The Dr. did a good job at removing my son's wisdom teeth without any damage, but he rushed through the initial consultation. The reason for the 3 stars is the receptionist. She is rude and abrupt. She was this way from the first appointment, but I had to go in for emergency surgery which caused my son to miss an appointment. She wouldn't let us reschedule. I understand that they need to keep in business, but we had already been in 3 times without being late or rescheduling. She wouldn't even bother to hear me out when I tried to explain the situation. Since then I have found another office to go to and they are very friendly and helpful.

Brown Family Dentistry
My experience at Brown Family Dentistry was excellent. I have a lot of anxiety about going to the dentist and the staff really put me at ease. In addition to the staff being extremely kind and professional, their services are affordable as well. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, unlike many dentists office. In addition they always work hard to work with my schedule to make appointments, even at a very short notice. I really can't say enough good things about Brown Family Dentistry. Best dental office in Southwest Michigan!

I was so terrified of dentists, I am 18 years old and have never been to a dentist before, so I was obviously afraid when I heard that I needed to have a tooth pulled. My dentist made me feel extremely comfortable and assured me before she ever started the procedure that it was not going to hurt too bad and that it was necessary. She also gave me advice on how to take better care of my teeth and gums. All in all, a great dental experience, I will definitely be going back!

Dental Dreams
Great staff! I scheduled an appointment for Saturday morning as a new patient. Doc did a great job cleaning my (coffee stained) teeth - gave me a treatment plan (including total cost) and had time to take care of all my treatment same day (two, 3rd molar, extractions and a cavity re-fill). I look forward to my 6 month cleaning!

The doctor did a great job. He is excellent at what he does. What he is not excellent at is hiring quality people to work the reception desk. This lady argued with me for a bill under 50 dollars like I stole money from her great grand child. Rude, obtuse, ignorant, and downright nasty. She gets a 0. Doc gets a solid 4.

McDaniel Douglas E DDS
Dr. McDaniel and his staff are very nice, professional and efficient. Always on time , every time. The office, waiting room and bathrooms are VERY clean and well maintained. Dr. provides excellent care and nearly painless dentistry. I have been his patient for years and attest to the wonderful care he provides.

This is one extraordinary office. The office staff is very friendly and courteous. I really like the TVs in all rooms. The hygienist was very nice and the dentist provided through and clear explanations for my treatment. I moved here and this is the best dental office in town. Kudos to the office and its staff.

We came here for a short time and were very pleased with staff. We had no problems with anything here. We had to switch to someone else because they were out of our network unfortunately. They even sent us a nice letter in the mail after we left. Much better experience than a different place we went.

I had a cleaning appointment with hygienist. It was a great experience and I found the office to be very friendly. The dentist did a thorough exam and provided quality dental care. The front desk gave various financial options, I was lucky to get interest free financing. I highly recommend this office.

Halonen Family Dentistry
Best dentist I've ever experienced. Extremely calming with the highest quality care for not just me but my family... Two kids under the age of 6 will sit, listen, and let Dr. Todd work on their teeth. Amazing. I've never been so confident in our dental health.
Tips & Advices
The most common dental problems in children are:
  • Cavities
  • Bad breath
  • Gum disease
  • Sensitive teeth
  • Grinding
  • Canker sores
  • Missing teeth
  • Extra teeth
  • Bite and alignment issues
Thumb sucking is not specifically a dental problem, but it can cause a malocclusion, a condition where the top and bottom teeth don't line up correctly.
To clean a baby's teeth, use a small, soft-bristled toothbrush designed specifically for infants. Apply a tiny amount of non-fluoride toothpaste - about the size of a grain of rice - and gently brush all sides of the teeth and the tongue. Before the baby's first teeth emerge, use gauze or a wet washcloth wrapped around the finger to wipe the gums. This motion doesn't necessarily reduce bacteria, but it does help the infant to get used to the sensation of having his or her teeth cleaned.
Children should visit their pediatric dentist every six months. This recommended frequency does not change throughout a person's lifetime.
No, wisdom teeth do not need to be removed unless they cause pain, lead to dental issues, or are aligned incorrectly.
Yes, dental sealants prevent cavities by filling in deep grooves in the teeth. Without them, bacteria can collect in these areas and cause tooth decay, which can happen with children.
