Now it is probably the worst place to eat in Florida! This is sad because when it first opened, it was great...great food and great service. I ate here about two weeks ago...the food was vile. I couple of things ordered they said they did not have. But, thought it was just an off night, so, I went here again for lunch today. I placed my drink order, and Arnold Palmer, half iced tea and half lemonade. The waiter came back and said they did not have lemonade. I ordered shrimp on a skewer. When it arrived, it was covered with bacon. I told the waiter that I did not order shrimp with bacon and found out that it was cooked on a grill and they simply do not clean off the grill on a regular basis. So, the took it back and made a new order. The sauteed spinach was terrible, way too much garlic and it seemed to be steamed, dripping with water and no oil. My friend ordered the rib eye and it was a tiny piece of meat. For dessert, I ordered rice pudding and the waiter came back and said they didn't have rice pudding. So, I ordered a black and white cookie. It was dry and stale. Maybe new owners, who knows, but I noticed both times I was there, the place was virtually empty. Do youself a favor, avoid this place.
LOVE THIS LITTLE PLACE - CONSISTENLY AMAZING FOOD! I really love this little restaurant. The only reasons that I docked them a star is (a) because it's so tiny inside that they have to have the smallest little chairs and tables and the chairs are like little kid's chairs so it's not very comfortable to sit (although I don't mind that they are so small - I think it adds to the quaint character ... I tend to enjoy boutique businesses because of the attention to detail and personalized service) - and - (b) because it's cash only. I understand that credit card fees are expensive but it's hard because every time I want to go there I realize I don't have any cash, so they don't make it very easy or convenient to do business with them that way. Otherwise, it's cute and quaint and the food is absolutely phenomenal. It is consistently great no matter what you order. I've never had a bad dish or glass or bowl of anything here. It's ALWAYS amazing. The raspberry iced tea-lemonade combo is delish & refreshing and the banana cake is to die for. Actually all of their desserts are to die for. Everything is made fresh from the freshest ingredients. I really don't know where of how they get everything so fresh. They also have the best specials like meatloaf and quiche - stuff you just don't get anywhere else. Each dish is so full of flavor, presented nicely and is the perfect size. The soups are also just perfect and again just bursting with freshness and flavor. I feel like I am in my grandma's garden room and she just made me some of her amazing fresh dishes with veggies, fruits and spices from her garden whenever I go there. The owners are also really great - 2 men who are always friendly and working hard. I think they have been around for like 20 years, maybe longer, so they are definitely doing something right! And they are also always crowded, so that also speaks to the quality of the food. I do wish that they were open for breakfast or at least brunch ... and for dinner ... and on the weekends :)! I would go much more frequently if they were open more often and if they took credit cards. I still try to go as often as I am able whenever I am in the downtown Boca Raton area. If you haven't been to the Tin Muffin, make it a point to go - it's a real treat! Just don't forget your cash. Also, when you look at the menu they may seem a little pricey for what you're getting, but once you taste your apps, meals and muffins or desserts, you will know that it's worth every penny. And don't let your visit fall on a diet day because you simply have to get one of their decadent desserts too. TIN MUFFIN IS A DEFINITE GO!
Went to this Chilis (after not going to Chilis in over 2 years) for a special occasion, and what I left with was horrible experience. Not only their food was bad (Bad doesn't even describe, it's more towards gross/vomit), but the employees that they have are thieves. I found a dry hair stuck to the plate and they didn't even found it disgusting or even apologize. The waiter gave himself a 50% tip... What?????? He threw out the original receipt and forged my signature... Here is the kicker the so called "Company" needs to investigate... This is something every frequent that Chilis employees do, just type in a search agent Chilis credit card fraud. This is a criminal act, they should fire this employee but what it seems when speaking to so called management it seems that they are all running this scam. This restaurant and all Chilis restaurants are disgusting... I will never, ever, recommend this dump. I can and will do the opposite... If I could give them a 0 I would put tripadvisor doesn't let me. If you still have the courage and decide to give it a chance just beware of your bank account and make sure you dont get a hair on your plate/food.
