  • My birds love this store!

I've been a customer of Wings of the World since I was introduced to my first parrot friend about 7 years ago. The parrot and his owner are now a part of my family, and so is this store. I've since purchased two birds from them, and have boarded all three of our birds many times with them.

If you're looking for a down to earth, locally owned store that actually really loves thier birds and customers, this is the place for you. Great place to visit if you're considering adding a bird to your family. No pressure or rush - they encourage you to understand your pet and prepare your home for what will be a long term addition (many of these birds will be with you long aftter the kids leave!). Many customers come in with thier birds for trimming and socializing, so you also can often get the fun and benfits of talking to fellow bird lovers.

I almost hate to come home from vacations, because I swear my birds like to hang out there almost better than at home. Truly a great place for people and pets alike.

This little store is truly one of Seattle's treasures - check them out some Saturday morning - it's a happening place!

A couple of years ago, I shopped around for a companion bird for my pet budgie Buddy. I went to all the chain 'big box' pet stores, and while they dabble in birds, it's not their specialty. Some of the staff weren't very knowledgeable, and it was evident in my asking questions that I knew more from what I had researched on my own than the salesperson.

My quest eventually led me to Wings of the World, A bird store that specializes in a variety of hand raised/fed birds. The store is packed with a plethora of tropical birds--parrots of all varieties, and the popular smaller birds such as finches, budgies and cockatiels. WOTW makes and sells bird feed from scratch that you can buy in bulk. You can also buy bird cages, toys, feed cups--they even have loose stock of bird toys and materials so you can make your own!

The staff is all very knowledgeable and they answered all of my questions (and I had a lot, being a new bird owner!)

I eventually bought a hand raised baby budgie that I took home after he was weaned and eating on his own--he's quite a character-very gregarious and curious...he gets into everything and is quite playful.

WOTW always clips my bird's wings/feet when I take them in and they don't charge for this service. They remember me by name, and show a genuine passion for their work. They may not have the giant selection of the big box stores or the super cheap prices of pet supplies that you buy online, but their service and expertise cannot be matched and this enough to keep me coming back again and again. (Note: as of this writing, they are launching a new online store). They've also boarded my birds when I go on vacation, and the boarding fees are very reasonable. I will definitely buy my next bird from them.

They do not employ a on-staff Veterinarian, which is why I don't give them 5 stars. The big box stores claim their birds are all vet inspected, but I don't know how thoroughly. Being a small family store, this would probably be a big expense. (Bird owners should take their birds to the vet for an annual exam on their own)

Pay a visit to this great little store in Bothell and say hi to the staff and all the feathered friends they carry. It is a bit noisy with all the birds chirping away--some will even talk to you-It's definitely a store worth checking out!
