A Business casual restaurant. Great place for special occasions. It's a great romantic data night place, but is good for families too, as it has a great selection for kids menu!!
We went to Shadowbrook Restaurant to celebrate our anniversary and were not disappointed, either in the ambiance, the service, or the food. The restaurant, noted for seafood and steak, is built on a hillside, with many levels, sloping down to the Soquel River. To enter the restaurant, you either walk down the steps through the beautiful gardens with waterfalls, or by taking a cable car down the hill. We don't live in Capitola, so decided to spend the night in a motel. Much to our surprise, we discovered that Shadowbrook would pick us up at our motel for a free ride in one of their vintage taxis. We got to ride in a 1966 checker cab to and from the restaurant and felt so special. It was a magical evening in a restaurant filled with old world charm, and unlike most restaurants today, it wasn't noisy!
Beautiful, serene restaurant nestled in the hillside overlooking Soquel Creek. Award winning food and excellent service. Perfect for a private event, romantic dinner or casual dining in the bar. Walking distance to the Wharf. Love coming here!
Amazing food, awesome wine selection, all of the staff are gracious and the grounds are beautiful - the best place for special dining and celebrations.
Rude waiters; Overrated food. Do not bring children.
From the time you take the quaint elevator down to the creekside restaurant until you leave, you will not be disappointed. Don't have a lot of time? Then you can walk into the bar area. My favorite item on the menu is the blackened lamb. The only thing one must be aware of is that you WILL need reservations.
A must go to when entertaining out of town guests, they will be delighted with the unique decor and delicious food. Pricey, this is a special occasion place for a full meal, but a fantastic local's secret for happy hour - get great small dishes and well mixed drinks at good prices and enjoy the atmosphere of the bar.
the shadow brook has a great steak and they dont check id... good food nice waiters bar a different smaller menu...
This was a GREAT experience. Location on a hillside. Multi level and very appealing to the eye. The meal was the best I had in a weeklong visit to the Montereyarea. It was reasonable. Good waitstaf Perfectly cooked beef. Would have felt comfortable whether I was with children or with someone special for a romantic dinner for two. Wisg this place was closer to home. Did I say the beef was fabulous?f
This is absolutely a beautiful and romantic restaurant. Which is a really good thing, because the quality of the food was disappointing. Not to say that the food was terrible - it was very average - but I definetely expected a little more of an impressive meal.
