St. Christopher's Addiction Wellness Center
I went to st.chris for an addiction problem and this was my first time in any kind of treatment. I am not a kid however most of the patients are, usually 18-20 and the patients around me were horrible to live with for 30days. It seemed to me that much of the staffs energy was spent reprimanding bad behavior. anyone considering st.christophers also must understand that this is a private business and the most important aspect of your treatment, in their eyes, is financial. I can understand this mentality to an extent, however I think they take it too far. For example, each and every patient is referred to their extended stay program with can last up to 12 months and if someone is attending the program due to court requirements the court follows the recommendation of the addiction counselor. Very few people can set every aspect of their life down for 12 months and spend $75,000 for treatment. Now the truth is, all rehabs have the same issues that St.chris deals with however St.Chris's has an ace up their sleeve that makes them the best rehab in the area by a long shot. Very simply they hired a 5 star chef that puts out stellar food every day. Eating was such an important aspect of my steint in captivity. As you can imagine it's very depressing, boring and sobering in rehab. The excitement of eating the next freshly prepared meal actually kept me engaged in my treatment. The chefs name is Kieth Bayard and not only can he cook, he is a hell of a counselor and an expert in recovery (he's been there, done that, got the t-shirt). His knowledge of AA trumps that of even the most senior counselors. In closing, I would recommend St.Christophers to my friends and family however if the food sucked it would be just another rehab with nothing special.

Studio Gabriella
Yesterday I told my friend I needed a haircut, but wasn't sure where I could get an appointment in the area (not from here). She told me I should call the place she went for her extensions, that Gabby was a doll, so I did! I was able to make an appointment for the next morning!! I show up for what I thought would be a hair cut, but wound up being a hair transformation session! I am not a person that puts a whole lot of effort into my hair because it's just blah, but envy people that have luscious locks! Upon assessing what she is working with, she mentions extensions (so not me) for people with thinning hair. Having thyroid cancer 10 years ago, my hair is very thin. She said that it is 100% damage free and it would make my hair full again and hardly notice that they are there. Again, this is not my thing... But turning 30 tomorrow, I needed something, a change, a hair transformation! I sat patiently without peeking, I had faith that she would do her magic! When she was done, I was overwhelmed... Still am! It's hard to believe this is my hair!! Gabby gave me something I never thought I'd have!!! Hair! I have those luscious locks!! Today happened for a reason, I was able to get in with Gabby for a cut. However, I got so much more out of today than a cut; I got hair, I got confidence, I got a stylist! Thank you Gabby, you have no idea!

Lyons Studio
Im a client of 22 years, so is my husband (whom loves Kristi), and my 16 year old daughter. We get highlights, color, and cuts. I cant speak about rest of stylists but Kristi and Hoyt is very consistent, knowledgeable, accurate, and so VERY talented. They make a awesome team (and a fine looking couple). Now its just Kristi and Hoyt at Lyons Studio at new location on Perkins. But i HAVE to say, in past if one of their stylists goofed, people would write reviews as if it was them or whole salon. Each are their own individual stylists and if you are looking for a new hairstylists I only and highly recommend Kristi Lyons and also Hoyt Lyons who has cut our hair if Kristi was booked. I read others reviews, Really? Cmon some must be over exaggerating or just trying to cause trouble or maybe you are just a jealous person or a fired employee, dark purple hair? I know they wouldnt do that, they know way to much about the chemistry of haircolor. They are good, really good and they work hard. Good, honest, fun, talented hairstylists. I know alot of people who go to them and always pleased. People dont bash or makeup false things on this hairsrylists couple, Kristi and Hoyt are the real deal. So 5 stars from me.

Garrettneal Hair Salon
I was recommended there by my mother, but was not expecting much from the small studio by DeAngelos. But I was pleasantly surprised because everyone knew their clients names, family story and hair needs as they walked in the door. Everyone was a regular. They even recognized my last name as that of my mothers and remarked on how nice she is. And as a semi-socially awkward individual, I still felt very comfortable there. Then I was seated for a consultation where we really discussed what I would like, my daily routine etc. The washing of my hair was not rushed, and I swear it was the best head massage. She asked my permission to blow dry it, then straighten and then asked if she could curl it, just to see how it would look. She was nice, and she did a great job. I let her do what she wanted, and its probably the best hair cut for my face shape that I have ever gotten. My wash, cut ( I have long hair) and style cost 45$ which is not bad.In sum, it was a great experience, great cut, and I will be going back for every proceeding hair cut.

