A To Z Transmission & Automotive
I would recommend A To Z Transmission & Automotive. I like their professionalism. They are very professional, and as far as I can tell the quality of their work is excellent. Nothing has gone wrong with what they've fixed so far. The only thing I always squabble about when I go over there is raising prices. It's a good organization; I just haven't compared them with other people or done any extensive homework to prove otherwise. It just seems to be getting higher and higher. It cost me $135 to get a battery changed, and then $35 to have them put a bulb in, and I gave them the bulb (I couldn't find the plug, or I would have done it myself). I did ask my girlfriend how much it cost to get hers done, and it was about the same though, so I guess things have just gone up in general. Other than that, they keep finding all kinds of stuff going on in my car. I have a '99 Honda Accord, which is a pretty reliable automobile, generally speaking, but the repair engine light keeps coming on. It seems to be just a little quirk with the car itself, as I take it in, they reset it, but they can't find anything wrong with it, and the light stays off for many months. I'm assuming A to Z Transmission & Automotive is reputable. They have a good reputation as such. I just wonder about all the things they have had to fix. But, what they fix apparently stays fixed. The car's still running!

Santa Clarita Auto Repair
As far as I can tell mechanic did an excellent job, where I have the problem is pricing one of the first questions I asked how much you charge per hr? He said $95 per hr. I was charged $107.52 to change 4 spark plugs... Easily accessible from top of the engine. Charge additional $105.23 swap out ignition coils, have to be removed coils too install new spark plugs so the mechanic have to do this anyway, I've being charged for over an hour of his time for the mechanic to reach down pick up new coils rather then the old ones. Ask him how long would take to get the new parts? He told me about hour or so. 4+ hours later the parts have yet to arrive, I really dislike businesses allow customers to wait is completely unacceptable! The owner/manager should've sent somebody out to get the parts 30min after it was late. $212.75 in labor charges at $95 per hr = 2hr 20min to change spark plugs/coils. Should have taken 30 minutes max.

Sierra Auto Care
Sierra Auto Care is an outstanding alternative to the dealer for the repair of your vehicle. I went in with my sister knowing what was wrong with her Pilot and these guys didn't try to weasel more work or misdiagnose the issue. I believe it was Nick that looked at the SUV, and immediately said it was what I knew it was. He quoted an extremely good price for the repair and asked for 3 hours to get it done. Not only was the price half as much as the dealer wanted. He had the work done in an hour and a half. He also spotted an issue with a very small leak in the transmission and suggested we just keep an eye on it as it was so small and wouldn't do any damage if it wasn't repaired now. He he suggested she have it done when more significant work was needed to save cost on doing that repair alone. These guys are great and I'd suggest you give them a shot if you need work done on your car or truck. Excellent!!!!

A To Z Transmission & Automotive
I met A to Z Transmission & Automotive two or three months ago. My car died at midnight in the Valley. It's 23 years-old but I don't want to get rid of it. It has low mileage and held out really well. When I took it to A to Z Transmission & Automotive, they told me what needed to get done on it instead of telling me it was too old to be worked on. They took care of the things that needed to be taken care of now, and fitted things into my budget. I had seen their ads at different times. When my car broke down, Triple A recommended I use A to Z Transmission & Automotive, but I was going to use them anyhow because they were a local company! They're a nice bunch of people. They're right up front and tell you everything, including what you can get away with for now. They don't mess with you. I'm going back to A to Z Transmission & Automotive!

A To Z Transmission & Automotive
I have used A to Z Transmission & Automotive since 2000. I got a referral from a customer of theirs who lives in my neighborhood. He said he went in there for a leak in his engine, and they let him know it was just a drain plug. It could have been passed off as a major repair. They are very honest. They have a logo on everything that says, "Finally, an honest mechanic," and I believe them. I have 5 cars with them, with my sons and daughter driving too, and they have all our records. They keep up on everything and let us know what we should do. They don't cut corners or play games. They only push what really needs to happen. They will tell me what really needs to be fixed, and they treat our cars like their own cars. I have had really good experiences with them. They have done some major repairs for me and almost all our maintenance.

A To Z Transmission & Automotive
Basically, I think that A to Z Transmission & Automotive is really professional. I've been going there for over a year now and I like that I can go in and tell them what I think is going on and they take the car in and verify what the issue is. They give me a quote for the initial problem, but they also give a list of issues to be addressed, but they're not pushy. They just let you know what's most important to what can be put off indefinitely. They are cognitive to the fact that not everyone is made of money or has piles of dollars to spend, so they let you know what's most important to fix first. I am knowledgeable about cars, but they still take time to explain what's going on with my car. I feel they are very honest.

A To Z Transmission & Automotive
The people at A To Z Transmission & Automotive have always been courteous. They let me know the estimate and they would call me to let me know if they found anything else wrong to be done immediately, or to do later. They never tried to force something to raise my bill. Even one time, I had something running five minutes before closing--it was a fuse or something--and the guy got somebody to look at it without charging. I'd recommend them! I needed an air conditioner fixed recently and another place told me it would cost $400. A To Z fixed it for less than $100! I would recommend A To Z to everyone. They even drove me home and picked up car up since I didn't live far too away!

A & S Automotive
I have been lost the last couple of years not knowing where Art went. Well, I was having some major problems with my car yesterday and FINALLY tracked Art down. Art is the most honest, knowledgeable and reliable mechanic I've ever dealt with. I have three daughters and a wife and I feel comfortable with having any one of them go directly to Art knowing that they will receive the same treatment as I would. I feared the worst with my current problem but Art had my car fixed and ready to go in three short hours and it cost me all of $75.
Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
