RR Plumbing Roto-Rooter
We had a plumbing issue in the kitchen today, on a Sunday before Labor Day! Perfect time when everyone is away and most will charge a arm and a leg on emergency calls. Roto Rooter came within 2 hours and resolved our issue in no time. Well worth the money. And very courteous crew and service!!! Highly recommend!

Nivelo Shoe Repair Corp
TERRIBLE. This Hispanic man who seemed to be in his mid 30's was extremely nasty to me upon arrival. From the time I walked in, I sensed his resentment. It boggles me the attitudes thrown from one minority to another, but I digress. I'm a very polite and respectable person. He over charged me, told me my shoe wouldn't be done in days and demanded that I paid him up front! The nerve . I politely told him that his attitude was unsettling, and that id be taking my shoe else where. He mocked me in front of other customers as I exited. * Note to other customers * go to ANOTHER SHOE REPAIR. There's tons in north Riverdale with lower prices, courteous service and cleaner stores!

Ted Shoe Repair
For starters they are within walking distance, used Ted Shoe repair to stretch a pair of new ankle high boots which were too snug- I found them reasonably priced and very nice folks, will use them again if need be!

so never call them if you have an emergency they will never come if your water heater cracks and its field in your basement with water they won't come to help you even though you have a contract that you pay for the workers have no humanity and no kindness they treat you like you're a jerk you pay for a service and you hold for their help they never come I'm so disappointed for a company that was recommended to me by neighbors and friends who have also dropped their services it's an embarrassment to even have them on Angie's List their work is poor they don't care they don't come to do the regular maintenance on your water heater and boiler to update to make sure that both are functioning properly the workmen do not give you the information you need in layman's terms to help you understand and to maintain both your water heater and boiler when you call them a very rude lady answered the phone and she never has an answer for you they say they will call you back when you have an emergency and they never do several times we've had to call other workman and now we're going to drop their contract because they are a piece of crap no one use them they don't care for their customers they have no courtesy no kindness I do not recommend this company at all terrible Workers terrible customer service

A F J Gas Heat Svce
I have had a contract with AFJ for many years. I highly recommend them! My heat stopped working last night. I called at 6am this morning, and someone was at my home around 8am, and fixed the problem. Best part was, that it was covered under the contract! Honest, reliable and now my home is toasty warm!
Tips & Advices
  • Are you licensed and registered?
  • Are you insured and bonded?
  • How many years have you been in business?
  • What, if any, professional associations do you belong to?
  • May I have a list of references?
  • Do you offer a written warranty for your work?
  • Will I need a permit for this work?
It is important to have a written warranty for any work or repairs done to the plumbing in your house, especially if it is a major repair. Look for a professional  who is willing to  stand by his or her work.
Before you hire a plumber, contact their past customers if you're able to. These people can be a wealth of information if you ask them the right questions. Pose the following queries to these former patrons when you get the chance:
  • Were you pleased with the work done?
  • Was the project completed on time?
  • Did the plumber give you a written warranty and guarantee his or her work?
  • Were there any unexpected costs that arose?
  • Would you hire this plumber again? If not, why?
A permit provides added assurance that the work is done correctly. Having this in place means an inspector will check the work your contractor or plumber does to ensure he or she did the job correctly. If you plan on putting your house or commercial building on the market, a real estate agent and prospective buyers will want to check any large work you did to make sure it was done properly.
A trustworthy plumber will have both commercial liability insurance as well as be bonded. The insurance and the bond protects the plumber from paying for any damages made to your house out of pocket. Having professionals that carry both of these policies can protect all of you from any mishaps that could occur while they work on your building.
