Best Club around. It's all there from Les Mils classes to Booty Barre and Pilates. Great swimming pool and weight rooms and cardio. Personal Trainers are fantastic
I've belonged to BAC for years and watched it change. Under the current ownership it has been completely remodeled and is the best health club in the area.
I also use the new location at Cummings Center as it is open 24 hours a day. It allows me to get in workouts I normally would skip because of busy schedule. If you're looking for a gym....BAC Rocks!
I joined 6 months ago and mostly do do cardio and lift. I joined to get away from all the kids and crowds at the YMCA. I was impressed right away with never waiting for a piece of equipment and having Televisions on all the treads made it easier for me to stay on without going crazy! A friend suggested takin a group ride class which I thought was like spinning but it was so much better. I got hooked right away. I'm also taking a couple of group power classes weekly for the last month and am seeing results already. Don't understand what the review about high school stoners was all about as most of the staff is over 30 and all very friendly and helpful. I've had a couple of personal trainers give me great advice and Greg the guy that signed me up is a trainer/athlete as well and unbelievably friendly and helpful. I give the place a solid 9 on a 1-10 scale.
Friendly staff, great equipment, chlorine free pool, not over crowded and the best classes I've ever taken. The place is classy without kids running around everywhere and not priced much higher than the Y. Great value for your money. I've lost 15 pounds thanks to my trainer Nancy.
I just moved back to Beverly after being in New Jersey the past 2 years. Prior to my move I was a BAC member for about 4 years and thought it was great. After checking out and joining some other clubs I know that it's a great club with a caring, knowlegeable and FRIENDLY staff. I' glad to be back and amazed at how much better the facility has gotten since I left. The new salt water aquatic center is amazing. Check it out and join...it will be a smart decision that you won't regret.
I joined the passport plan which allows me to use the satellite location at Cummings Center as well as the main club. The Cummings Center is all new with some great equipment I've never seen before called Matrix. They are the best strength machines I've ever used as well as cutting edge cardio. I'm training with Ken and he's terrific. Staff there is friendly as well. I joined on the combo plan because although the BAC Express is convenient for me at work in the Cummings Center I like all the extra amenities at the BIG club. The group fitness schedule is great and I take both the group ride and group power. I hear the Zumba and yoga are excellent as well but they're not something I do. The pool is terrific especially in the summer time when you can bake on the sun deck. It's salt water and they say it is much healthier. I know it doesn't make my eyes bloodshot or have the bad chlorine smell most pools have. There's a ton of other things like hoop, racquetball and huge fitness areas. I'm glad i joined and I've referred several friends that feel the same way.
I have used many health clubs in the past but about 6 months ago I found them while searching on yellowpages.com and really liked the way there video looked because of the raquetball and pool. I joined shortly after and since I joined I got 2 family members and 3 friends to join with me. There whole set up is great and my wife even uses there salon which is much more convienent than traveling into Newbury st Boston. I will continue to try and get my friends to join, and would recommend them to anyone else looking for a great health club or gym.
BAC is great for location and for it's size, but that place is run HORRIBLY. None of the employees know anything, they're all lazy, never helpful. A good portion of the machines are broke constantly. The elliptical machines and treadmills especially. And because they are, the ones that work fully are usually taken so you get stuck standing around and waiting a lot. Once, for three WEEKS a few of the ellipticals were broken - on one the screen didn't work, on another the sound, etc. Eventually I got fed up and asked an employee ""When are you going to fix those machines?"" He responded: ""What machines?"" THEY DON'T CHECK THEIR OWN EQUIPMENT. They had no idea that three out of seven or whatever of their elliptical machines were broken in some way. More than likely one of the employees was alerted and just blew off telling anyone so nothing got done. Again, it's good for the location and the amount of equipment but it's like it's run by careless high-school stoners.
Me and my wife have been going to this athletic club for a couple months now they have some of the best equipment I have ever used at any gym I attended in the past. My wiife love this place too she can get a great workout and get her hair done at the same place. The staff is nice and very helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a gym or day spa.
It's easy to see why this club won the Best in Beverly award. It's much better than any other club around. Best equipment I've ever seen and the staff is friendly and helpful.
