Solid Rock Auto
Hello Ms. Archer,To respond to your post. you came to Solid Rock Auto with a misdiagnosis (need new starter) from another shop (family member), you left here with the correct diagnosis ( no starter issue) and an unwillingness to pay for the 1.5 hours of diagnostic work verifying the problems you were experiencing (Leaky intake manifold, and parasitic amp draw due to a faulty drivers door latch). Try as hard as I might; it seems you could not or would not make the connection and subsequently lied to me about going to the bank for money to pay me, never returning, It was only after I left you a voice message after several attempts to contact you, that I would now be forced to Contact The Deschutes County District Attorney and report you for theft of services did you grudgingly make the payment by mail of that which you owed, and yes Amy you did receive your discount, they are still posted, as I take nothing down nor did I dishonor my commitments to you or do I any of my customers.Thank you.Marty S.

Paddy's Automotive Technology
I am not at all mechanically inclined, but do have a basic understanding of preventative maintenance and the like. I have been here 4 times and they've always treated me respectfully, professionally, and honestly. Really friendly people as well. Emphasis on the honest characteristic: I took my car in for what I was expecting to be new brake pads and rotors, maybe even new struts (Les Schwab indicated it was about time). I was bracing myself for the between $400-$800 in repairs. I dropped the car off, receive a phone call a few hours later reporting that I still had enough pad to last a few more years, no intervention indicated. Wow that is very much appreciated, as I can certainly recall mechanics in my past performing unnecessary repairs for the extra buck. I also like that I can swing by to have a light repaired, and they don't treat me like I'm an idiot who should be doing this me. Lifelong customer. Highly recommended!

I had taken my car originally to another service shop and felt like they wanted to repair things that didn't need it and was way over charging for their services. A co-worker told me about Paddy’s and recommend that I have them look at my vehicle. Not only was the repair done quickly, but at a third the cost of the first shop had quoted me, plus some of the things the other shop recommended services that didn't need to be done. I so much appreciate that, and will definitely come back to. My father was a mechanic and service manager throughout his career and always treated his clients and patrons honestly. I feel my father would be very pleased with the people you have working for you and the integrity of your shop and business. Thank you for your honesty. It seems so hard to find in this world these days.

Always, Always a great experience going to Paddy’s. Pat is a dream mechanic! He lets you know what is wrong and gives you a list-- not pushy just really gives solid recommendations about what can wait and what cannot wait for repair. Always goes the extra mile to get the job done exactly when they say and for the price they say. As a woman I trust him completely. I used to have my boyfriend take the car in because I was used to getting the run around by mechanics as a woman, but after dealing with Paddy’s a few times I realize there is no need to play that game. Again, I trust this guy completely and he does not make you feel intimidated or stupid for asking stupid questions, as I do .

The Other Guy's Tires
Noticed a leaking tire right before we were supposed to leave for Portland. Showed up and they got to work right away, probably only took 15 min total. They found a shard of metal and patched the hole for a super reasonable rate! Very professional and nice owner from Mexico city. He even let us know we needed to get an allignment soon based on the tire tread. We will definitely be coming back for our tire care. Don't be too alarmed when you first pull up these guys are legit and are putting in some hard work.

Paddy's Automotive Technology
I was referred to Paddy's by a friend and I am so glad I switched to a local shop! I needed to replace my first car and had to buy a new one on a budget. It needed some general maintenance (struts, brakes, transmission, oil, head light conditioning) before it could be driven for long periods on the high way. I called Pat and he quoted me less than any of the other shops and got me in right away and charged me less than what he quoted. My car drives great and my head lights look amazing! Thanks Paddy!

Young's Ole Volks Home
We had gone to Sunriver for the day and about 4:15 our car started to act up. Everyone we spoke to said we are about to close talk to us tomorrow. Friendly Scott at Young's hooked us up to diagnose after his closing hours an said it would have to get fixed in the morning. By 9:30 the next day we were happily on our way after good care, friendly service, very reasonable rates! This was an extra ordinarily good experience thanks to Young's Ole Volks Home!

A-Handy-Man Auto, Truck & RV Repair
Terry was great! I needed to get my truck ready to drive across the country and ran across his number online. He got me in quickly, replaced my rotors and pads, got a lug nut I was missing, and got me ready to go in the same day. He even found me a couple of used tires for a good price nearby. Pricing was very fair and he did a great job. Work was great, I made it all the way from his shop to my home in Memphis, tn with no problems. Thanks Terry!!!!

Needed an analysis of an older car we bought so I checked online and found Paddy's Automotive with 3 reviews and all 5 star. So decided to give it a try. I especially liked the comments about honesty. Our experience was everything we hoped it would be. Honest, fair and thorough. Can't get much better...oh and timely! Will definitely use them again. Thanks Paddy!

Tips & Advices
You should change your oil filter whenever you change your oil, that is, approximately every 7,500 miles.
A oil filter is a device that helps remove contaminants from motor oil as it passes through the engine. A pump pushed the oil through the filter where it is strained and goes back to the engine.
High-mileage oil contains special conditioners that are said to help prevent gaskets from drying out and thus preventing leaks. This can be beneficial to engines with many miles on them.
Synthetic oil costs more than conventional oil, but the price is offset by the need for less frequent oil changes due to the oil’s durability.
Tools needed to change your own oil include jack stands or ramps, a wrench, an oil filter wrench, an oil drip pan, funnel, replacement oil filter, and replacement oil.