St. Christopher's Addiction Wellness Center
St. Christopher's saved my son's life. It is a safe, well staffed facility to help in getting your loved one on the right track. My son agreeing to seek treatment was a step in the right direction but choosing the best facility from the many choices was a very hard decision. The staff and the therapists are caring and well trained. My son was admitted due to alcohol and drug abuse, but ultimately they found these issues to be the result of an underlying long term mental health problem. He was treated for these issues as well as receiving treatment for the substance abuse. He is a much happier and well adjusted person now. He spent two months at the facility. St, Chris is not perfect, but for my son's needs it was wonderful. I recommend STC especially if your loved one has dual issues, mental as well as addiction. Be careful as many of the facilities we checked out focus on just the addiction issues and do not address the mental health issues that could be the underlying problem.

Criminal Justice Solutions
I had one of the worst experiences with the justice system ever here. I was supposed to get evaluated after completing courses for my simple marijuana possession charge. When I got there my counselor left for a smoke break even tho he doesn't smoke. I was left to fill out a test with an office clerk who had never evaluated anyone before. After I turned my test in I thought he would at least talk to me then but he just told me I had to come back and pay more money. They just work in tandem with the da's office to get more money out of u. In all I payed $200 to enroll in the program,$300 for the program, $285 to take my evaluation test and drug test, and another 300 to come back after this latest experience for who knows what cause I wasn't informed. I also saw that I could have taken the test online but no one informed me of that either. Bottom line id just get a lawyer before spending this type of money. And if ur arrested u still have to pay for the arrest record expungement.

St. Christopher's Addiction Wellness Center
We were in a major crisis with our son and faced what we thought to be a life or death situation. We did multiple searches on the internet, spoke to addiction experts and our physician and all kept saying St. Christophers. We spoke with Stephen in admissions and he was very helpful. He explained all available options to us to go to St. Christopher's. I have to admit the out of pocket costs were shocking! We took a chance and followed all recommendations of the staff. We learned so much about our son's illness, we learned what our part was in keeping him sick, and we all learned what we needed to do to get better. I think St. Christophers has changed us forever!! We are a functional family for the first time ever and we owe it all to St. Christophers

Mary's approach to career guidance is basic yet insightful - start with what your natural abilities, interests, and values - and let that guide your career path. Mary is passionate about helping her clients discover how to find a career or career path that suits them rather than prescribing a narrow list of jobs they should do. Her advice is insightful and she takes the time to answer all questions. I would recommend Mary to anyone who is unsure about their career path and even to those who are completely satisfied because she can help you uncover a hidden gem that you may have not known was there.

Studio Gabriella
Studio Gabriella is fabulous!! The atmosphere is really relaxing and inviting. The receptionist and other hair stylist are always super friendly and helpful too! Gabby is very easy to talk to and actually cares about your hair. I had pretty much given up on finding a hair stylist because it seemed like they were never able to obtain what I wanted. I decided to try Studio Gabriella and I will never go to another person. I absolutely love my cut and color everytime I walk out of her salon. I would highly recommend this salon! You won't be let down or walk out disappointed!

This is a good program. I loved everything but my doctor. She sucked. Dr. Susan Julius. She wouldnt give me her undivided attention for our appointments. Constantly put words in my mouth, because she wasn't paying attention. I never relapsed during the program. She had no trust in me when I was a a+ attendee. She also likes to push drugs on people. One of the newcomers who also had her, went to the hospital after taking all the drugs she pushed on him, the next day! STAY AWAY FROM DOCTOR SUSAN JULIUS, LOOK UP HER RECORD, IT'S INSANE!
Tips & Advices
Group counseling is when one or more counselors lead a group discussion, usually between five and 15 people. The group may focus on a shared experience or situation, and provide support and encouragement to the other attendees.
Each state defines its own requirements for what licenses and education are needed to be a counselor. It's common for counselors to have a bachelor's degree in psychology or a similar field, as well as a master's degree. After that, counselors should obtain their state license, and can move on to achieving other licenses like the:
  • National Certified Counselor (NCC) license
  • Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC) license
  • Master Addictions Counselor (MAC) license
  • Forensic Health Evaluators (FHE) license
  • Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) license
  • Certified Family Therapist (CFT) license
This all depends on the patient's goals and circumstances. Some people are happy with their results after just a few sessions; others continue to meet with their counselors for years. There is no right or wrong length of time to go to counseling.
Anyone can benefit from counseling services. Counseling can help you gain greater insight into yourself; deal with feelings of sadness, worry, depression or anxiety; as well as work out relationship problems, trauma or addiction. Not every type of counseling service works with every person.
Yes. Except in very specific situations, a counselor will never repeat conversations from a counseling session. Situations where information from sessions might be shared include:
  • If the counselor believes the patient might harm him or herself, or someone else.
  • If the counselor wants to get a second opinion on the patient's treatment. If this is the case, the counselor should seek the patient's written permission before consulting another professional.
