Geared Up Transmissions
Terrible customer service. I purchased a transmission from this company and had it shipped to my house, only to find a problem with it. I had to pay 200$ to ship it back for them to fix it, only to get it back with another problem. They refused to cover shipping in order to send it back again and said that they could not guarantee the fix would be covered under warranty. I'm incredibly upset with the customer service and would not recommend using their services.

Geared Up Transmissions
These people really know their stuff! I found out about them when I saw some of the employees helping a guy broke down on the side of the road. I saw them all run out to help so I knew when I needed a new transmission that's who I needed to call. They were so kind to a complete stranger and I knew their customer service wouldn't disappoint. They got me exactly what I needed, FAST and it works better than expected. Lifetime customer and I will sing their praises to anyone who will listen.

Darren and Charlie are two of the most knowledgable mechanics I have ever met. They diagnosed and repaired a problem the Dealer with all their computers and factory trained mechanics and thousands of dollars could not fix. Honest and dependable, I highly recommend them.

K & J Auto Repair Service
I recently had my oil changed. Great job while I waited. The owners & staff are very professional. After my oil change was done, I had my car detailed on site. Excellent job!! I also requested quotes for new tires & some other minor repairs. The pricing was very reasonable, therefore I am scheduling this with them. This is now my go to auto service shop. I highly recommend!Chris Piermatteo

HONEST, KNOWLEDGEABLE AND EXTREMELY REASONABLE PRICE! LOOK NO FURTHER FOR A MECHANIC!They were working down the street from me, and at the time, I was having car trouble. I called and left a message, received a call back within a couple of hours. Darren and his apprentice came and knew instantly what the issue was. They checked a few things, cleaned up a part and I was good to go. Darren did tell me that's step one, if that doesn't clear problem, call me , I will tell you what part to buy and we can do step 2. I did need the step 2, I called auto parts stores and was told I had to get part from Kia. I called Kia, only to be told I had to come to them, pay 69.00 for the diagnoses and possible purchase a 600.00 part. I called Darren back and told him what they said. His apprentice again called me right back and said DO NOT BUY ANYTHING, we will be there tomorrow! They show up, cleaned out the part and this problem should not present itself again! Thanks again!

Sheley Sons Auto Repair
We have had Sheley and Sons work on all of our vehicles for one reason or another issue since moving to Brooksville. They are friendly and courteous. Yesterday, they did a complete brake repair for all four wheels. Our vehicle has four wheel disk brakes. The repair was done same day and cost was about 30% less than other local estimate. Highly recommended.
Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
