Dr. Edward Schwartzenburg
I must tell you---I have been one of Dr. Ellis Schwartzenburg's patients for over 2 decades. I have found his office staff is courteous, thorough, professional. What would you expect me to say? Of course they are all of those but because the work for the Drs. Schwartzenburg they have taken a cue from his playbook. Dr. Ellis Schwartzenburg and his staff are kind, courteous, gentle, compassionate, co-operative, understanding, thorough and genuinely concerned about each and every patient they see. From the first day I met "Dr. Ellis" I have found him to be remarkably compassionate and gentle. The staff go out of their way to put you at your ease and make every effort to schedule an appointment in a timely fashion. "Dr. Ellis" is aligned with Woman's Hospital of Baton Rouge and he performed the much needed surgery in a timely manner.I find "Dr. Ellis" a credit to every medical professional I have ever met. He is truly concerned and genuinely compassionate about meeting his patients needs. I am a better person for having met him and he will continue to be my OBGYN until one of us dies. (I would say until one of us retires but I retired last year.) ;-) To "Dr. Ellis" I would say only this----See you in July.

Niels Linschoten, MD
Dr. Linschoten Performed a total hip replacement on me just one month ago, and already I feel like I can take on any task that I wish tol do. I could'nt have imagined that the surgery and the rehabilitation could possibly go this well. My only regret is that I did not have the operation years ago. I know longer have to live in pain, and I wake up exited to start my day. Dr. Linschoten and his staff made this entire process as wonderful as it could have been. I am extremely greatful to them for getting me back where I can live day to day pain free and get my career started now!

Fakouri, Dana A MD
All of the doctors are good but Dr. Elofson is awesome! He has been my kids' doctor for over 15 years and they love him. My daughter is in college, but can't bring herself to find an "adult" doctor. At first glance, it can seem like he is in a rush, but that is just because he talks fast. In reality, he is willing to spend as much time with you as necessary. Best of all, he treats me like I have a brain. He exams the child, shares information and together we make a decision on how to proceed. Dr. Elofson ROCKS!

Michael Yorek, MD
Best family doctor in my opinion. Dr. Yorek takes the time to really listen to you and I never feel rushed in his office. he genuinely cares about all of his patients as well. When my mother went to see him one day he felt she needed to go into the hospital and he got a wheelchair and walked her over himself. Any time my parents where in the hospital he always made it a point to come by and check on them and review their charts. Dr. Yorek is a rare find and I wish every doctor was like him.

Ahmad, Rick I MD
Dr. Ahmad is the most professional, caring physician. Excellent bedside manner, making sure supporting staff knew exactly what he wanted them to do for patient, answering all questions we had with such a caring attitude. Definitely went the extra mile in caring for us. I refer him to all my friends and family, and to anyone that mentions medical problems, even if they are not ortho issues. Great doctor!

Tips & Advices
OB/GYNs learn to treat infertility as part of their standard education. OBGYNs who further their training in reproductive endocrinology and infertility are known as fertility specialists.
Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is a treatment where medication is used to replace hormones a woman's body does not create naturally. Women are prescribed either estrogen alone or a mix of estrogen and progesterone. The former is given to women who've had hysterectomies, while the latter is for postmenopausal women. HRT used to be a common treatment, but doctors have prescribed it less often in recent years, as concerns of negative side effects increased.
Endometriosis is a chronic condition where uterine tissue (endometrium) grows in areas outside the uterus. This can cause extreme pain, especially around menstruation and during sex. Other symptoms include infertility, chronic fatigue, and painful urination or bowel movements during menstruation. In addition, many women with endometriosis also have allergies, frequent yeast infections, or sensitivity to certain chemicals.
Morning sickness is a common pregnancy symptom that includes nausea and occasional vomiting. Despite its name, morning sickness can occur at any time of day. The exact reason for this condition isn't clear, although most believe it results from hormone changes affecting muscle contraction and relaxation in the stomach and intestines. Another theory suggests morning sickness is caused by an abundance of intestinal bacteria in pregnant woman.
OBGYNs can prescribe or perform the following types of birth control:
  • Contraceptive pills
  • Birth control shots
  • Implants
  • Diaphragms
  • Vaginal rings
  • Cervical caps
  • Intrauterine devices
  • Tubal ligation
  • Hysterectomies
Women do not need to see an OBGYN to obtain over-the-counter forms of birth control such as male condoms, female condoms, or sponges.
