World Claim Global Claims Management
Dealing with a fire claim is a difficult experience. Dealing with an irrational client makes that experience even more difficult and this was the case in our experience with the Holley family. WorldClaim was contacted by the Holleys to assist them with their claim through a mutual friend who recommended our services based on past experiences. We did not seek out the Holleys, they sought us out. WorldClaim sent a full team of people to meet with the insurance company’s representatives and agreed on the scope of work on both the building and contents portions of the claim and submitted estimates and inventories which accounted for the damage that we assessed. During the process we maintained a complete dialog with the Holleys and apprised them of the status of the claim and the insurance company’s offer. Through WorldClaim’s effort we nearly doubled the initial offer from State Farm. During the claim we also assisted the Holleys in dealing with their mortgage company. This service, which we provide for no fee but as a courtesy to our clients as it is a complex process, became even more complex because the Holleys were in arrears on payments to their mortgage company and the mortgage company would not deal with us directly until the mortgage company was brought current. It was this issue that caused the delay in negotiating the insurance checks, not WorldClaim’s staffs’ negligence. To the contrary, we provided accurate information to the Holleys on the status of their mortgage and worked with them and their mortgage company on an agreement to bring the mortgage current so that the settlement check could be negotiated. In my last meeting with the insurance company’s representative we had the insurance company amend the damage to the building even further. Immediately following that meeting I met with Mr. Holley to advise him of the changes to be expected in the scope of work and he was extremely happy. Upon return to my office I found that Mr. Holley terminated our services with the rationale that he was not going to pay us for the increase in his settlement that we made as a result of the last meeting. WorldClaim is currently in litigation with the Holleys over an unpaid fee which we fully expect to collect based on the services rendered and the dramatic increases we have negotiated in their settlement.

Thai Orchid Restaurant
I've been eating here for years, so some of the negative reviews really surprise. I have always found the staff at Thai Orchid to be more than gracious and attentive. They are always happy to greet you with a smile. As far as the food goes, I believe most of the dishes to be at least average or above. I definitely favor some dishes over others, but I can say that about most restaurants. I have a rotation of 4 Thai restaurants I go to depending on what I’m in the mood to eat, as some do certain dishes better than others. The dishes I order at Thai Orchid are definitely above average. I have eaten at most of the Thai restaurants in Charlotte, and I eat a lot of Thai food when I travel, so I think I have a pretty good understanding of the cuisine. I would not hesitate to recommend Thai Orchid. You can absolutely get a tasty Thai meal in a friendly neighborhood-like atmosphere.

Bentley on the 27th
Raul was our server who was superb! Perfect service. He was very attentive but not over indulging. It was my anniversary and he engaged with us and made us feel special. The food was delicious! We ordered a bottle of Pinot Noir. I had the 20oz Bison Ribeye topped with bordelaise sauce and served with bacon cheddar mashed potatoes and asparagus. I ordered my steak at a medium temperature. It was flavorful and portion sizes generous. My husband had Steak Au Poivre which was a pepper encrusted NY strip with truffle pomme frites and cognac creamed spinach. He also had the Bentley's Martini. It was so much food we couldn't eat dessert. However Raul brought out a creme brûlée for our anniversary on the house with a candle. Our bill was a little our $180 before tip but not bad for the beautiful view of the city below. Everything was well worth it! We will be back again requesting Raul!

Thai Orchid Restaurant
Having lived in the nearby apartment community, I have had the fortune to come to this restaurant or takeout regularly. Service is friendly, and food is excellent. The small location, tucked in the alleyway between Fresh market and Red Rocks allows for a nice intimate dining experience. Hopefully the new Fresh Market renovations don't destroy that atmosphere.

Skyland Family Restaurant
Not sure where the review of 12/11 went sour, but I have always had attentive service, and even asked to just have a pitcher of water left at my table because I drink it at a pace no waiter or waitress should need to pace.I think this was a one off for the previous reviewer.

Dressler's Restaurant
My wife and I had Valentine's dinner. Even though we didn't have a reservation, the manager made special accommodations for us. Food was phenomenal and the provided great service. Definitely putting Dressler's as a top pick for me.

Skyland Family Restaurant
Excellent food and excellent service. I've been going to Skyland for 10 years now. Never had an issue. It seems this mystery shopper has racial insecurities and thinks everyone is out to get him. Next time write a real review.

Jake's Good Eats
Jake's is an awesome place to eat - essentially southern favorites with a sophisticated twist. The cornmeal fried oysters are my favorite! I definitely recommend Jakes. They were even icluded in a show on Food Network!

Freedom Family Restaurant
The food is decent here and cheap. Nothing fancy at all, but lunch for two came to just over $11. We enjoyed the food and especially enjoyed the cheapness of it.

Just a moment...
