Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Services
First off let me say that I was able to easily book an appointment for a Roto Rooter expert to come to my house. It took less than 10 minutes! I thought it was too good to be true! Soon after booking my appointment i received an email saying that the technician would be to my house between 8-10am the following morning! Great i thought! However, i received a call shortly after 9 am saying that they would call when the technician was within 30-minutes of my house. Fine, i thought to myself. But, the technician did not arrive until shortly after 11. He did call and say he was an hour away and wanted to be sure i wanted him to come still. Of, course i did! He then told me that there would be a fee of $150 for his assessment of my problem (we have a strange smell coming from the basement). I had specifically stated that the website states that estimates are free. He began explaining something over the phone but i didn't quite understand what he was talking about, something about a dead mouse and smells in basements. When he finally arrived, he unofficially quoted the work we said we wanted done but said the smell was coming from a different location in the basement and that we might want to call a septic company. After doing a brief write up of his assessment of the smell, he said it would be $150. When i reiterated that i thought an estimate was free, based on the website ad, he followed that up with, "I didn't drive 85 miles for free". He said that he could "waive" the fee if we purchased two gallons of this cleaning solution sold by Roto Rooter (which came to $125 after tax). He said that an estimate would be free but because we asked him to assess a problem smell, there would be a fee. I did not see any fine print on the website add however i do feel as though i was falsely led and that this technician was a little condescending when i asked questions. All in all, i do not think i would recommend.

I called Roto-Rooter of Buffalo this past Sunday morning to come out and clear a clogged sewer drain. I was a little frustrated that they would not give me an estimate over the phone. I was told they come out for free and then give you a price. When the plumber got there he looked over the situation and then told me how much they charge for to clear a clogged sewer drain. If I would have known the price up front I would have went with a different company because they were much more expensive, but since they were there and I needed the drain cleared I Roto-Rooter do the work. The drain was cleared, but the plumber did not have a camera to do an inspection and I am still waiting for another plumber to come out and run the camera through the sewer pipe so we can make sure the drain is clear.

We had a plugged kitchen (double) sink drain. Of course, it plugged up on a Friday night. After my attempts to clear the drain, I waited until Monday morning and called Roto-Rooter. They said someone would be there within an hour. They were right! Frank showed up and was very professional. Although I was initially surprised that he quoted me $300 to clear the drain, I really need it fixed and I knew I couldn't do it. It took him two attempts and he concluded that the clog was much further down the drain pipe that I ever could have reached with my amateur efforts. But he cleared it, cleaned up and referred me to a $40 coupon on line that I printed out. Frank said there is a 6 month guarantee as well. I would highly recommend them and use them again.

We had a clog in our bathroom that was backing up into the shower. On a Sunday, I called and within an hour David was there and stayed for 2 hours until the clog was released. Price was explained up front. Next Sunday, we had another clog and James arrived and scoped the pipes, which resulted in the pipes clearing right away. He provided a clear picture of what was occurring and offered advice and a product for dealing with our scaling cast iron pipes. He also took a look at the water heater and downstairs bath, which have some issues. I will definitely give RR a call when the time comes to deal with those items. Meanwhile, very satisfied at the timely, professional and courteous service

I live in Amherst, NY and had a malfunctioning sum pump in my basement. With the weather getting warm out I was nervous to wait and search for the best deal on a new one. I called two places before Roto-Rooter who couldn't send somebody out for a few days without paying a fee. Then I gave Roto-Rooter a call. They sent somebody out within an hour! The guy installed my new sum pump, and now I don't have to worry about my basement! They were very polite and professional. The pump with installation was a little pricey, but I would recommend them to anyone.

I have been using Roto-Rooter for many years now, and in particular, the exemplary work done by Michael Gawlak, Tech #1761. I own several properties in the Buffalo area, and Mike has always done a fast, quality, professional job on each of them. I know I can depend on his skills and knowledge and I am confident that I am not getting ripped off. He explains things clearly so I can understand exactly what's needed, and he will not quit until the job is done. I highly recommend Roto-Rooter to all my friends and associates, and in particular, Mike!

We had a block in our main line, it was a Sunday, it was a disaster...and then we called Roto-Rooter's Cheektowaga location (after we called another plumber who wanted to charge us $99 just to come out) and they made everything whole again in our world, quickly, efficiently, and at a good price. We are so glad we called roto-rooter, it was a great know, if you have to have a plumbing experience. :) We will definitely call them again the next time our kids throw their junk down the drain and block our line.

Daniel explained the price and options up front. He was here on a Saturday night and there was no extra charges. He was professional and polite and even advised on some other plumbing issues and gave suggestions. He cleared the blockages in the main sewer line and scoped a camera down there and explain the condition of the pipe.Excellent job thank you. Total cost with coupon was $281.00 not cheap but great service.

The experience was seamless. It was rather pricey as others have noted but it is what you pay for. Matt came on a Wednesday and returned on a Sunday no additional cost. He was very knowledgeable and even gave us a few tips. Was able to clear the main drainage from our tub in a matter of a half hour. Came with a 6-month warranty. Never have I ever been more relieved to have our tub draining again!
Tips & Advices
This depends on the facility. Patients should call to find out if they'll need a referral from their physician prior to making an appointment.
Aside from hyperbaric oxygen treatment, most wound care centers offer:
  • Debridement: The removal of dead skin and tissue surrounding the wound. This can be done surgically, using a whirlpool bath, syringes, enzymes that dissolve the tissue, or wet dressings that dry on the wound and absorb the dead tissue.
  • Dressing: Wrapping the wound in a protective film, gauze, gel, or foam.
  • Compression stockings: Tight-fitted fabric sheaths that encourage blood flow.
  • Artificial skin: A covering that is applied to the wound for several days as it heals.
  • Ultrasound: The use of sound waves to promote healing.
  • Growth factor therapy: The use of materials naturally produced by the body to encourage quick cell growth.
  • Negative pressure therapy: Creating a vacuum around a wound to encourage faster blood flow to the area.
Depending on where the treatment is administered, hyperbaric oxygen treatment  can cost $100- $1,000. After insurance is applied, patients may have a copay of $10 -$50 or a coinsurance fee of 10 percent to 50 percent.
Most wounds should heal within two to six weeks. An individual should seek chronic wound treatment if a wound has not begun to heal after two weeks or is not completely healed after six.
Most health insurance plans cover wound care. Patients should check with the clinic and their health insurance provider before seeking treatment to be sure.
