I recently got the conch of my ear pierced at Ancient Arts Body Piercing and am absolutely in love with it. The prices are extremely reasonable and the service is amazing. I was really nervous about getting the piercing considering I don't have that many but the piercer Matt was extremely nice and answered all of my questions before he pierced me. After I filled out my paper work he talked me through the whole thing and it was quick and painless, it healed in less than a month and I couldn't be happier with it. I would recommend this place to people solely out of the quality of the work and the knowledge of the piercer.

I went to Skin Art to get my first tattoo - custom design by Khoa based on a few sketches that I brought in. Loved the design from first sight! Khoa adjusted it for me a few times to ensure it would be the best possible design and placement. The actual tattoo took some time, he was extremely detail oriented, ended up being BEAUTIFUL and so so BRIGHT. It didn't hurt AT ALL, and by AT ALL I mean if you can let a girl scratch you with her long nails, you can handle a tattoo...although the feeling of getting inked is much more pleasant than of getting scratched :))) Very professional job, but also the people are so kind and gentle and they make you feel so so comfortable. They take their time to explain and go over every single detail, even if you are a whinny female being inked for the first time and a bit anxious about the pain :))) I am sure they can be hard core to the guys too :))) Amazing job Khoa!!! I couldn't be happier!!!

I got a tat today at regeneration tattoo, located in Allston rock city, on Harvard ave, near the pet shop. Apt, was at 1:45, got to the tat by 3. S U E, owner of shop, had spent the evening before drawing up the design, which was a variation of the image I brought her. All clean checks where fine, everything was sterile, and she drilled on me for 2 hours, resulting in the first (id say 75%) of the tat. it came out fraking GREAT. I?ve got nothing but compliments on it today. Pain was minimal in some spots, fairly painful in the ""pit"" of my arm, but overall, it was a very good experience, and I would recommend the shop to anyone in the area looking for some new ink. I will say designs closer to old school, heavy outline, minimal color, high in detail, but low in realism are your best bet. Not keen to portraits, but spot on with some intuitive designs. Bring them something that will challenge but intrigue them,. and you'll get some good ink. 4.75/5 minus a lil for lateness.\r \r PS, im drunk now, will heal tat well, and get shading done in a few weeks, cant wait!\r

Based on the 1 review already written here about Chad, I decided to go to this tattoo parlor. I went in as a walk in. I had a tattoo that needed covering up and the person up front told me that it would require that I make an appointment for cover ups. I asked if I could show it to him and get some recommendations for my next appointment. When he saw how little it was he said ""Oh, that can be done today."" Very accomodating. I finally decided on a butterfly. I didn't have anything in particular in mind but when I was assigned to Chad (yes, I got Chad without having to ask for him... how fateful) he just created the butterfly on the go. I gave him very little specifications around size and color and told him to take off with it.\r \r So a couple of things:\r a) I had the tattoo cover up the name of a former boyfriend. I was afraid that the name would still be detectable under my new tattoo... but it's NOT! It perfectly covers the horrible name that was engraved on my skin a few years earlier.\r 2) When you replace someone's name, you better do it with a tattoo artist that you really like, because face it, everytime you look at your tattoo, you will have the face or experience of the tattoo artist branded in your memory. So I was very happy to replace the idea of my ex with the idea of Chad. He is very friendly, thoughtful, and the conversation was seemless.\r 3) My tattoo was fairly small (the size of a half-dollar at most, so if you do need a cover up, you probably need to make an appointment if you have a large or complicated tattoo to cover.\r 4) If I get another tattoo, I would definitely go back to Chad. I love, love, love, love my butterfly. It wasn't copied from a book or a magazine, so it is an original depiction of an unoriginal species. It is my very own and it is beautiful and I love it.\r \r Highly recommend. Easy to park. If you are waiting, just ask how long the estimated wait will be and get some food in the area.

Went in here over the New Years holiday, with an idea for what I wanted. I first off asked for a quote and being the tattoo novice, asked about a million questions.\r \r The people there were very patient and explained the ups and downs of the tattoo size/pricing/etc. \r \r I decided to pull the trigger and away I went for my 2nd tattoo. Very professional work, but in an environment which I felt very, very comfortable. Very clean as well I must say. I had my work done with Chris, so be on the lookout for him, but seems to me that everyone there is extremely talented. Can't go wrong with anyone it'd seem!\r \r Go check it out if you're in the Allston area.

I got my first tattoo here yesterday, done my the incredible Deirdre Doyle. Everyone who works here is really helpful, and they didn't give me any problems when I realized that I had forgotten my ID and had to send a friend to pick it up, delaying my appointment by about half an hour. The shop is clean and nicely decorated, and they have an awesome selection of bongs and pipes for sale!\r \r As for my tattoo itself, it is gorgeous. I had brought in a printout of the design I wanted, but Deirdre went above and beyond and redrew it with sharper outlines and more lifelike shading. Sure, it hurt a bit, but Deirdre was really gentle and made sure that I was ok the whole time. Now I have two terns taking flight on my shoulder blades, and I couldn't be happier.
