HIGHLY RECOMMEND! After reading the other review here, I waited almost a year before venturing into the Hope Salon. I don't know what I was so afraid of! The place was clean, classy & friendly, & the prices VERY reasonable. The owner herself applied the full set of acrylics I wanted & did a superb job! I waited a full week to write this review, just to be certain, but I've had NO problems whatsoever. I'm going in again this week for a pedi, so I'll update you then, but I expect it to be divine!
Edit:I put it down to 4 stars because they can't seem to handle their customers now. I guess it's at the point of a new business where they are getting too many people than they prepared for or something? But if I make an appointment with someone specific, I will have to go to someone else. If I make an appointment at all, now I am in there for like an hour, but the person I had it with might take a walk-in in front of me. Someone can come in and she will say that she can't take you and someone will come in after and they all of a sudden will fit them in. Things like that. Weird... ------------------------------------------I was really mad that they turned me away when I came in 1/2 hour before they closed a few days ago, but I decided to give them another try. I now realize that it is probably because they like to be so attentive to each person, it takes longer even for just a manicure. I like the place a lot AND I CAN UNDERSTAND THEM ALL COMPLETELY. yayyyyy to that. There is complimentary coffee in there, they take extra time out to massage your hands with the lotion, and they even give you like a minute massage when you are drying your nails. After a little bit, they put some organic hot oil stuff on your nails for instant dry, very cool! So glad this place opened, so I can have a place I like in the area.
I got a toenail fungus from this place. I m 100% sure this is where I got it. It s in the exact spot the woman, dressed as if she was going clubbing, was digging around stating I had an in grown nail, which I had no problems with or even knew I had had an in grown nail. During this pedicure, something made me wonder if what they were doing was sanitary. I should have listened to that inner voice and just left. This was my second experience there. I decided to give them a second chance after my first painful one. The man was so rough on my feet. He didn t hear me or pick up on my painful cues because he was so busy watching a news story on the TV in the pedicure room. If you're wondering if a nail fungus is really that bad, the answer is yes. It's contagious and only gets worse. The only real medicine that gets rid of it is prescription medicine, which is harsh on your liver (you need to get monthly blood tests) and has side effects. Topicals you buy at the pharmacy just hide the ugliness but will never get rid of it. I wish I could rate no stars for this salon. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.
