Most horrible vet service. They claim they see birds but they have no idea how to handle or diagnose birds. I brought in my beautiful baby canary for consultation and they killed him. The technician couldn't fetch him out of the cage, then left with a container cover open and he flew out out of the container. Then the so called veterinarian, Dr. Reichard, came in and didn't know how to diagnose my bird. They took him to trim his nails and he went into a cardiac arrest and passed away. I brought in my baby bird for a consultation to the medics and he caught death in their hands. The doctor told me that she doesn't know much about birds and has some knowledge only based on what she read on the internet. They should stop advertising that they see animals other than dogs and cats. They only know about dogs and cats. It has been the most devastating visit to the vet! Do not take your pet birds to them! The so called veterinarian there, Dr Reichard, is the worst vet I have ever encountered. She lacks the knowledge and skills, has no idea about diagnosis and treatment, and killed my bird in her examining room. Do not schedule your appointments when she works there. Most horrifying experience with that so called doctor. She is a disgrace to the vet profession!

I've been bringing my 2 chihuahuas to this clinic for over 2 yrs, I have nothing but praises to the staff who are always super nice and professional. Dr Bernstein who despite being very young is a smart, competent and compassionate vet, she takes really good care of her patients and my little boys love her ❤️

STAY AWAY! They have my dog 2 shots for Lyme Disease and also told me to use Vectra 3D. THIS IS A DEADLY COMBINATION!My dog was diagnosed with Acute renal failure die to Dr. Bernstein "professional" opinion. This "doctor" doesn't care about your animal. She never even bothered to tell me any side effects on these two meds. This office is all about money! I am a great customer and my dog likes the docs there, but what was done to my dog is irreversible.Due to this negligence, my 6.5 pound dog was under 3 days of IV. And she administered the same dosage for a dog that is 5 times larger than mine with the same meds, syringes come standard I think right? I guess its standard practice. When asked about this situation, I was told it is impossible that this happened from the injections. I was told, there is NO SIDE EFFECTS. C'mon, give me a break here! It's medication, of course there is something that is a side effect right? NOPE! Dr. Bernstein again told me she asked the other doctor at the clinic and they both agreed on that there is not a single side effect. WOW very BELIEVABLE!The following research was sent directly to the office inbox: Lyme Vaccine Side Effects - (GOOGLE it) I can't fit it into this review. In matter of hours, my phone rings, which looked like from.Dr. BERNSTEIN personal cell. All of a sudden, worried about my dog, she asked me where the dog is located and decided to call the animal hospital where my dog was staying, "to find something out" and I was also promised that she will find out the effects of this drug directly from the pharmaceutical company. NO RESPONSE HAS BEEN GIVEN after 3 days. Yeah, worried about my dog? I guess we will NEVER know, since no one knows anything at Sheepshead Bay Vet and what caused this problem with my dog.Feel free to reach out to me, you definitely know who I am.

Crown Heights Animal Hospital
Over the last few years, this vet has helped identify a fairly severe allergy that my cat had developed. And when they knew she would need allergy tests beyond the scope of their small practice, they referred me somewhere else. My cat is doing much so much better now, and without them she would still be suffering. Besides that, they are friendly and attentive, always taking enough time to explain what's going on, and they even remind me via text message (and snail mail) when my pet's shots are due. I can't recommend them enough, and am sorry to see that the reviewer before me had a bad experience. For me, it has been a wonderful relationship, and I would urge others to give them a chance, because we love them. They sell prescription cat food, are conveniently located, and take my concerns seriously. All good marks in my book!

This place should not even be allowed to practice medicine. We adopted a cat who was "spayed" here, only to have her need emergency surgery because she had an infected uterus. She hadn't been spayed at all and nearly died because of the carelessness of this Dr. Her stitches were so horribly done that she had huge lumps in the places they sewed her up. I feel sorry for any animal that has to come here.

Dr Sheynberg is incompetent, condescending, and arrogant not to forget money hungry. He will hospitalize your pet unnecessarily for monetary gain, do unnecessary procedures etc.He has poor communication skills and is extremely rough with your pet depending on his level of hostility for the day.I gave him too many chances with my pets life not knowing how uncontrolled his outbursts can escalate...scary to say the least.NEVER allow Dr. Sheynberg to make decisions regarding your pets health.Unprofessional and exhibits extreme erratic behavior !

Dynamite Youth Center
I am a completion of DYC from the 45th Wave and hope that anyone who is suffering with addiction can get the experience that I did from Dynamite, The program is amazing as well as the staff. I felt so comfortable and so cared for from the first day I walked into DYC. If you or your child is struggling with addiction call DYC and go in to see what this place is about, Anyone and everyone should have this opportunity to get help in a clean and healthy setting like Dynamite... xoxoxoxo To all DYC members and staff

Pet Haven Animal Hospital
Dr. Keshner can come off as rude and abrupt but thats because he loves animals and cannot hide his contempt for an owner when they wait until the animal is in very bad shape to bring them in. I am guilty of this, and full of regret that i waited to bring my Milo in. Now he is fighting for his life and he may not survive but they gave proper treatment and responded to all of my phone calls in following days most professionally. The only thing negative i can say is that they didnt suggest i take home i.v. fluids for his battle. I requested them and Dr. Keshner agreed and seemed much nicer now that he knew i was advocating for my animal's care. I hope Milo makes it. :(
Tips & Advices
Most 24-hour clinics do not allow owners to stay with their pets overnight. However, many do have specific visiting hours or will let owners see their pets at any point during the day. In addition, owners can call most clinics at any time for an update on their pet's well being.
  • Important phone numbers, especially those of the the veterinary clinic, the animal hospital or emergency clinic, and the poison control center
  • A book detailing pet first-aid steps
  • Copy of medical records
  • Nylon leash
  • Muzzle (only use if pet is not vomiting and has no difficulty breathing)
  • Absorbent gauze
  • Nonlatex disposable gloves
  • Scissors
  • Tweezers
  • Nail clippers
  • Digital thermometer
  • Sterile saline solution
  • Hydrogen peroxide (to induce vomiting only at the recommendation of a veterinarian
  • Milk of magnesia (to absorb poison only at the recommendation of a veterinarian)
Find a 24-hour animal hospital that provides emergency services within your area. Keep the facility's contact information in a place that's easy to locate, such as the refrigerator, address book, or smartphone. Most veterinary clinics operate on standard business hours and are not equipped to handle emergencies.
Veterinary clinics operate on a smaller scale than animal hospitals. The latter are more likely open 24 hours and provide emergency services. The former generally operate on typical office hours and only perform wellness exams and minor surgeries. Veterinary clinics also do not generally perform laboratory tests on site.
The specifics vary depending on the type of visit. For a wellness exam, bring:
  • Medical records
  • The type or brand of food the pet eats
  • Medication (including flea, tick, and heartworm medication).
If the animal needs medical treatment, the following may be helpful depending on the situation:
  • Fresh stool sample
  • Vomit sample
  • Video of the pet engaging in abnormal behavior
  • Substance the pet may have ingested
