Rodney Leibowitz DDS
Dr. Leibowitz is not only a amazing Doctor, but is a incredible human being. I went to his office and was greeted by a warm and friendly staff as soon as I walked in. I needed MAJOR dental work and was scared and apprehensive to say the least. After meeting with Dr. Leibowitz and discussing my options I decided to go with the mini implant procedure. Dr. Leibowitz sat and explained the entire procedure and answered all my questions patiently. He told me that I would need 6 extractions, 4 root canals and 9 implants. He also explained the low cost financing his office offers. He told me the whole procedure would take 3 visits. You read that correctly 3 visits! Suffice to say he was a man of his word. 3 visits later I was able to smile for the first time in years. Truly a life changing experience. His staff is friendly. And his office is extremely clean. He not only is my dentist, but I consider him family now! Thank you Rod for helping me smile at the world again. Jason

Leonid Levit Dental P.C.
Usually I am not writing review, I am recommending good doctor to my friends. I got hundreds appreciations from my friends who visited Dr.Levit. By my experience this doctor is doing very high professional work, very accurate, neat and knowledgeable doctor plus I never had problems with billing question, nether with waiting delay. The few seals which doctor did are staying already over 5 years. In last year I broke my front tooth, I thought that I would need crown, that it will take long time, I cannot open up my mouth. I called doctor and in the same day after my work time he fixed my tooth. All my co-workers were amazed, because on next day they could see that my broken tooth seemed as never was broken. All procedure was done for 3 min. The previous review shocked me because so negative respond could be written only by very jealous person who hated Russian.

Progressive Dentistry P.C. Brooklyn - Alex Rabichev DDS
I've been a patient of Dr. Anna Rabichev's for a few years now. I was originally referred to her by a friend who'd always raved about her rare combination of gentleness and superior professional knowledge and skill. Finally I asked for a referral and could not be happier that I did. Unlike much of what I've experienced in the past and continue hearing of other dentists, Dr. Anna is very particular about preserving my existing teeth and treating them back to health , and while others are happy to do more painful and expensive procedures, she has just the skill and superior knowledge to save the teeth I have and regenerate them to a level of health and wellness others told me not to count on. Couldn't recommend her enough. Oh and she seems to have the lightest hand I've ever experienced. Turns out dental work doesn't have to equal suffering.

JS Atlantic Dental
I can tell that I have had a good experience being a patient of the doctor Joseph Shyknevsky. The office itself looks really good as a design wise and very clean. The atmosphere in the office is calm and inviting. Receptionists are polite, and receptionists call to a patient to remind about following appointment. Dr Joseph Shyknevsky knows his job very well, so I trust this doctor. He actually convinced me to save one of my teeth instead of pulling it out, and I am glad that this doctor cares about well being of his patients. I have heard from people who referred me to this doctor that Dr. Shyknevsky specializes in the installation of implants, and does it well and fast so a patient experiences less discomfort. In other word, I had a good experience going to a dentist and definitely recommend this dentist!!

Brooklyn Dental
Dr. Amirian has been my dentist for few years and I'm confident to recommend him to anyone who needs any type of dental treatment. As his patient I can tell you that he will make sure you are comfortable and he would defiantly release all your fears. I normally used to need the oxigen but now I don't anymore. I trust him and his team. I did not feel any pain while I got an implant. He has a gently touch, you barely feel his hands. He is down to earth and takes his time explaining every step , shows me before and after pictures of his current patients and even draws procedures. He has a great personality. He makes me feel that I'm visiting a friend rather than a dentist. Highly recommended to anyone who lives in NY.

Manhattan Avenue Family Dental
DOCTORS AND STAFFS IS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE ALSO FRIENDLY.I came to Manhattan Avenue family dental for a routine cleaning. The receptionist was very nice and I was seen within five minutes of me arriving to the office. I saw Dr.Nassem and he was great! He was nice and very informative. Hygienist talked to me throughout my cleaning and gave me suggestions. The office was nice and clean. Even after my cleaning the woman that works in insurance coordinator took the time out to show me how much future procedures would cost, and how much my insurance would cover. I will definitely be back to see Dr.Naseem in the future! I have finally found a new dentist home!

Bridge Family Dental, P.C. Violetta Thierbach
Dr. Thierbach has been my excellent dentist for many many years. I first became her patient maybe 8 -9 years ago in Lower Manhattan, and have chosen to follow her in her Brooklyn practice, even though I live in Manhattan. It's worth it, because of her precise, caring, reliable, medically sound, technically superb, communicative, ultra sanitary dental treatment. Without any reservation, I totally recommend her; she's professional and even charming. So is her very accessible, polite staff. Cleanliness abounds, prices seem on the lower end of current rates, and, I just even cannot imagine a better dental experience than with Dr. Thierbach. 5 stars!

