Deschutes Dermatology Center
All in all: Unlawful, unethical and unprofessional. They lost my lab work and their medical aesthetician needles my skin improperly. My skin was left dry and itchy, which was explained and normal by Deschutes Dermatology staff. Not only did they dismiss my symptoms, but they decided to discharge me from their practice (unbeknownst to me). Doctor CARTER never called me to discuss any of the above. However, my neighbor who happens tonwork for Doctor CARTER necame her messenger. Lastly, their cold receptionist explained to me that my voice messages were not being returned because I had been discharged. In summation, if you are a woman in search of a dermatologist to enhance your skin then this practice is probably not a good fit if you appreciate care. Their lack of care is saddening since most doctors have a goal to assist their communities. My experience was uncomfortable and judgmental and I was simply a number in their practice.

I can’t thank Leslie Carter, MD, Carrie Baxter PA, and the Deschutes Dermatology team enough. They properly diagnosed a skin condition, immediately, that was missed by Bend Dermatology for 3+ years. They literally saved my life. Their follow-up has been thorough and professional. I love Deschutes Dermatology and recommend the Clinic to all my friends and family.

Love the way Dr. Carter makes me look. My skin always looks it best after a treatment. I would never again trust my skin to a medi-spa, especially knowing that the procedures they perform should always be done by a doctor.
Tips & Advices
Cosmetic dermatology is a specialization of the field, which focuses on a person's appearance.
See a dermatologist if you have recurring problems with your skin, hair, nails or mucous membranes, or for any concerns about cosmetic appearance. Medicare patients will likely pay 20 percent of the Medicare-approved amount if the health care provider covers dermatology for a medical skin condition.
Dermatology tends to be covered by insurance if it is deemed a "medical necessity." The amount of coverage and cost depends on the specific health plan.
There is such a thing as a pediatric dermatologist--medical professionals who treat children from birth through adolescence - usually for skin conditions most common in younger patients. Regular dermatologists can also work with children of various ages.
Dermatologists can perform biopsies, dermabrasion, hair removal, laser surgery, cosmetic injections (like Botox), Mohs surgery for skin cancer, skin grafts, vein therapy, and chemical peels, to name a few.
