After a semi-truck hit my car the insurance company wanted to total our vehicle and refused to cover the cost of repairs. I retrieved the car and opted to pay for repairs myself. I reach out to several insurance companies who showed initial interest but then quickly lost interest, would not return my phone calls, not respond to e-mails, or would not give me a firm & final quote for repairs (even after looking inside and outside of the car). Some shops refused to work on the car because it was still in a case to be settled (maybe for total loss). I reached out to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) for recommendations and contacted all 3 companies’ leads. Deluxe Paint & Body Works was by far the most professional and responsive. I was skeptical at first but they were highly rated, responsive, gave an initial detailed quote (based on my pictures of the car), drove to the cars location (giving a verbal final quote over the phone) after assessing the damage onsite, and then then transported the car to their shop. I did have some initial communication issues around the final quote ~ for example at the bottom of the quote still said “This is a preliminary estimate. Additional charges to the estimate may be required for the actual repair”…after I was expected a final quote. I then drove directly to the shop from my office (only a couple miles from center city Charlotte). I was given a tour of their shop and noticed high end vehicles being worked on (Mercedes, BMW’s, Audi’s, etc.) which calmed my nerves. We sorted out the contract and I was very surprised the vehicle was completed in 10 days’ time (was in no hurry for repairs). I am very happy with their work and take my vehicles back in the future. Amin made this process the best experience i've ever had at ANY car dealership. For years our family has been buying cars from Merecedes, Land Rover, BMW, and Audi in Charlotte, and the service and interaction we received at CAI has gone above and beyond anything else. I was recently in a car accident in which my Audi was totaled, and I found my Volvo XC90 on Auto Trader, which was at CAI. I called to see if they still had it, as it was priced extremely competitively compared to all of the other XC90's I looked at. Amin was not by any means pushy, or like that of any other used car dealers. He put the car on hold for me until I was able to come over the next morning and see it. The car is IMMACULATE! One thing that I loved about CAI is that they buy most of their cars out of Florida, which means that they have never been driven in salt or snow, and generally never exposed to the elements that a lot of cars are. The car was spotless, and as soon as we got there, he got us the keys and let us take it on a drive by ourselves, and didn't press a time in which we needed to be back; which was so nice. When we came back, I knew that I loved the car, and we made a deal in minutes, no back and forth, just plain and simple. He was great in explaining the car's history, along with its features. I felt like it was a friend selling it to us, and I never felt as if I was being pressured or rushed into it. CAI has it down to a fine science. Later that day, we came back with a deposit, and he was great about working with us since the insurance hadn't paid out yet. I can't stress enough how professional and sharp these guys are, they really blow all other car salesmen out of the water. I would strongly encourage anyone to go to CAI and take a look, they are the only place I will be buying my cars from in the future, and I am still absolutely blown away by this experience.
After reading this company's reviews online, I called the owner, Lorenzo, to install a fuel pump on a 1996 crown vic. I told him we used a mobile mechanic last year to install a fuel pump on my son's car, and the gas gauge stopped working after they installed the pump. Lorenzo assured me he knew how to install a fuel pump without affecting the gas gauge. We agreed on 10:00 am,4/24/13. he was 10 minutes early, very polite and had purchased the part I needed. It took him about an hour and 15 min to installed the fuel pump. I paid him $100/pump +$100/labor. The car ran fine, unfortunately, the gas gauge stopped working and my "low fuel" light worked intermittently. I called Lorenzo back, told him the problem and he refused to accept responsibility. He said it must have been like that before he worked on the car. I called another mechanic to fix it; he said the arm got stuck, he stated it's a common problem while installing a fuel pump. It was a simple fix- it took him less than 20 minutes to correct. My gauge works perfectly now. I told Lorenzo I wanted 30% of the labor cost back I paid him, since I had to pay another mechanic to correct the gauge. He stated he would call me the following morning (4/25/13). I never heard back from him. While Lorenzo did a good job installing the pump, I can't give him 5 stars because of his lack to correct a simple problem and his refusal to accept responsibility for the mistake. (we all make them). I was not going to hold it against him; I just wanted him to leave the car in the same condition he found it in, not worse condition. If someone else has a similar problem, I would recommend, Ronnie @ (704)777-4419.
I recently moved out to North Carolina from California to attend college at Duke. I brought with me my car, a 2010 BMW 335i. Throughout the cars history I have done all the non warrantied repairs and upgrade myself and I am not quick to let someone else work on my car.After browsing the Internet I stumbled upon Dynamic Auto Tune and thought I'd give them a try installing an aftermarket intercooler as I don't have the tools or space to do it myself due to living in a dorm. They did a tremendous job and I was very pleased with the work and it only got better. I returned about 3 weeks later to get performance brake parts installed as well as a fuel pump upgrade done. They did a tremendous job and I left the shop happy but as I began to leave my car started flashing a check engine light and had low power. I returned to their shop quickly and was able to catch them before they left as it was 9:30 and the shop was closed. They stayed open for me for another hour and a half and figured out the problem which had to do with the tuner I was running on my car. The owner even bought me food while I waited and there was no extra charge for the extra labor. I will continue to bring my car to this shop as long as I live in North Carolina.
