Called Expressway Electric re some rather involved residential work. They sent technicians Memo and Steve who arrived on time, were proficient, professional and personable. Our job was completed in 2-1/2 days and their work not only met but exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend Expressway Electric and Memo and Steve.

We had several jobs to be completed. Memo, Our service technician performed them all with expert knowledge. There was a problem with one of our breaker switches that we never knew about. He explained it and fixed it. We were very pleased with his work and would not hesitate to have him come back if we ever need electrical work done in the future

I had a vintage 1954 pushmatic circuit breaker box. It was becoming increasingly hard to find replacement circuit breakers for it. I decided the best course of action was to replace the entire breaker box. I Found Expressway Electric in the phone book. With in two hours of my phone call technician Steve Gutierrez was out at my house to give me an estimate. I was satisfied with estimate and told Steve he had the job. he informed me the job required a permit from the City and the City building inspector would have to come out and approve their plan. Steve also told us that the Riverside Public Utilities would have to come out and disconnect us from the power grid. Steve kept me informed of what was going on during the permitting process. Steve did what unpermitted work he could do that day. Steve applied for the permit that day and then it was a matter of getting coordinated with the City building inspector and the Riverside Public Utilities. Once the work was started Steve Gutierrez and fellow technician Leo Barela were very prompt, knowledgeable, and courteous. I can't say enough about their professionalism. I would like to thank them both for a job well done. I will not hesitate to call Expressway Electric if I ever need another electrical job done. - John Edwards -

Courteous, respectful technicians. I called about a bad circuit in my kitchen. The response was quick, and they did a lot of work: rewiring to code, installation of electrical boxes, ceiling fan mount, wall switches, exterior porch lights. I was very impressed with the diligence, and professionalism of the technician working in my home, very personable and ALWAYS ON TIME! All work to be performed was explained very thoroughly. The other really nice thing was the clean-up. The technician swept and removed all debris everyday before leaving. I hope to do business with them again in the future!
Tips & Advices
The simplest cause for hot tub jets to stop working is when they’re twisted to the “closed” position and need to be twisted back open. If you’ve recently refilled your hot tub and the jets are not working, there could be an airlock in the plumbing lines--a more difficult issue to fix. Someone with understanding of electrical components should turn the power off and then let the air escape, or bleed, from the lines by loosening “bleed screws” on the end of the pump. Other reasons that jets may stop working include calcium buildup from hard water, and issues with the pump power.
The average lifespan of a hot tub is affected by how well it’s taken care of, as well as the quality of the product. When maintained properly, top-tier brands are expected to last 15-20 years. If neglected, even an expensive hot tub might only last 5 years.
Low water flow is by far the most common cause for a hot tub to overheat, and luckily it can be easily remedied by topping up (filling up the water level using a hose). Another reason a hot tub might overheat is that the spa filter is dirty.
Before you begin looking for a hot tub leak, turn the power off. After that, the first place to check is the pump--a leaky pump is common, and easy to recognize from the water pooling below. If this doesn’t show anything, examine the union fittings, which can often come loose and need to be tightened by hand. If this fails to find your leak, you will need to visually inspect all the valves and plumbing—especially the connections on the pipes.
The cost of maintaining a hot tub should be fairly manageable: about $500 annually in chemicals and filters, plus $30-$50 monthly for electricity. If you have to replace a hot tub cover, however, that could cost anywhere from $200-$400.
