Tuffy Auto Service Centers
These are dishonest, lying, incompetent crooks. I took my wife's car in for an AC problem early Friday morning. They called me later that day and said she had a high pressure valve leak and it would be $200. I gave the go ahead and they called me Saturday afternoon to say it was ready. We picked it up and the AC stopped working a half mile later. They had told me their work was guaranteed. It was too late to take the car back and they were closed Sunday and Monday. We returned Tuesday at 0700 and left the car. The manager, Jason, called me around 10am and said the evaporator was leaking and it would cost an additional $1150. They had the car for 2 days prior and supposedly use dye to check for leaks but could not find it? He replaced a part that had already been replaced a month before. They made excuses for being incompetent but I gave him the go ahead to fix it as my wife will not drive without AC and I was having to use her car. So he promised the car in 2 days. I went by on Wednesday afternoon to check the progress as the hurricane was coming and they had not even touched it. I had had it with these idiots. I asked for a refund of my $200 as they had not fixed anything and I doubt they actually even did the dye test which they charged me $150 for. The owner, Darren, refused to credit my money back. I asked to see the part he had replaced but he didn't have it. I doubt he replaced it. We argued and he put his hands on me. I told him to never touch me again or I would file assault charges. I left. This is a very bad outfit. I advise everyone to stay away. I intend to pursue the $200 in small claims and I also considering filing assault charges.

Advanced Auto Repair and A/C Specialists
Without a doubt the best shop in town. Saved me a ton of money and time. The ordered my starter for my work truck the day before installing it. I stopped by the next morning before my first job and they had it installed in less then 30 minutes. They have worked on my other vehicles as well and I am always impressed with their work and prices.

Mike Hamilton's Performance Automotive
I have been going to Mike Hamilton ' s shop. I tell everyone who needs work done to go to him. I trust him. One of the times I went to a shop closer to my home because mike was busy and the other shop could get me in immediately. They said so much was wrong with my van that I left in was a huge list. I took that list to mike and he told me what I really needed. My bill went from over $3500 to less than $100. When I saw that I'd be the first to review him - I am honored. He is a treasure. YAHOVAH BLESS HIM.

Bradenton Auto Clinic
I do not recommend this company. I was taken advantage of TWICE! I purchased 2 "Get Acquainted Specials" which offered free oil changes for 1 year (along w/ all the extras, tire rotation, fluid fill-up, etc). When we dropped my wife's car I asked that he rotate tires & he agreed to. When she returned to the shop, he attempted to upcharge because he used synthetic oil. She refused to pay extra & left. I went over her car & found nothing else to be touched but the oil & filter. Because I already paid for the "special" I returned with my VW for oil change & specifically asked for "all the free stuff listed on the coupon (AC inspection, tire rotation, inspect CV boots, brakes, belts, hoses & more). I too only received new oil & filter. I also asked to have my K&N filter removed, cleaned & replaced, it cost me $30. I found this very unreasonable as my regular mechanic never charged me for this service. In addition, I received a phone call from the owner about an hour after dropping my car & he tells me I have a "bad oil leak" coming from the top of the motor. I told him I don't have the money right now (because I didn't believe him) & he responded with "that's okay, you can do it next time you bring your car in for an oil change." How about that, a mechanic tells you to drive your 5 year old car another 5k miles with an oil leak. You be the judge.
Tips & Advices
Many companies, both local and nationwide, specialize in automotive glass repair and replacements. Drivers should contact their insurance companies to find glass or auto repair shops in their network.
Windshield damage from anything other than a vehicle collision (including vandalism, storms, fires, and animals) is often covered by optional comprehensive coverage. Drivers should keep in mind that some plans only cover the side and back windows but not the front windshield. Without coverage, drivers must pay the entire cost of repairs or replacements.
Small windshield repairs can be finished in 30 minutes, while windshield replacements take about an hour.
The adhesives used in windshields need at least one hour to cure, so drivers must wait before getting back on the road.  Similarly, drivers should wait at least 24 hours after a windshield repair or replacement before washing their cars. The water and chemicals in the soap can weaken the adhesive. Because of the additional pressure involved, drivers should wait three days after repairs or replacements before going through an automated car wash.
Replacing a windshield costs between $150 and $300 on average.
