Nautilus Senior Home Care
My mother needed a home health care because she fell and broke her back waiting in line to vote, go figure. She needed round the clock care at first and after surgery. We found Nautilus Senior Home Care online and gave them a call, little did we know how well things would go. We could not be happier with the staff and the caregivers that were chosen to assist us during this stressful time for our family. Ask for Patrick, and let him how grateful we are for his support!

A To Z Senior Care
Company owner is rude, disrespectful, bad-mannered and discourteous. This company was contracted to provide senior care services. My communication was with the owner of the agency, Berbet Davis-Cadeau who denied being the owner. Her ownership is a matter of public record and verified. When speaking with the owner to schedule care-giver she was extremely rude toward me, calling me abusive names, raising her voice and eventually hanging up the phone on me. This agency is unprofessional in communications and method of doing business. Caregiver services below standard. The aide did not show up for the first appointment, we re-scheduled to a day and time agreeable to both, then caregiver contacted me shortly before scheduled arrival to make change in the day's schedule because she wanted to go shopping in the afternoon.Unprofessional caregivers and very poor customer service by owner.

Appleton Home Health
We used Appleton for my mom after open heart surgery. Nurses were great. They saved my mothers life. Highly recommend.

Appleton Home Health
Not sure if this agency is still around. My mom used them last fall and they were terrible. Appleton was recommended by JFK hospital. The caregivers were GREAT! but the administration was terrible. They lied to my mom and to me about visit, claiming visits that never occurred. Scheduling was a nightmare since they claimed they couldn't schedule until the day before. One of their workers told my mom that she knew the admin folks lied since if anyone had been to see her it would have been her and she hadn't been there that week. Eventually mom's doctor got her a different agency which was terrific.

Tips & Advices
This depends on the facility. Patients should call to find out if they'll need a referral from their physician prior to making an appointment.
Aside from hyperbaric oxygen treatment, most wound care centers offer:
  • Debridement: The removal of dead skin and tissue surrounding the wound. This can be done surgically, using a whirlpool bath, syringes, enzymes that dissolve the tissue, or wet dressings that dry on the wound and absorb the dead tissue.
  • Dressing: Wrapping the wound in a protective film, gauze, gel, or foam.
  • Compression stockings: Tight-fitted fabric sheaths that encourage blood flow.
  • Artificial skin: A covering that is applied to the wound for several days as it heals.
  • Ultrasound: The use of sound waves to promote healing.
  • Growth factor therapy: The use of materials naturally produced by the body to encourage quick cell growth.
  • Negative pressure therapy: Creating a vacuum around a wound to encourage faster blood flow to the area.
Depending on where the treatment is administered, hyperbaric oxygen treatment  can cost $100- $1,000. After insurance is applied, patients may have a copay of $10 -$50 or a coinsurance fee of 10 percent to 50 percent.
Most wounds should heal within two to six weeks. An individual should seek chronic wound treatment if a wound has not begun to heal after two weeks or is not completely healed after six.
Most health insurance plans cover wound care. Patients should check with the clinic and their health insurance provider before seeking treatment to be sure.
