Tin Muffin Cafe
LOVE THIS LITTLE PLACE - CONSISTENLY AMAZING FOOD! I really love this little restaurant. The only reasons that I docked them a star is (a) because it's so tiny inside that they have to have the smallest little chairs and tables and the chairs are like little kid's chairs so it's not very comfortable to sit (although I don't mind that they are so small - I think it adds to the quaint character ... I tend to enjoy boutique businesses because of the attention to detail and personalized service) - and - (b) because it's cash only. I understand that credit card fees are expensive but it's hard because every time I want to go there I realize I don't have any cash, so they don't make it very easy or convenient to do business with them that way. Otherwise, it's cute and quaint and the food is absolutely phenomenal. It is consistently great no matter what you order. I've never had a bad dish or glass or bowl of anything here. It's ALWAYS amazing. The raspberry iced tea-lemonade combo is delish & refreshing and the banana cake is to die for. Actually all of their desserts are to die for. Everything is made fresh from the freshest ingredients. I really don't know where of how they get everything so fresh. They also have the best specials like meatloaf and quiche - stuff you just don't get anywhere else. Each dish is so full of flavor, presented nicely and is the perfect size. The soups are also just perfect and again just bursting with freshness and flavor. I feel like I am in my grandma's garden room and she just made me some of her amazing fresh dishes with veggies, fruits and spices from her garden whenever I go there. The owners are also really great - 2 men who are always friendly and working hard. I think they have been around for like 20 years, maybe longer, so they are definitely doing something right! And they are also always crowded, so that also speaks to the quality of the food. I do wish that they were open for breakfast or at least brunch ... and for dinner ... and on the weekends :)! I would go much more frequently if they were open more often and if they took credit cards. I still try to go as often as I am able whenever I am in the downtown Boca Raton area. If you haven't been to the Tin Muffin, make it a point to go - it's a real treat! Just don't forget your cash. Also, when you look at the menu they may seem a little pricey for what you're getting, but once you taste your apps, meals and muffins or desserts, you will know that it's worth every penny. And don't let your visit fall on a diet day because you simply have to get one of their decadent desserts too. TIN MUFFIN IS A DEFINITE GO!

Salon Pierre & Co
Hello! After checking the reviews online, and hours of searching for a reputable Salon, I decided to give Pierre a shot. It's difficult to decide based on reviews online as many are biased or fluff pieces from owners, employees, friends and even disgruntled past clients. From the moment I walked in greeted by beautiful Stephanie, I felt important. The owner Pierre, with whom I had an appointment from just 30 minutes prior, also welcomed me at the door.I'm not going to get into specifics but this place is nothing short of perfect. Everybody treats you with a huge smile, not forced, and honestly care about you patronizing their humble establishment. The care and precision of everything they do shows that they actually enjoy their jobs and working for Pierre. It feels like a close knit family, one which made me feel a part of. That is very important. Rare ,but important.I not only received the best haircut of my life, but they also suggested that if after a few days, If I needed a change or touch up, to come in and they will correct it, of course free. How many places can you say that about?I wasn't going to buy products, but without solicitation, Pierre found and tried a few products that were specific to my wants and needs for styling and control. I had to have them as I walked out with compliments from strangers and the satisfaction of knowing they had achieved my goal.Go to Salon Pierre.Give them a try, you will not only be impressed, but will walk out feeling like you have just inherited a new family. A beautiful Salon as well.Oh yeah, I made an appointment for a Manicure for the next day with Liz, always smiling and Jovial and English speaking! Liz is so much fun to hang out with, quite a bright girl and REALLY pretty. My nails have never looked better. She has the biggest smile I've ever seen, I would too if I had her teeth. Book with Liz, you'll be glad you did!!I'm a guy that has never had a manicure, but had to try it, because you can just tell these people just won't quit until YOU are satisfied. I'll post back afterwards to tell you how it went.I'd give them more than 5 stars if I could.Give them a chance to prove how good they really are! You won't go anywhere else after them, I promise.Chris CapperYapMap IT!Founder CEOEast Boca Raton, FL

