Pep Boys Auto Parts & Service
I was in distressed when i called pepboys because i was driving around with a flat, even though it was a run flat tire, my entire was shredding...I knew i had to get to a service station soon. All the service stations wer closing and know service station was willing to assist me . i remebered that pep boys had just recently opened and i called from my cell, i spoke with Karl Cooper who was friendly, understanding and sensative to my issue. He went searching for a tire to fit my vechicle right away. He told me that he would have a tire ready as soon as i got there to replace my flat. They reassured me that they would wait until i arrived. i drove into pep boys and I was greeted as soon as i walked in. Craig Sanchez explained that he was assisting me in place of Karl but I was in good hands. He worked with me with several options of tires and prices to fit my budget which made me feel at ease. I felt that Craig was understanding to my needs and did what he could to assist me further. When Craig was unable to do any more for a better price, the manager Joe Young assisted and I must say he was a gem. He also worked and assisted the guys as much as possiable to get things done in a timely manner due to it was already closing time. The guys were not so concerned about going home but was more concerned with handeling my issues with my vehichle. I felt so at ease that i trusted my vechicle with them completly. I needed back break pads and I ended up buying 4 tires as well because Joe made it affordable for me. There was also a deal when you buy 4 tires, your get one free in which you receive a visa gift card by mail. That also made things much better price wise. ... Again the prices were very fair and they accomadated me with all my needs I thank JOE YOUNG for all his help as well as the rest of the team that night. I left feeling really good about the store and the people that worked there. I will be back for my automotive needs. I have a Lexus 460 GS and I take good care of my car. I know when i bring my vechile to them it is in great hands!

Motorhead Auto Repair
Its seems kinda funny that every time Ive taken one of our vehicles in for a repair they are right back in for another issue. I recently had the front suspension fixed on my vehicle and when i took it up there the engine was running perfect. We had just replaced all the hoses, spark plugs and wires, along with a few other things. When I pulled off from motorhead the car started running like it wanted to blow up. A couple days later it started making terrible sounds at the pully and belts. The next day the car started making a terrible winding sound and and totally shut down. the stearing went out along with the brakes. Its funny because when we looked at where all the noise was coming from it was right where they were working. When I called motorhead about it they were like you need to bring that car up here right away. He said from what it sounded like that was atleast a $600 job. So basically I wont be taking any more of my vehicles there again.

Motorhead Auto Repair
I pulled in Motor Heads with my classic 72 Chevy Cheyenne 427 truck with a busted power steering hose pooring fluid. I am traveling threw GA from SC and was expected to be told to leave the truck or return later to get hose repaired. Within 10 min from the time I pulled in Steve the owner had me in his truck and we were off to find a power steering hose to repair my blown one. 45 min or so later I was pulling back on the road. This was my first experience with Motor Heads I just took a chance they would help me as I traveled threw and had a problem . Steve went out of his way to assist my problem . I felt lucky to meet theses people late on a Friday afternoon and they were so willing to help. O yea when I received my repair bill I looked at it 3 times to make sure it was correct I then tipped him a $ 20.00 for the great service. Thanks Guys you made my weekend a lot better. Respectfully Todd C. Townsville SC

Gunther Volkswagen Buford
I had a wonderful experience at Gunter Volkswagon. I decided to take my New Honda Odyssey to them for service on the recommendation of a friend of mine. I needed an oil change and basic service, but I also had recently had some damage to my wheel from hitting a curb to avoid hitting a dog. They were amazing and so helpful. Tina Harris and John Streeper went out of their way to make sure that my car was taken care of. I did not realize that they serviced all makes and models there until my friend told me. I was very excited to get my car back and know that it was in great working order and safe to drive my family around in it. I will happily continue to take my car there for service.

Pep Boys Auto Parts & Service
Awesome service! A very special Thank You goes to Carla, Ivan & Ricardo! Carla, for making sure I purchased the Road Hazard Warranty when I bought my new tires just two weeks prior. Ivan, for keeping me constantly updated on the progress, as my replacement tire had to be ordered & delivered from another location. And Ricardo for assuring me that he would be the one to perform the service and that he personally would make sure it was done correctly. I encourage everyone to go ahead and spend the few extra dollars for the Road Hazard Warranty. I never would have imagined that I would've needed it after just two weeks, but boy am I glad I had it... it saved me a nice chunk of change!

Motorhead Auto Repair
I can't say enough great things about Steve and his mechanics at Motorheads Auto Repair on Buford Hwy. I initially took it in to Steve, the owner, for an assessment re: my rear end differential needing repair as well as front driver side boot/axle. He quoted me a really fair price so I took it to them for the repairs as they had some good reviews and were located nearby. I went to pick it up and was shocked at how much better it drove; like new!!! These guys give you a honest, fair quote with no surprises when you pick up AND do an absolutely spectacular job. Motorheads is where I will continue to take my vehicles for repairs. Thanks guys!!!

Pep Boys Auto Parts & Service
Ivan, Paul and Luis were such a big help when I went to get my car checked out today. Not only were they honest about the issues I have with my car, they were compassionate enough to give me a discount and help me determine a plan to get the necessary repairs done. Ivan and Paul gave me great advice about what I should do, not from a general manager and technician viewpoint, but from a caring and empathetic understanding. I was distraught upon my arrival but felt relieved with peace of mind when I left. It was nice to receive honest work and I will definitely be back for all my auto needs!

Team Ryan Automotive Service and Repair
Troublesome engine light before a trip out of town. What a great group of folks at Team Ryan Automotive! They had a look, ran diagnostics, drove the car several times over 1.5 days to encourage the stall issue, but nothing. They could have easily made a repair and charged $$$ but their ethical business practices left me with a small bill to pay. Its been 6 days and no issues so far. I felt comfortable with the staff and the owner Dan. Thanks so much for speedy service. I will be back when the time comes for service on my Volvo.
Tips & Advices
Yes. New tires purchased online can often be priced lower than ones at a tire dealership. Buyers can often avoid state sales taxes and locate hard-to-find tire styles and sizes, but will still have to locate a local tire installer and pay sometimes high shipping costs.
The average cost of a set of new tires is $637, with a range of between $525-$725. In addition, installation includes mounting and balancing, alignment, and disposal of old tires.
The vehicle is raised and the old wheels are removed, then the old tires are removed from the wheels. The lug nuts, wheels, and valve stems are inspected and replaced as needed. The new tires are mounted and sealed, then inflated and balanced. The wheels are then replaced on the car. The average installation takes approximately 45 minutes.
Agencies such as the Tire Industry Association promotes tire safety through advocacy and education to the industry including: manufacture, sales, repair, service and recycling. Seek a full-service tire dealer who carries a wide variety of tire types and brands and asks about the type of driving you normally do.
  • Move your car to a safe location.
  • Turn on your car’s safety lights, apply the parking brakes and remove the hubcap if there is one.
  • Loosen the lug nuts with a lug wrench (but do not remove them), raise the vehicle with a jack and then fully remove the lugnuts.
  • Remove the flat tire and replace it with the spare tire.
  • Tighten the lug nuts by hand, lower the car and then tighten them fully with the lug wrench.
