Old Country Inn
We have been eating here during our vacations over the past 18 months and have enjoyed the food (especially breakfast.) I would suggest everything they have, from the crispy bacon to the home fries. As far as the service goes, it needs to be improved. This morning we were one of 6 groups of people at first with 3 staff members waiting on tables. It took forever to get our drinks (coffee and tea) and the subsequent refills. Later it turned to 8 tables with 4 staff members with the same slow service. I witnessed two parties waiting more than 2 minutes to be seated and one party walk up to a staff member to pay the final bill. Today was even slower as we waited forever for the waiter to collect the bill and await change, but we could not wait any longer, so the tip was cut short. It is difficult to rate this establishment with superb food yet a very slow early morning staff. Even though first impressions are lasting ones, these impressions are hurting ones.

BLT's Restaurant
BLT in Big Bear is totally awesome…Laura was my go to gal for the feast…out of the box cheese/jallopneo soup…add the homemade potato salad that had tons of extra goodies in it and then a self ordered (from the kids menu..they still gave it to a big kid…) a peanut butter sammie on toasted sourdough bread….choose a diet coke for libation instead of wine….may rethink that next time….there will be a next time…right on the main highway to the ski slopes… a must stop..been eating in big bear for many years and this is the best for casual dining!!!! a must do

Captains Anchorage
Our server was friendly and prompt. she treated us like old friends even tho its was our first visit. decent wine list, nice atmosphere and in a great location. prices were fare. she had the prime rib and loved it. he had the porterhouse chop. and was a little disappointed by its presentation (2 thin chops), over cook and under seasoned! we liked the salad and soup bar. If we visit again, it'll be for the service and salad bar.

Teddy Bear Restaurant
Went here last weekend while visiting Big Bear. Solid breakfast place and dog friendly on the patio, which is a must for my husband and my pooch. I really enjoyed the corned beef hash with poached eggs and the cinnamon corn bread! The staff were friendly and attentive - perfect breakfast spot. We will be back here for sure.

Jaspers Smokehouse & Steaks
Food was incredible. I am so happy we found this. Best Place to eat in the Village for sure if you want some good ol' southern BBQ. Delicious. Sweet Tea in huge mason jars, friendly staff and incredibly speedy service. If you don't eat at Jaspers Smokehouse, you're missing out

Teddy Bear Restaurant
Teddy Bear's is a real Big Bear staple. The staff is courteous, food is great and the laid-back diner feel is very refreshing. All in all, it's a great local business well worth stopping by, if only for a slice of pie a la mode!

We ate on the patio. I had a ham and cheese omlet with avacado and tomato. They also included fresh fruit, which was wonderful. The omlet was cooked perfectly. My husband loved his food also. The service was great.