Shores Automotive Inc
I recently moved to Boca, and I was lucky to find these people, very professional, friendly, and honest. I took the car (Dodge Charger 2008) for an oil change, but they also did a general inspection to see if everything was going well. In fact, that is what I wanted to do too.Everything was exactly done the same as what I had experienced at the Dodge dealer shop in Minnesota:1. I scheduled an appointment,2. I left the shop and they called to report3. Billy called me and told me what was wrong with the car, what needed to be done, and how much exactly was it going to cost.4. I had to decide whether I want to authorize the new parts and repairs. NO PUSH.5. I agreed, and Conrad told me to pickup the car one day after that.6. I picked up the car, I received a very detailed and itemized bill, explaining all the new parts and the labors separately.7. I did not check other places for price, but the prices were reasonable to me.8. I had minor concerns (Nothing Serious) and took the car back for a follow up. Concerns were fixed without any additional charges (even though it was NOTHING serious and it was not their fault).I highly recommend the Billy, Conrad, and generally the Shores Automotive.By the way, every time I have been there, beautiful classic cars were in the shop for service, which I love.

Sushigo
Went there last night because I hadn't heard of this place, and I know most places in deerfield/boca/delray. Decided to meet a friend there, where the place was small and clean and looked like a very cute typical sushi place. We got there pretty late for a monday night and there were only a couple people there. However, the sushi was THE BEST I've had in a VERY long time. It was fresh and good portioned, presented specialty rolls creatively, which looked amazing. The fish didn't taste like some other places, where the fish can taste a bit fishy/bloody which is gross. We shared a tuna tartar, which was on point. I ordered a rainbow and spicy tuna roll, which were again, excellent. At the end of our meal, the sushi chef and owner Joe came over and brought us a small piece of mochi for us to share. He asked about our meal and then told us a bit about himself. It so happens, he's had MANY years of experience and worked at NOBU for years (if you know good sushi, then you'll know NOBU is on another level) as well as many finer sushi places around the country. He also told us he as a special freezer, which freezes the fish after being butchered to -30Celsius. He explained the importance of it to kill bacteria and better the quality. Awesome place and food, defintely must try.

Salon Pierre & Co
My son raved about this Salon and Pierre himself, noting it would be a mistake NOT to get my hair done by him. My theory was.... scissors are scissors, what's the difference between a $12 haircut versus the alternative? The difference is that Pierre is a visionary. He knows his craft and has mastered it. Felt like a day at the spa as opposed to previous "barbers". Now I know better. I have homes in a few states, but mainly reside in Michigan, Thanks Pierre, now I've gotta fly down 12 times a year to look this good. Well done sir, you deserve the accolades. I was also "instructed" by my son to at least meet Liz Linzner if she wasn't available for a manicure, he says she's the best. I didn't get the privilege as she was unavailable that day, but it is apparent that your Salon does what it requires to exceed your patrons expectations.Go to Salon Pierre. It really doesn't get better.Pierre: We'll see you at your Christmas Party prior to our cruise, Gloria will be getting her cut and color from you additionally. It was a pleasure from the both of us to meet you and look forward to many more visits. All the best to you and yours;Emmett & Gloria CapperCapper Broadcasting Corp

Boca's Best Auto Repair
I have been taking my car to this establishment for over a year. I came across the "good luck" of finding this gem. Joe has taken exceptional car of my car as well as my wife's. I am a AAA member and know how difficult it is to find honest and trustworthy companies here in South Florida. I have been so happy with all the help and "family" warmth that Joe and his staff provides. I had been using another garage for many years and was offered by the AAA guy to take my car here when it broke down. I was offered a 10% member discount AND the reassurance that AAA stands behind them, so why not!?! When I was given my quote it was explained thoroughly and prices seemed fair. All my questions were answered honest and directly. Doing my diligence, I called my previous mechanic and quickly realized that the quote was very fair. Repairs were done and I've been going back ever since, great people. After reading the review below I was compelled to make sure others knew that this is not the kind of service that I've experienced and find it far out of character. I would 100% recommend Boca's Best to any one in the community. They are a great company!

Salon Pierre & Co
Salon Pierre is a salon far superior to any other I have been to in South Florida. Not only are the staff very friendly, the ambiance is great - it's a cool salon but in a very classy way. Most of all, Pierre, the owner, is wonderful. His color work is fabulous, and his haircuts are brilliant, and I here's why......I don't get such an elaborate style cut into my hair (I wear it long and have long layers cut into it), however, not only do I leave the salon looking and feeling great, it is a haircut that looks great when I blow dry it myself at home. And this for me is quite an accomplishment. I am neither creative nor patient. I have no interest in spending a great deal of time making my hair look great on a day to day basis. Sometimes I wash it and just go. But when I do blow it out, it looks great. I have never had a haircut before that I was able to feel as good about when I did it myself. And on top of all this, I happen to think his prices are really reasonable as well - considering this is an East Boca, very classy salon.

