I was recently in Astro Auto Salvage and happen to be graced with exceptional customer service and would like to share my experience! I needed a part for my car that I had been putting off and called the number on the building and was greeted with a friendly voice "hello' Astro Auto Salvage how can I help you" I told him what I was looking for and he said I'm sure we have it and if not I can get some information from you and call you when we get it or when it comes in. Wow! I thought' that's the way to conduct business!> I have called other part places and they say the name and what'a ya' need? Nope' and hang up!I came in and was greeted with a friendly smile from Lenny and a "how are you today" I replied' great thank you! I told him I had just called' and asked me exactly what I needed and looked it up, it was in stock. While waiting, a young man entered and asked for a part,,,Lenny quotes the price and the man throws down half the cash' expecting him to take it and Lenny repeats the price again...the man grabs his cash' turns around to leave and cusses out a few vulgar words! Lenny says' with a kind voice' > with true sincerity "have a nice day" and with absolutely > no sarcasm. I was so impressed! I said' I cant believe you never lost your temper! He said it's fine' it's a new part and that's the price' they sell it for a lot more at other places. > I have seen so many people pocket the money' never write a receipt' kick and cuss someone right out the front door in front of everyone! I was the only customer in the store when the part came. It looked rather long and thought it might not fit. He could see I was parked right outside the front door and I asked if I could take it to my car to see if it would, and he said sure! I went out and could see that it did, but noticed it had a special bolt that I hadn't seen before and wasn't sure if I had the right tool for this. When I came back in, Lenny could see the confusion on my face and said let me take a look' he came around the counter and as I stood there with the door cracked'' to hear the phone, in less than a minute' it was done!I got my wallet out to pay and the phone rang' he said excuse me' answered and it sounded to me like it was a part that needed to be shipped. He put the person on hold and asked if I had a minute and if it was okay to take the call? I reassured him I was fine' to take as much time as he needed' and that I was in no rush, sat down on the bench and drank my coffee. The door opened and two different men walked in then another, no one was together. He acknowledged everyone with a smile and said to the other two customers he'd be right with them. Lenny was amazing! It was like a well executed dance! He was answering the phone' taking down information, printing out a receipt's, putting information in the computer' getting parts' and still giving 100% great customer service! While doing all this' even stops to say' are you still okay? I was like yes' thank you for asking' I'm fine! > I was so impressed' and touched that he even took the time to help me that I was willing to give him all the time he needed! After the rush and paying I said' thanks again Lenny, your running your business the way it should be' I'll definitely be back and will be referring people to this place' for sure! He says, thank you' but I'm not the owner, to my shock' I couldn't believe it!? He thanked me' wished me a great day and said if we can ever help you again with anything' just give us a call! I have never witnessed such honesty' pride' or treated with such respect.It was my first visit and I have never felt more like a valued customer! If Lenny is a reflection of the owner and his establishment, then this is the place to get the best prices on all your car parts and exceptional service!
I was looking for floor mats to fit my 1999 Honda CRV, Dana found a set right away but it was an odd fit and didn't work in my car so he kindly suggested a couple of places where I may find them. Then, I asked him if he sold bumpers, or if there was anything that I could do to bring back the shine in the faded trim on my car. He went inside, came out, sprayed a mystery can onto a rag, wiped the trim and also the yellow headlights. They became so clear, It was amazing. They looked new! I can't wait to detail my car with the awesome tip. I will not share Dana's trade secret because If you are reading this, then you must be looking for parts so you will have to ask him yourself. As I was leaving, I asked if he knew of a good mechanic and he sent me right next door to Brakes Zone, there I met with Cecilia who told me they have another shop closer to my home where her husband works. Talk about convenience. I'm thrilled that I popped into AAS, Dana made my day and helped me out more than I ever expected. Thanks again!
I am a preffered Astro Auto Salvage customer and I am very disturbed to read the comment made by DPerrin about the products and service provided by Astro Auto Salvage. If anyone would read all the previous comments made, they would see that this is a very professional and courteous establishment. From reading DPerrin's comment, one would have to conclude that a part was bought, taken apart, and they were looking to return the remaining broken parts for a full refund. In other words, If I was to buy a ceiling fan from Home Depot and put my motor in it, Would they refund me for my broken parts? I dont think so! This is a kind and friendly place to shop. Just read all the reviews. Astro Auto Salvage cannot be responsible for one persons misfortunes. Seems this person tried to take advantage of a good business and is unhappy cause they were caught! Keep up the good work Astro in providing the consumers with quality good merchandise with a one year warranty! You guys are the best!
Astro Salvage established a new high standard for customer service in each of the seven times I sought parts for several vehicles. This company and its personnel are knowledgeable, professional and go out of their way to help people solve problems with car parts and lower cost. In several cases, Astro helped me avoid expensive dealership repairs. In one case, a VW dealer refused to provide me with a radio security code, even though my wife was their regular customer. Astro solved the problem in one, less than 3-minute telephone call. Astro is the local advocate for car owners.
Today I had to find a 04 headlight for my Saturn. I called around to a few in the area, like you pick it, plus others and one of them did not have it but could order it and I would get it by Monday. Plus there price was much higher. Then I called Astro Auto Salvage, not only did he have the part (all ready pulled on the shelf), and a reasonable price too. I was greeted with professionalism, plus I did not have to wait long for my part. When I got there I noticed that for salvage place it was pretty picked up.Thank you again for my part and you will see me again.Kim 04 Saturn Ion
This was a pleasant experience. The part I need was priced fair, i/2 the price of new, and the condition was like new.They put the part on my car for a fair price. It was a side mirror for a Cadillac. They stood behind their guaranty, because I saw a double image. Dana ordered a new one for me, and had it put on, and did not charge me a second time for putting it on. This place is honest, you will not be overcharged, and you will get a quality product. This is an excellent place to trust, and do business with. Richard Stein
