D J Repair Center
We have been doing business with DJ repair for years. Communication needs some work. I took my car in to get work done. Dropped it off on a Sunday (did not have an appointment) due to car not running at all. Talked to mechanic everthing seemed fine. Tuesday car was still not in...they were closed on Wed due to holiday. So I called asking when car might get in...they said there was only 1 mechanic that day so it would not get in until thursday or friday. Told them that I would probably be in to pick it up that afternoon. Because at this point my husband decided to fix the problem. Fuel pump! Didnt know that they double price from auto parts store until we did research. I receive a message with an estimate of how much the job was going to cost from DJ. An hour later I get another call that says my car is done. Funny, how it wasnt getting in until later in the week, until I said that I was picking it up. Want to know why....$324.00 for the fuel pump kit from Napa...my bill from DJ 752.and some odd cents! $62.00 per hour for mechanic (he put 2 hours down) the rest was for fuel pump. Oh, and on a side note...I also ask him to inspect the car and check air condition. Their words were "we didnt have the time". Sounds like greed to me!

Forrester Lincoln
We are very pleased with our recent purchase of a 2002 Thunderbird from Forresters. It has been some time since we have purchased a used car and not a familiar experience. A few years ago we bought a new Mercury from Forrester's and have been thourghly pleased with it, and the service we've received from their maintenance department. Mark, of their used car section guided us through the process while answering all of our questions regarding the T-Bird, even including some we asked about past history of the car even after we had completed the purchase. Based on past history and current support, when another change of vehicles comes to our household I would expect to begin looking for the replacement at Forresters.

MotivWerks LLC
After taking my car to Forrester Lincoln and Keystone Ford for trouble shooting my Lincoln (very bad exhaust odor was coming through the vents at start-up) ONLY MotivWerks could fix it. Paid Forrester's $450 for what was supposed to be a bad EGR tube gasket and it wasn't what was wrong with the car. Before you take your car to a dealership, see Justin and the guys at MotivWerks. They are nothing short of brilliant, honest guys. Thanks SO much!!!!!

If I had to rate the professionalism of the salesman who I purchased my car from I would give him a 10 out of 10. His communication skills were on point and he was honest when I was asking him questions, especially when it came to pricing. Thanks

My salesperson from Hamilton Hyundai explained my new vehicle features really well. Which is great because I had a 1999 car and technology has changed so much in the years.

Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