A-Z Dental
Dr. Shekhtmeyster is by far the best dentist I have ever had. She is very thorough, professional and kind. I used to have a gap in the front teeth due to a birth defect and through a simple 30 min, very reasonably priced procedure she fixed this gap - something that would have taken me thousands of dollars and years of braces and that I have dreamed of since I was 14! I feel very confident that I don't have any undiscovered cavities, and feel very inspired to keep my teeth in good shape. I definitely recommend her to anyone who wants to maintain good dental health and who lives in Brooklyn area.

Family Dental Studio
It's unfortunate that some patients put unrealistic expectations on their care givers and then go on bashing them on the internet. I was treated with utmost care and on several occasions was seen by Mrs. Dyczek, even when it wasn't always best time. She made sure I was comfortable and always followed up with genuine care and compassion. It's easy to judge someone based on one's unrealistic expectations but rarely do I see people give positive reviews when it's sincerely due. I highly recommend Dr. Dyczek to anyone as well as the rest of the Family Dental's team.

A-Z Dental
I recently visited this dental office with my two children. First of all the office was very flexible and gave us a Saturday appointment. Secondly, the entire staff from the front office, the dentist, and assistants were professional and kind. My daughters were anxious but they were able to perform the necessary treatment on them easily. The office has a nice family feel to it. I have already booked an appointment for my husband. We are going to recommend A-Z Dental to all of our friends!
Tips & Advices
  • Pick Your Plan: Most people purchase three main varieties, usually through their employers.
    • An indemnity or fee-for-service plan means you'll have to pay for annual deductibles and co-insurance payments out of pocket.
    • A preferred provider organization is less costly, and you choose from a network of dentists. However, PPOs have some limitations and accompanying deductibles.
    • A dental health maintenance organization plan limits you to just a few choices of dentists, and one doctor handles all of your oral care needs. However, these HMO are usually much less costly.
  • PPO plans and dental HMOs work with only a select number of doctors. While that usually means fewer costs, it also means you have less choice in the dentist who can treat you Before purchasing the plan, you'll receive a list of dentists in each network. From there, you can then pick a plan with doctors who meet your standards and requirements.
  • When picking a plan, you need to look at just how much you'll pay for each and every service. For instance, some plans won't cover your fillings or X-rays, while others may charge more or less for a crown or tooth extraction. You don't want to be caught off-guard by unforeseen charges.
  • If you're truly comfortable with a dentist and you feel he or she can be an ally in your ongoing oral care regimen, then consider signing a plan to just keep that dentist available. That means potentially deal with costs and other insurance-related factors that you might have wanted to. If need be, you might be able to work with the dentist's office to address some of the plan-specific concerns.
  • Ask family, friends or colleagues for recommendations. They will be able to provide details about a dentist's demeanor, operating style and approach to patient care
  • Meet with any prospective dentists to ask about what treatments they perform most often, procedures they're not as familiar with, what accreditation they have or any organizations they belong to and how their offices handles insurance and payments.
  • Consider driving distance, location and office hours.
  • Check With Your State Board: The state board can outline what requirements your dentist must meet and offer information about any discrepancies in the their background and if he or she has faced any disciplinary actions.
  • Remember Your Angles - When brushing your teeth, always place the brush at a 45-degree angle..
  • Don't Forget the Tongue – Your tongue is the largest source of bacteria. Brush it front to back and don't forget the sides.
  • Floss Everyday - Each time you floss, have at least 18 inches of floss available. For optimal control, hold the floss between your thumbs and forefingers.
  • Watch What You Eat - Sugar, alcohol and coffee contain phosphorus. While some can prove beneficial, too much of this chemical can eat away at your teeth and gums.
  • Keep in Mind the Mouthwash - Mouthwash can be helpful if used to supplement proper brushing and flossing. Most mouthwash brands contain chlorine dioxide, a chemical that targets the majority of oral bacterial strains.
Yellow teeth are the result of a number of bad habits, mainly smoking, drinking too much coffee and improper nutrition. Many dentists will treat with a whitening procedure.
These painful bumps are the result of irritation to the soft tissue of your mouth. These sores can make brushing almost impossible. There are a number of different causes for sores, including anemia or a vitamin B-12 deficiency. Your doctor will have to examine the bump, find its cause and then develop a specific treatment plan, including the use of corticosteroids to reduce inflammation or antimicrobial mouthwash.
