Miran Salgado MD
My experience with Dr. Miran Salgado and his staff has been such a life changing and miraculous one! As a mother, wife and teacher, being diagnosed with Parkinson's in my early fifties was devestating. This disease slowed me down tremendously and simple motor skills became challenging. Since I have been under the supervision of this caring, supportive and professional doctor and his staff, I have regained so much of my former self. I feel more energized and am enjoying much better quality of life once more. Dr. Salgado helped me understand all I needed to know about my condition, available treatment, lifestyle adjustments and additional supportive services accessible to me. The medication Dr. Salgado prescribed has being very effective in treating my condition. I'm truly greatful to God for having met Dr. Miran Salgado, his Physician Assistants Tara and Jackie and all the other members of this amazing team of care givers! The genuine warmth and concern for the welfare of their patients creates a platform for all they do. Thank you so much guys!!! You rock!!! God Bless You!!!

Had a few simple questions about my scar whose stitches were just taken out and I told his receptionist that I preferred to ask him the questions. I asked if she could have him call me when he had a free minute. Neither his receptionist nor the doctor called me back. When I called in to inquire I was told by the receptionist, "the doctor already told you everything when you had the stitches taken out. If you want to speak to him directly, you need to schedule a consultation and pay $300." She told me that i could ask her, but that i would need to come in and pay to speak to the doctor. I didn't need a consultation, just had a few questions that I preferred to ask him versus the assistant. If I am asking her the questions, to just ask him the questions, what is the difference? I think this isn't right. I will probably pay for a consultation with a new doctor, but not to the person who I already paid for a procedure, but cannot be bothered to speak to me directly. Horrendous!

Rodney Leibowitz DDS
Dr. Leibowitz is not only a amazing Doctor, but is a incredible human being. I went to his office and was greeted by a warm and friendly staff as soon as I walked in. I needed MAJOR dental work and was scared and apprehensive to say the least. After meeting with Dr. Leibowitz and discussing my options I decided to go with the mini implant procedure. Dr. Leibowitz sat and explained the entire procedure and answered all my questions patiently. He told me that I would need 6 extractions, 4 root canals and 9 implants. He also explained the low cost financing his office offers. He told me the whole procedure would take 3 visits. You read that correctly 3 visits! Suffice to say he was a man of his word. 3 visits later I was able to smile for the first time in years. Truly a life changing experience. His staff is friendly. And his office is extremely clean. He not only is my dentist, but I consider him family now! Thank you Rod for helping me smile at the world again. Jason

Leonid Levit Dental P.C.
Usually I am not writing review, I am recommending good doctor to my friends. I got hundreds appreciations from my friends who visited Dr.Levit. By my experience this doctor is doing very high professional work, very accurate, neat and knowledgeable doctor plus I never had problems with billing question, nether with waiting delay. The few seals which doctor did are staying already over 5 years. In last year I broke my front tooth, I thought that I would need crown, that it will take long time, I cannot open up my mouth. I called doctor and in the same day after my work time he fixed my tooth. All my co-workers were amazed, because on next day they could see that my broken tooth seemed as never was broken. All procedure was done for 3 min. The previous review shocked me because so negative respond could be written only by very jealous person who hated Russian.

Progressive Dentistry P.C. Brooklyn - Alex Rabichev DDS
I've been a patient of Dr. Anna Rabichev's for a few years now. I was originally referred to her by a friend who'd always raved about her rare combination of gentleness and superior professional knowledge and skill. Finally I asked for a referral and could not be happier that I did. Unlike much of what I've experienced in the past and continue hearing of other dentists, Dr. Anna is very particular about preserving my existing teeth and treating them back to health , and while others are happy to do more painful and expensive procedures, she has just the skill and superior knowledge to save the teeth I have and regenerate them to a level of health and wellness others told me not to count on. Couldn't recommend her enough. Oh and she seems to have the lightest hand I've ever experienced. Turns out dental work doesn't have to equal suffering.

