I am very disappointed with the care provided at this facility. It is run like a patient mill. The wait times are long and the doctors are not genuine in hearing your concerns. Instead it seems like a profit machine. They are more concerned about recommending you for multiple treatments so that they can bill your insurance plan. I will never recommend anyone to this facility for urologic care.

My dear grandfather is a 85 years old, holocaust survivor! On June 6 he broke his hip and we had no way to get him to a hospital in NY city, Which is why we took him to Coney Island Hospital. What a mistake! The operation went well, but what happened later became a nightmare and i still haven't woken from it! Don't get me wrong, there are some great people on the staff ,but there are a lot of very rotten ones ! They look at the screen of the computer, and the people to them are just a number. On July 4th ,my grandfather was in bed with a dirty diaper full of bowels and urine for four hours until we got there and called the administrator!I We could not stop crying ,the last time my grandfather was in situation like this was in concentration camp! but this is only the start! My Mother is a 62 year woman, and on the 28 of june she was assaulted by hospital police for talking outside of the main entrance to me about my grandfathers care. He did not like her kind (Russian) and made it very clear The Gorilla of a man, 6 foot 4, 350 lb, told her to stop talking and because she didn't, he threw her against the wall and down and smilled about it Then they tried to cover it up,but its all on video and criminal charges were filled with real police! Please people think twice, before you leave your loved ones in this hell hole!! Other issues 1) My grandfather had an order in the computer to be sat up in a chair so he doesn't get bed sores and deteriorate. It took them 8 days to finally sit him because each department was blaming the other. Be advised, at coney island hospital, you need to be the biggest advocate of your loved one, i just feel sorry for those who have no one to fight for them! 2) Do not let the religious woman on the 7th floor step down unit of the new building next to your family, I do not want to give names but she is horrible and someone who does nothing while trying to look busy all the time all the while blaming others for care not being given. 3) Make sure the hospital doesn't decide to drug your family member by giving them xanax 4 times a day to make their job easier. 4) DO NOT BRING YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS THERE!!! RUN!!!

I've been using this clinic now for over 20 years. After having used quite a few others, this was truly the best of the best! I do rescue work with all living things and many times have emergencies coming in, and am never turned away because they are strays from the outside. The care and compasion given here is not to be believed. No matter what state the animals are, they are always treated with the highest respect and care, never turned away because they are "just strays"! I am totally devastated that this clinic will be closing its doors, after 35 years, on December 19th 1015, due to Dr. Jon A Hunziker finally retiring! It's been in the cards now for around 20 years, but who ever would have believed the day would come that it would actually come true. There is NOBODY to take his place, nobody. Don't quite know what to do after closing day, I hope I don't have any need for vets after that!! All my years I have been praying for the well being and good health of Dr. Hunziker, that he should be able to carry on his good work, and now he is retiring!! I hope God looks down at him kindly and pays him back for all the good he has done for His creatures all these decades.

Most of their nurses are very unproffessional have street mouths and treat the patients as if they are dealing with a mentally ill person that doesn't know any better. I happen to be someones healthcare proxy that is and will be a inpatient of theirs continuously for the rest of her life she has sickle cell and mostly goes because she having what they call a crisis. The nurses gather together to complain and gossip about patients that they don't want to take care of. They don't know about PCA machines which are useful for a patient that gets repeated dosages every so many hours. It seem as if the Nursing Supervisor and the Administrator are coddling them and really letting them do whatever they want. Yes I have complained to where I am almost recognised by most and I put in a complaint with the Dept. of Health and they continue to behave in the same manner. Most of the doctors I have no complaint about but there are those with the high and mighty attitude thank god her doctor isn't one of them. They give no patient that takes pain medication it on time, wait period can be up to 2 or 3 hours late for some a dose may be missed because of it. They over medicated my cousin not Knowing how to use the PCA machine ( which they won't say she almost died but I know when a person is so unconciouse that it takes another medication to kind of bring them out of it they were almost gone and it took her hours to totally become aware of what had almost happened and was going on). They degrade them by laughing in their face. For them to do what needs to be done my aunt and I have to stay on their backs. To me thats not good staffing.

Since I was a kid I always thought LICH was a great caring hospital because my dad worked there and so did family friends. However, I never realized how truly amazing the doctors/hospital was until my dad became a patient. The day my dad was sick we went to another hosptal beforehand because of proximity and was turned down! We were asked to ""wait"" in the seating area with 30 ppl as my dad complianed about chest pain. We immeditately left and knew LICH would not turn us down and provide us the proper care we need! LICH not only diagonsed the problem right away but they were able to save my dad's life and we are truly THANKFUL for what this hospital did for my family. LICH represents what a hospital should be.

I fell and broke my rotator cuff, shattering it into 5 pieces. I was taken by ambulance to Wycoff Heights' Emergency Room, where I waited more than 6 hours before being seen. I am oxygen-dependent, my own oxygen ran out, and they were unable to provide me with any while I was waiting. Neither did they offer me so much as a tylenol for the excruciating pain. When the doctor's saw me they offered surgery as the only option. I checked myself out, against medical advice, and since it was by now early evening, opted to stay overnight at a relatives until they could take me in the morning to a good hospital's ER- where I received immediate and proper care and treatment (no surgery!) Wycoff Heights should be closed, it doesn't even meet third-world standards for care.

Lila Shams is a terrible nurse. I have no idea how she could have possibly passed the tests necessary to get her nursing license. She has no medical intelligence what so ever. Pair that with her snotty attitude and she could possibly be the worst nurse I've ever dealt with. She takes more pain-killers at work than she gives out to her patients. She should be ashamed to call herself a nurse and her license should be revoked.
