The Abbey's at Lakesore
I moved into the Abbey at Lakeshore in January 2013 It is a pleasure living here. It is quiet, people are friendly, the Office and Maintenance Staff is very helpful. Amber the Office Manager is not only professional but such a pleasure to deal with. The Maintenance Staff, friendly, honest and when there is a problem they try their best to fix it asap.It is a nice place to live but it would be a better place if they could update the kitchen cupboards and appliances. It is a bit outdated and old. However, with the Manager Amber and her Maintenance Team they realy do try their best to do their best.

Sheraton Birmingham Hotel
Hot water was a continuous issue....our room didn't have hot water every night, and one day the entire hotel was running cold due to a mechanical issue. There was a concert across the street and people came stumbling in the hotel late at night...because of the way the building is built, allt he sounds traveled up, we were on the 15th floor and were woken up at 1am due to yelling couples. The pool is lovely, it is a pretty hotel - but if you wake up at the slightest noise....this might be a problem here.

Dixie Fish Company
Was visiting in town for business, decided to stop, glad I did! Service and food were Great! I had the Mixed Grill Gulf Fish Plate, it was really delicious! NIce Atmosphere, fun environment, able to catch games on the large screen tv's! Got there before 6pm for good happy hour deals! Restaurant has been open only a few months, is located where Bahama Breeze used to be! Big Place! Will definately be back next time I'm in Birmingham!

Homewood Suites by Hilton Birmingham-South/Inverness
After spending my last 10 months in Bham, I have to say this is my favorite placr to stay on 280. Better than average breakfast (plus dinner reception M-Th), but it's the people here that differentiate this hotel from the others in this area. Just renovated the entire property so it is now bright & inviting like the rest of the environment.

Your Pie
I got a chance to experience the your pie restaurant yesterday and I have honestly say that the food was great, the customer service was excellent, and the prices are affordable. It's a great place to have a date night, family dinner, or social gathering.

Cafe Firenze
My friends and I always have a great time when we go out to Cafe Firenze. The food is really good, the staff is friendly, and they have the best bands around. They have an outside patio area now too, its cool to chill on. Good Place.

Kenley Apartment
We've lived here a few months now. We love how close it is to everything e.g. Summit, restaurants, etc. and the complex is beautiful and well kept. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an upscale gated community.

InTown Suites
Overall rating 2. Room hasn't been cleaned in two weeks, asked for things to do myself. Someone came finally, keys wouldn't work when I returned. A huge run around to finally get back in an hour later.

Shrimp Basket
We finally have a decent seafood restaurant with great shrimp. I know this sounds crazy, but I don't like shrimp or fish that tastes fishy.....all fresh!
Tips & Advices
Most city and county shelters offer affordable spay/neuter services. SPCA and Humane Society shelters also are known for their low-cost spay/neuter programs.
Shelters typically offer spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, microchipping and some essential medical treatment (deworming, mange treatment) to animals being adopted from the shelter. For other veterinary services, you will need to find a vet.
No-kill and low-kill shelters will state it in their online profile and other official materials. They will usually explain what their process/policy is for looking after the animals in their care. These are also known as “limited admission” shelters because they are usually at full capacity most or all of the time. Also, they often work with rescue organizations or county Animal Services authorities to accommodate animals living in inhumane conditions, abandoned or injured animals.
Anyone can bring a lost animal to a county or municipal shelter. However, private shelters affiliated with rescues often will not accept animals, whether lost or surrendered by owners. Shelters with low-kill policies often have a limited admission capability.
Adopting an adult dog from a county or city shelter usually costs $75-$100. Young adult purebreds and puppies often have a higher adoption fee.  The fee to adopt a cat is usually about $50– sometimes with discounts if one new owner adopts two cats. The adoption fee usually covers the cost of spay/neuter surgery and essential vaccinations.
