelly, MD Kathryn J Savitsky Dental
Dr Savitsky and her staff could not be more professional, caring and most importantly, great at their jobs! The few times I have been there for all types of work, it has been a pleasant experience. She has your best interest at heart and always provides you an assessment that is the best for your health and will only do service that is necessary. It is obvious she is passionate about teeth! She even helped my 87 year old mother who had difficulty finding a dentist she could trust.I rarely endorse people unless I feel very strongly about their service and without a doubt, 100% recommend Dr Savitsky for all your dental work.

Sharma Oral Surgery Priveer D. Sharma DMD
My experience was not bad until I got home and realized they must've butchered me when removing those wisdom teeth because pain I experienced for the following week did not respond to hydrocodone, advil, Tylenol, or tramadol. I believe if the procedure had been done more carefully, so as not to strain my jaw muscles and ligaments, the outcome would've been different and recovery time as short as everyone else I asked. If you're wondering, I didn't have dry socket, I am not a smoker, I am not overweight. I am in excellent health and shape, and my recovery time should not have been as long as it was.

I had not been to a dentist in about a year and half because of a bad experience with another dentist. I had been living with tooth pain for about 9 months so I knew it was a problem. I was in severe pain and he saw me about ten minutes later. He examined me without hurting me and told me that it was going to require the tooth be pulled. They contacted an surgeon and got me in that day. After the swelling was down from the pulled tooth I was pain free for the first time in months. He when above and beyond to make me feel better as quick as possible. He is now my regular dentist

Sharma Oral Surgery Priveer D. Sharma DMD
This is my 2nd time to have Dr Sharma pull a tooth. I was so comfortable that I forgot about my debilitating fear of dentist! Dr Sharma and staff was so understanding and caring. I felt like I was a member of the family. The explanation of what they were going to do was exactly what they did... No hidden steps. My after care was just as wonderful with full explanation of after care. I also received phone calls checking on me at home. I have and will continue to refer Dr Sharma to my family and friends without hesitation.

Dr. Jay Ahuja, DDS
I had a severe tooth ache on Friday and my dentist was closed, so I called Dr Jay and came in that Saturday and had X rays to be needing a root canal. Dr. Jay had me come in Sunday at 703 am but doesn't open till 900am and did my root canal. I had severe pain but was numbed and felt very little pain. Very professional, polite, and I have decided to make Dr.Jay my new dentist and my son was so impressed that he said Dr. Jay will also be his new dentist. I highly recommend this dentist and will be back!

I arrived at the dental clinic in extreme pain and very nervous about any possible treatment. The staff was so friendly and it really put me at ease. I ended up having an extraction and they got me in immediately with no waiting. The dentists were professional and very patient as I was literally a nervous wreck! They pulled my tooth and I cried when I got to my car because I was so thankful to be relieved of the pain Id been suffering with.i would recommend this clinic to anyone needing dental care.

Aten Family Dentistry
8 years removed from visiting a dentist. Had a horrible experience. The Aten Staff was unbeleivalbe. I EXPECT them to be a good dental practice, that is what they do! I didn't expect them to be empathetic to my past experience. Dr. Dowlin & her team care!!!This was priceless to me....For a SUPERIOR dental practice with some of the most beautiful smiles I have ever seen - I recommend Aten. I feel guilty I can ONLY give you 5 stars because you certainly live up to the name:A TEN!!!

Dr. Jay Ahuja, DDS
I, too, like others had a severe tooth ache over the weekend. I called Dr. Jay on Sunday morning about 7:30 am. He called me right back and discussed the issue with me and had me come in that day (Sunday evening). He worked on my tooth (root canal and painless too).I appreciated his explanations and his common courtesy of being compassionate and understanding of the need to take care of the pain. He's my dentist from now on (and I'm traveling from Salisbury, NC).Thanks Dr. Jay!
Tips & Advices
  • If a tooth decays and the nerves or pulp (soft internal tissue which helps teeth develop) become inflamed or infected
  • If a tooth is cracked or broken and nerves are exposed
This generally depends on any specific issues you wish to address with your teeth. There are toothpastes designed to whiten teeth, fight cavities, decrease sensitivity, prevent bad breath, resist gingivitis, and those specific to children (with lower fluoride content). There are also toothpastes that offer “complete” protection by combining aspects of many of the above toothpastes.
It’s recommended to get a professional cleaning at least two times per year.
  • Desensitizing toothpaste numbs the nerves in the teeth that can cause discomfort.
  • Mouth guard can protect against grinding teeth during sleep.
  • Fluoride treatment can be applied by dentists to sensitive areas to numb teeth and strengthen enamel.
  • Root canal can treat problems in a tooth’s core.
  • Surgical gum graft where a piece of gum tissue is removed from a section of the mouth to cover an exposed root.
Not everyone needs to have their wisdom teeth removed, but there are certain signs that can help you and your doctor determine if yours should be:
  • Wisdom teeth are pushing other teeth around, causing pain and misalignment
  • Cysts form around newly emerged wisdom teeth, causing jaw damage
  • Gums get inflamed and swollen, causing cavities and pain
  • Doctor determine from x-rays that wisdom teeth will cause problems in the near future

Just a moment...