Wild Orchid Hair Salon
Very very nice! I love this place, it is by far my favorite salon! I have been going to Kris and Liz for years.. they recently moved to this new location, and the new salon is GORGEOUS! It's decorated so beautifully! But the real beauty is in the talent and heart of the staff! I have pretty much been to everyone that works here and they are all SO good! Its NOT a stuffy catty salon, like some other salons I've been too in the past.. its got a very light happy atmosphere . Liz does amazing extensions! I just get one or two bundles for some volume to my fine hair.. the color is perfectly blended because she uses 3 different shades to add dimension. The price is very fair, I have been charges 3 times as much for less better work, I WILL ONLY GO TO LIZ for my extensions! Kristen does great color, also I recently tried Kendra and she was amazing and has a great personality ! If your looking for a new salon to call 'home" this is definitely the salon for you! I hope this review helps you !

Salon Pierre & Co
I recently moved to Boca and was nervous about finding a hairstylist and colorist that I would like. I wanted something nearby and a salon that would feel elegant but not stuffy. Up to date on trends but not way out there. I decided to try Salon Pierre based on the reviews. I am so glad I did! My stylist is Alex, he is very gifted and meticulous with his work. He wants his clients to be happy and makes sure he understands what you want. He is a perfectionist and takes pride in his work. I like it that he takes pics after the initial time (whe the hair looks beautiful). Next time, he shows it to you if you want the same or something different. I was ready to change and then he showed me the pic and I said never mind - Do it like the picture! I have hair medium long layered hair and have highlights! He makes great recommendations on color and style! I highly recommend him!!!

Boca Auto Service
This was the first time I have ever taken my car to anywhere but the dealership, and being a younger female I was a little nervous because of horror stories I've hear about auto shops. After reading the reviews below I chose Boca Auto Center, I will never take my Jetta anywhere else. Simon and his mechanics are honest, hard working people. Ended up saving me a lot of money, I would have probably had to sell a kidney just to afford it. Plus I have a Volkswagen and their a pain in the but to work on. I went to Boca Auto driving a car that I felt was going to break down on me at any moment and I left relieved and confident I was driving something reliable again. I give this place 6 stars! Great customer service and his mechanics are easy to talk to, I felt like I learn more about my car every time I go in. Never have I looked forward to getting my car worked on. Great Job Guys :)
Tips & Advices
Among the common scams pulled are needless repairs, where a garage charges you for work that isn't necessary. Another popular one is attracting customers through a cheap oil change or tire pressure check. Then, when you your car is being repaired, they give you a long list of other corrections they'd like to make, therefore boosting the total cost of your bill. The best way to combat these types of problems is getting a written estimate before work is done so you can see how much repairs are expected to cost. If the final bill is higher than the estimate projected, ask to specifically see the work. Make sure information is put in writing as well. If a problem remains, you can have proof that work was not done to your satisfaction.
For winter driving, features such as the defroster, heater and exhaust system are paramount. Look in your owner's manual for specific directions on how features should be checked and repaired. Many newer cars have a cabin air filter that can be replaced when needed, allowing warm air to continue to flow in. Also, check tires before winter driving, as they need to be at the proper pressure to perform well on snow and ice.
In the spring and summer, you want to be sure your air conditioner and cooling systems work correctly. Given the high temperatures, overheating is a common problem. Look over the system by ensuring there is enough coolant available. If it needs to be refilled, it is best to open the hood and add more to the car before it gets too warm out. Also, clean out fan ducts and other ventilation sources necessary for summertime driving.
Some fixes to your car can be done without paying a specialist. Issues like replacing oil and air filters are relatively simple, with instructions provided in the owner's manual on how to make these changes. The same goes for replacing broken windshield wipers or burnt-out headlights. Such issues should be repaired quickly to guarantee safety, but don't require a visit to a garage.
Yes. Not every type of auto repair work needs to be done by a certified mechanic. You can fix some of a vehicle's issues just by paying attention to how the automobile is running and having a basic understanding of auto repair. Look over the ways weather may impact your car and what preventative measures you can take to avoid having to take it into the shop.