I shattered the rear window in my Honda Pilot and began to search online and by phone to find a local replacement service. I spoke to many glass companies including a few that did not replace rear windows and asked them for recommendations. Trotter Auto Glass came up more than once so I called Laura and she was extremely pleasant to speak with and answered all of my questions about the replacement window. So I had my insurance company contact her for the repair. 3 Hours later Mark shows up at my house and after speaking to him for a few minutes, I could tell he was very knowledgeable, had 20 years of experience and was a great guy. He took his time and did a very very thorough job and was very detailed oriented. He was very careful to ensure all of the small pieces of glass were cleaned out of the back of the car, inside the rear door and on the driveway. I have dealt with other, much larger glass companies before, but Mark and Laura of Trotter Auto Glass was exactly what I was looking for in a local, friendly repair service. I would very highly recommend them to anyone needing an auto glass repair for their friendliness, promptness and quality of service. I am a very satisfied customer.
Deluxe paint & body works turned the disaster of my collision into a lifelong relationship. The staff was so helpful with my first accident. I didnt know where to turn but with their help i was able to set up my claim. 2 days after my accident i still didnt hear from the insurance of the person who hit me! But the sweetest young lady kristine was able to set up a appointment for the adjuster to come that very day. They got me into a rental super fast since i dont have the time to put my life on hold and deal with this aggravation. I cant express how greatful i am to them they helped guide me through the process but they also returned car looking immaculate! 3 days before it was supposed to be due and they even fixed some minor dents on my fender too while replacing the doors... the paint was on point and when i got my car back it was cleaned. They did an absolute excellent job at making this customer happy. They carried me through from start to finish and i couldnt be more happy with the services!! I would recommend this family owned christian business to anyone who was involved in a accident... thanks again for the one hundreth guys!
I searched for a year to find a shop who could and would do an exceptional body work and paint job. In February of 2016 I found Hadi Ghrairi owner of Custom Paint & Body, Inc. Hadi has experienced workers who are good at what they do and they did careful outstanding work. Everyone is a craftsman and my hat is off to them. This was not my first rodeo, I restored my first car at age 15 in 1953 and have restored a dozen cars in the intervening 62 years. This was not a small project. My 52 year old mustang had issues and Hadi and his crew addressed all of them and produced an end project that met all my desires and then some. I have owned the car since it was new in 1966 and it is a better car now than when it was new due in no small measure to Hadi Ghrairi. It was a big job and it was expensive, but worth every penny spent. Considering the work performed and the quality of craftsmanship is was a bargain price. I recommend Custom Paint and Body to everyone. You won't be sorry.
This is the only time in my life I`m over 50 yrs. that I applied online and got approval that was actual approved!!! All the other times it was just a ploy to get me into the dealership so I could sit for the next 6 to 8 hours waiting to find a creditor to except my application and I never got the vehicle that I went after. So if your looking to purchase a vehicle this is the place and people to go to. If your up front with them about your income and you have your down payment these people are going to put you in the vehicle that you want period. Give them a couple hours and you will be on your way! The sales staff was very friendly and knowable and your never left sitting in the corner while the easier customer pass you by.I don`t think you will find a car dealer that even compares to these people. I give them a 10 out of ten, if and when I trade again it will be with Drive Time. Yes I do recommend them to anyone. Thank you again Drive Time.
I am the owner of Parks Auto and responding to Randy's review. We took great care of his son in law (who happens to be in his late 30's). Before we sold him the car, he talked on the phone to Randy for almost an hour about this car; and he fully inspected the car and test drove it. At that time, there were no noises, leaks, or known major issues with the car. He asked about a warranty and we told him YES we could provide him with a warranty but, of course, it would cost him extra and he declined. He also signed a Buyer's Guide As Is form which he read thoroughly. I would also like to mention that our car passed NC inspection. When we learned of his dissatisfaction, out of good faith, we offered him a $100 gas card but he declined. We operate with a high level of integrity and I feel that we have done all we can do (within reason) to assist this customer but he was not open to our offer.
If you own an Euro that is not under warranty and you take it anywhere but Eurowise you are making a massive mistake, especially if you own a bimmer. The BMW mechanic, Craig, takes service to another level, especially if you know nothing about cars. Every time I think of having to take my car to the mechanic, I cringe. These guys actually make it enjoyable. They will educate you if you take the time to listen, sometimes feed you, and give you ride to anywhere nearby! They are also located close to the light rail which is incredibly convenient. They will treat you like they know you! Not many mechanics, let alone businesses still run a company like Mike, the owner does Eurowise. Do not be stupid like me and think you are getting a deal at a mechanic you know! These are guys are a lot cheaper than their competition, and they are very on point! 110% across the board.
