Colling Brothers Roofing
Our roof was completed about a month ago, and so far it seems to be great quality. However, getting it completed was a hassle... when we accepted their bid we were told it would be 2-3 weeks before they could get around to doing it. Five weeks later we call to ask them if they plan on coming out, and they said they would start on Friday. They didn't show up on Friday, but at least they made the initiative of calling and saying they would be out the next friday - but it snowed the next Friday and they didn't make it. The following Wednesday they finally started the project and had everything done except the flashing by thursday evening. The next week they still didn't have the flashing complete, so I called to ask if they were planning on finishing, and they said they didn't have the flashing in stock. (??) But they came back 2 days later and finished it all.Altogether, they were friendly, did good work, and they had a good price, just be willing to possibly endure a hassle if you hire them!

Colling Brothers Roofing
Holy cow these guys know their stuff! They did our roof several years ago. They started when we were scheduled, they got the old roof off and the new back on in short order. The most impressive thing of all was how little scraps and nails were found after the job was done. One thing you don't want to find are shingles flying around in the neighbors' yards or stepping on stray nails in your flower beds. I found one very small piece of shingle stuck in a shrub and no nails! They did a bang up job cleaning up the jobsite. Polite workers and quick. Worth every penny.

Summit Roofing
I had a bad experience with another roofer and someone referred me to Summit in 1998. I have been having them do roof maintenance and other projects ever since and they've been masterful.

Summit Roofing
When they were working on my roof we had to be gone all day but I completely trusted leaving them at my house. They got in and out and did a fantastic job.

Summit Roofing
Summit roofing worked fast, were cleanly, professional, and gave me a senior citizens discount which I liked. I would use them again no questions asked.
Tips & Advices
The most common types of roofing material are:
  • Asphalt shingles
  • Metal roofing
  • Slate shingles
  • Concrete roofing
Metal roofing material and algae-resistant asphalt shingles are the appropriate roofing material for rainy climates.
Houses located in  areas which are prone to wildfires, should avoid the use of flammable roofing materials such as wood shingles.
Not only should you ask to get in contact with past clients, it is also recommended that  homeowners visit projects currently underway to see how the contractor or company actually performs during a job. You can also go online and check out other customer reviews.
Reputable roofers do offer a warranty against poor workmanship. Additionally, the material used often carries a warranty from the manufacturer against defects (assuming proper installation). It is the homeowner’s responsibility to check on the availability of all such warranties before any work is performed.
