Glenwood Construction
I googled for roofing companies near Forest hills , Queens. I saw reviews for Glenwood and called Glenwood Construction on 12/07/2013 around 9:30, A gentlemen by the name of Tahir answered the phone. Made a commitment to showing up between 2-3 PM same day. His crew was right on time, they went straight to work , identified the problem on the roof, located the leak and resolved the issue by putting flashing. After payment the lead person fixing the problem, I called Tahir to follow up to ensure that they stand by their work. I was very impressed . I was assured by Tahir that he stand by his work and he told me to call back if there was any problems. I would recommend this company, update : 12/09---- I still found water coming into my bedroom. Called Tahir after hours ( around 8:00 PM) he was very professional, pick up the phone after hours, told me he will talk to his staff and have somebody at my house on Wednesday 11/11 as tomorrow is a snow day.... After looking into the problem on my end , i found out that it was not the roof but the pipe inside my bedroom had a bad connection....Glenwood did the right thing by sealing the nails on my roof .... I must say that Glenwood stands behind their work and i will definitely do business with them again. God bless people like Tahir who inspite of running a business in an industry that is not reliable for the most part, address the customers needs and stand behind their work.

NYC Royal Stairs
Dear Boris, First of all, let me wish you Shana Tovah. Second, I must thank you for the amazing job you did on our stairs! I hadn't imagined it being as beautiful as it is! It is hard for me to imagine that one person can look at the stairs, design something so beautiful, make it so perfectly, and install it without any problems! You did it all! And, George and I are absolutely thrilled with it! We had family here today, and everyone is amazed. We just cannot thank you enough. I also love what you did with the approach to the dock, and it will make all the difference. I am sure that George told you about one and only dunk in the lake (!) and you suggested that the other railing be used on the dock, itself. I think that will be great! And, it is a way to get you back here:) Why not come on a weekend with your girlfriend? We will all install the railing and then, have drinks and a nice dinner? Again, many, many thanks for an incredible job incredibly well done. laurie gilkes (and george maniscalco)

Amazing amazing and amazing!!! My husband and I came home from a weekend to find that our master bathroom and all the hardwood floors in our bedroom had been completely destroyed from water damage. Rafi and his Team from Kings Roofing & Construction came to our rescue! From the start they were extremely professional efficient honest and punctual. They showed us and our home a lot of respect. Our biggest concern was timing and quality as we needed our bathroom and bedroom completed asap. Although they worked long hours, my bathroom and flooring was complete within the promised 6 days. The final product speaks for itself!!! I could not have asked for anything more :)They were very polite, courteous, and professional. Their price was very fair so I paid them a little extra because they did more than I could have expected. I was so impressed with these quality young men that I will probably use them again to build a new block wall and pour a cement walkway.

Deluxe Altering & Remodling Contractors
Deluxe Improvement has done extensive work for our coop in clinton hill and took care of some old serious issues in our building, such as work on our cornice and roof, staircase repair, repointing, fixing the poor electrical wiring all over, painted the hallway, changed windows. They did it the right way, gave us all the insurances, required that we file for a permit, and took care of all the necessary filing and got all the approvals fast. Very easy to stay in touch with, always received quick email updates and responses. Shawn, our estimator gave us a  full walk-through to ensure satisfaction after job completion. We requested some minor touch ups in the hallway, which they fixed the following week. Everyone in the building was very happy with the work. If your looking for a hard working, reliable contracting company Deluxe Improvement is my number one choice.

Glenwood Construction
Our sidewalk had a serious situation. We reviewed several companies and chose Glenwood Construction. We contacted Tahir and he came that afternoon. He spent time explaining to us what had to be done and spent time answering any questions we had. The workers came on time, knew what had to be done and began working immediately. Before they left the job site they made sure the site was clean, they even cleaned the wrought iron fence of cement splatter that appeared during the pouring of the cement. Tahir called us while the men were working to see if we were satisfied with how the work was proceeding. After the work was completed he called again asking if we were satisfied with the work and told us how to care for the new sidewalk. We are more than satisfied with Tahir, the workers and Glenwood Construction Company.

Bobby's Twins Contracting Inc
Bobby did an extensive remodeling job on my father in laws house in Gravesend. The house had not been touched since the 1950s and needed a lot of work. He gave a fair estimate and the finished job was beautiful.Another thing my husband and I appreciated is that Bobby treated my father in law with great respect and my FIL was old, ill and difficult to deal with. He had an opinion on everything and told Bobby's work men what her thought. The entire crew treated my FIL well and we were very pleased with them. The estimate was fair and the job well done. Bobby even did a few customr touches here and there which made the house look like something from a magazine.

Rh Construction USA, Inc
Minar painted the exterior of my landmark townhouse. He and his staff were professionals. His attention to detail, which was essential because he had to follow NYC Landmarks' rules, and willingness to please the customer were a plus. His prices are reasonable and he is reliable. He oversees all of his work and is easy to reach. My neighbors were so impressed with the job he did and by his professionalism, that some asked him to work on their homes as well. I will definitely us RH Construction USA, Inc. again and highly recommend them.

Shawn Patrick Inc
Shawn Patrick has work on many projects for me. I have never had a problem with the work. Roy, who is responsible for the work will take full responsibility for the job done by his men. If you are not happy with the work Roy will work with you unti you are satisfied. He will do the job you hired him for and not try to Yyou that any other work has to be done in order to complete the job. He is honest and trustworthy. As far as him charging a higher price, well, you know, you get what you pay for .
Tips & Advices
If there is ever a dispute regarding payment over the course of the project, a contractor or subcontractor could place a payment claim, or lien, on your property. To avoid this, ask the contractor to sign a lien release, which is a legal agreement that states that any payment accepted is final. This can come in handy if a contractor has his or her own payment issues with their subcontractors. Signing a lien release form certifies that any payment made by a client to the contractor is enough to pay for any goods or services rendered.
Absolutely ask. Paying too much up front offers the homeowner minimal leverage if the quality of work does not meet expectations or contractual specifications. Try to establish a reasonable pay schedule, such as paying 10 percent of the total cost for each 10 percent of the work that is completed. Include this payment plan in the contract, as well.
Before any money changes hands, there should be a contract to sign. Make sure the specifics of the work and all costs are listed in the contract, including details. If you forget to have something included in the contract after signing it, there's rarely a chance of recourse.
Ask the contractor for proof of their certification before signing anything, as well as their proof of insurance. You should also check your homeowners insurance policy to see if they offer coverage for contracted work. You may want to call your insurance provider and ask for more details on what your plan will and won't cover.
Yes. Plans for how the work site will be cleaned at the end of each day as well as at the conclusion of work need to be put in writing. An experienced general contractor should make every effort to keep the workspace clean and prevent dirtying or damaging any other area. Even so, talk with the contractor about the daily schedule, the logistics of transporting workers and equipment, and how cleanup will be handled.

Just a moment...
