Starlight Optical Inc.,
Located on Gravesend Neck Rd and East 15 St, the ladies at Starlight Optical provide 100% customer service without making it about the sale. The Manager and I think she is an owner (Marina) and her Sales Associates never rushed me or added pressure, Before going there I've looked at frames at other stores. Price that I've paid at Starlight Optical was less then in any other stores that I've been to.I felt like I made an excellent choice with my purchase. Everyone was attentive to detail to my own personal concerns . I noticed how patient Marina was with the previous difficult customer.I'm very happy I went here. After the initial visit, the turn around time to pick up my new eyeglasses was about two days. I would definitely return to Starlight Optical in the future for additional eyeglasses.

Starlight Optical Inc.,
I was very happy with the glasses I purchased. Friendly sales staff, great prices plus ultra great service and plenty of off street parking. Marina - in particular - who is a manager or owner - is amazing. Helped me from start to finish with purchase of two pairs. Very satisfied with every interaction and the results. I also must rave about the doctor who examined me. He was thorough and very helpful. If you need frames and lenses, go there!. I would highly recommend that place to all.

Insight Optical
I know the other review here is from 2008 but I need to balance out the rating. I've just switched to this mom-and-pop corner store from a cold and surly optometrist, and I found the service friendly, the frame selelction good, and the exam top-notch. Why not 5 stars? Because I've only been with them three weeks and who knows how the relationship will evolve? You have to reserve top marks until you've had the aftercare. I might well amend then--but I like everything so far.

Pearle Vision
Dr. Steinman is absolutely amazing! He is very professional, friendly, and makes me feel comfortable asking questions about my eye care... That being said, the staff are the complete opposite. They made me feel like an idiot because I didn't understand the insurance policy on one visit and they ridiculed me "quietly" while I was standing right there. I have been going there for years but will not be returning. Sorry Dr. Steinman.

Couture Optical
I personally had a really great experience here. I have been going back here for quite some time now because their selection of eyewear is better than the other optical places I have been to in Brooklyn and their prices for designer glasses are great. Their staff is really warm and friendly and their eye doctor was super professional each time I went.

Kings Optical
I stopped in here because I needed new glasses. I did not have to make an appointment. Their customer service was superb and their frames were very reasonable! When I did the eye exam, the optician even told me that the prescription in my current glasses were stronger than what I needed. I am glad I took the chance and stopped in here.

Giraffe USA
I passed by this store on a Bay Parkway and saw that they are selling Brand name sunglasses. Was wondering how many nice frames they have. They have huge amount of Mustang sunglasses which I am a fun of. Also I bought Ray ban pair from them and I love them very much. Will come back with my wife again. Thank you!Amshari Dulan

Firstly, this location in Brooklyn is near me. Secondly, there is a large selection of all types of designer eyewear and glasses. Additionally, the optometrist is experienced and works hard to perform comprehensive eye exams to determine and maintain the health of the eyes. Great place!
Tips & Advices
A regular eye exam focuses on the general health of your eyes, while a contact lens exam is focused specifically on how your eyes react to contact lenses. A contact lens exam tests how well you see while wearing contacts. Your eyes are also evaluated to make sure your tear ducts produce enough tears to allow you to comfortably wear contact lenses.
The cost of contact lenses depends on the type of lens being purchased and the vision problem that is being corrected. For nearsightedness, you'll be able to purchase a box of six lenses for roughly $25. Each lens needs to be replaced after a couple of weeks, which will require you to purchase 10 boxes of lenses each year, for a total of $250 per year. Contact lenses that treat other conditions like astigmatism and presbyopia are more expensive, and can cost $500-$700 a year.
Some people may experience certain side effects when wearing contact lenses. Dry eyes may result, and some people may experience eye or eyelid inflammation. Some contact lens wearers may also develop allergic reactions to the liquid contact lens solution that is used to clean and disinfect the lens.
The cost of an eye exam can range $50-$250 or more. The cost will depend on the tests that are included, and whether the exam involves a contact lens fitting. The cost of the test will also hinge on whether the exam is performed by an optometrist or ophthalmologist.
An eye exam typically takes 20-30 minutes. If additional tests are required, the process could take longer. Eye exams test your sight, but they are also used to make sure your eyes are in good health. During the test, your eye care professional will ask if you've been experiencing any problems with your vision. Your eyes will be examined using a device known as an ophthalmoscope, and the movement of coordination of your eyes will be checked.