I can tell that I have had a good experience being a patient of the doctor Joseph Shyknevsky. The office itself looks really good as a design wise and very clean. The atmosphere in the office is calm and inviting. Receptionists are polite, and receptionists call to a patient to remind about following appointment. Dr Joseph Shyknevsky knows his job very well, so I trust this doctor. He actually convinced me to save one of my teeth instead of pulling it out, and I am glad that this doctor cares about well being of his patients. I have heard from people who referred me to this doctor that Dr. Shyknevsky specializes in the installation of implants, and does it well and fast so a patient experiences less discomfort. In other word, I had a good experience going to a dentist and definitely recommend this dentist!!

Ovchinsky, Alexander, MD
I have had the smoothest, most caring experience with Dr. Alexander Ovchinsky. Starting with the office staff, and ending with the doctor himself I truly felt taken care of. Going into surgery I was as nervous as could be but I knew I was in good hands as I was able to contact the staff with any questions, at any time. Dr. Alexander Ovchinsky has hands of gold, and I mean that. He is work is neat. At our consultation he took he is time to hear me out and he delivered just as I requested. The entire experience felt like a breeze. Recovery was smooth and as short as a couple of days. I was back up and running around, and back to work after 10 days! I get compliments from people around me all the time, and I will always recommend Dr. Alexander Ovchinsky.

Chavkin, Diana E
We started seeing Dr Chavkin Aug of 2014 after we had 3 pregnancy losses. she's very personable and kind. rare for a doctor to take her time to really talk to her patient and lay out the concerns and the next steps to take. i have an abnormal liver enzymes and she made sure i got cleared from all the liver tests before we even got started with the fertility treatment. she's strict and will push you to be healthy which is what i needed. she recommended me to see a nutritionist in Nov 2014 and i'm glad i listened to her. we did 3 tries of iui. we started Jan 2015 and now we're very happy to share the great news that we're pregnant. Dr Chavkin's nurses and staff are amazing as well. praying that this blessing is for us time.

Brooklyn Dental
Dr. Amirian has been my dentist for few years and I'm confident to recommend him to anyone who needs any type of dental treatment. As his patient I can tell you that he will make sure you are comfortable and he would defiantly release all your fears. I normally used to need the oxigen but now I don't anymore. I trust him and his team. I did not feel any pain while I got an implant. He has a gently touch, you barely feel his hands. He is down to earth and takes his time explaining every step , shows me before and after pictures of his current patients and even draws procedures. He has a great personality. He makes me feel that I'm visiting a friend rather than a dentist. Highly recommended to anyone who lives in NY.

Manhattan Avenue Family Dental
DOCTORS AND STAFFS IS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE ALSO FRIENDLY.I came to Manhattan Avenue family dental for a routine cleaning. The receptionist was very nice and I was seen within five minutes of me arriving to the office. I saw Dr.Nassem and he was great! He was nice and very informative. Hygienist talked to me throughout my cleaning and gave me suggestions. The office was nice and clean. Even after my cleaning the woman that works in insurance coordinator took the time out to show me how much future procedures would cost, and how much my insurance would cover. I will definitely be back to see Dr.Naseem in the future! I have finally found a new dentist home!
Tips & Advices
  • If a tooth decays and the nerves or pulp (soft internal tissue which helps teeth develop) become inflamed or infected
  • If a tooth is cracked or broken and nerves are exposed
This generally depends on any specific issues you wish to address with your teeth. There are toothpastes designed to whiten teeth, fight cavities, decrease sensitivity, prevent bad breath, resist gingivitis, and those specific to children (with lower fluoride content). There are also toothpastes that offer “complete” protection by combining aspects of many of the above toothpastes.
It’s recommended to get a professional cleaning at least two times per year.
  • Desensitizing toothpaste numbs the nerves in the teeth that can cause discomfort.
  • Mouth guard can protect against grinding teeth during sleep.
  • Fluoride treatment can be applied by dentists to sensitive areas to numb teeth and strengthen enamel.
  • Root canal can treat problems in a tooth’s core.
  • Surgical gum graft where a piece of gum tissue is removed from a section of the mouth to cover an exposed root.
Not everyone needs to have their wisdom teeth removed, but there are certain signs that can help you and your doctor determine if yours should be:
  • Wisdom teeth are pushing other teeth around, causing pain and misalignment
  • Cysts form around newly emerged wisdom teeth, causing jaw damage
  • Gums get inflamed and swollen, causing cavities and pain
  • Doctor determine from x-rays that wisdom teeth will cause problems in the near future
