I had the best experience of my life with Dr. Maharrey and Tabitha! I had to get 6 teeth removed and I never have had a tooth pulled or used laughing gas or anything. I was beyond petrified and Tabitha kept talking to me and calmed me down completely on top of that she covered every little thing I needed to know and answered every little stupid worry that I had. Then I met the doctor himself who was so nice!! He put music on and was always checking up on me and they both were making jokes and made it very relaxing and comfortable then next thing you know all 6 teeth were out. I would recommend them to anyone that asks and would think twice! Thank you very much for making this the easiest thing ever! I was worried for no reason! The nicest people there!

My daughter had a dentist appointment on 6/4/15 at the Biloxi location. From the time we walked in until we left, every staff member was polite and attentive to our needs. The entire building was clean and kid friendly. My daughter came in for a routine check up and a small cavity was found. The dentist asked if I would like to take of it at this time so that I wouldn't have to make another appointment. That was perfect for me and I felt like a kid in a candy store! The dentist and his assistant were amazing with her and she and I both were very comfortable.

My kids have gone to Kool Smiles in Biloxi for several visits. The past visits were for cleanings but the last two involved fillings and tooth removals. I was more anxious than they were!! They came out of the exam rooms with happiness and excitement. They told me, "It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be!" Yes, the play areas can be a little chaotic at times, but as long as you make it pretty close to your appointment time, you will not need to use the play area, The staff are very quick and efficient. TEN STARS FOR KOOL SMILES!!!! :-)

Five Stars! If I could give them more, I would!!! This was my first visit; everyone was kind and helpful. Suzanne cleaned my teeth and it was the least painful, most gentle, teeth cleaning I have ever had. Dr. Cook introduced himself, shook my hand, and thanked me for coming in! He was great; he explained what should be done immediately and what could wait. Their prices are fair and I was scheduled for my dental work early next week... I would even bring my grandchildren to see them. Great experience all around, I have found my dentist!!!

(This is for Hattiesburg! Biloxi keeps on popping up mistakenly) Dr. Tara Pursley and Jaime Baggett are both awesome. They are great at making my daughter feel comfortable and explaining things about the cavity filling process so that she could understand. Kennedy was all smiles when we left!

I was not impressed with Kool Smiles. I drove over for an appointment 3 times for them not to do anything because my daughter was crying a little bit. There's was no comforting her or anything. They walked in, saw her tears in her eyes and left. Very unprofessional, I will never use them again.

I took my daughter in for a cleaning today and I was very pleased. Very clean, friendly. The lady at the front was awesome and answered my million questions with a smile and respect. The dentist was great with my little one. I will be coming back.
Tips & Advices
  • If a tooth decays and the nerves or pulp (soft internal tissue which helps teeth develop) become inflamed or infected
  • If a tooth is cracked or broken and nerves are exposed
This generally depends on any specific issues you wish to address with your teeth. There are toothpastes designed to whiten teeth, fight cavities, decrease sensitivity, prevent bad breath, resist gingivitis, and those specific to children (with lower fluoride content). There are also toothpastes that offer “complete” protection by combining aspects of many of the above toothpastes.
It’s recommended to get a professional cleaning at least two times per year.
  • Desensitizing toothpaste numbs the nerves in the teeth that can cause discomfort.
  • Mouth guard can protect against grinding teeth during sleep.
  • Fluoride treatment can be applied by dentists to sensitive areas to numb teeth and strengthen enamel.
  • Root canal can treat problems in a tooth’s core.
  • Surgical gum graft where a piece of gum tissue is removed from a section of the mouth to cover an exposed root.
Not everyone needs to have their wisdom teeth removed, but there are certain signs that can help you and your doctor determine if yours should be:
  • Wisdom teeth are pushing other teeth around, causing pain and misalignment
  • Cysts form around newly emerged wisdom teeth, causing jaw damage
  • Gums get inflamed and swollen, causing cavities and pain
  • Doctor determine from x-rays that wisdom teeth will cause problems in the near future
