Bosthorus Resturant
Last night, our family of 4 had a great meal at the new Turkish restaurant on York Road. We ordered three appetizers—the falafel, baba ganoush, and Turkish “cigars” filled with cheese. We loved them all as well as the fresh pita that accompanied the baba ganoush (and our one complaint—they didn’t give us nearly enough—but they were quick to bring more when we asked). The texture of the baba ganoush was chunkier than I’ve had before, which I loved, but my oldest son didn’t love it as much as a smoother dip. The falafels were much smaller than I’ve ever seen, but they too were delicious—soft, tender, and perfectly flavored. They were served with hummus that was also thicker than the hummus I usually eat, but good and flavorful. My youngest son thought the “cigars” were especially divine. It’s hard to go wrong with buttery phyllo dough around a creamy cheese filling! For entrees, we had one chicken kabob, two mixed platters (with chicken, beef, lamb, and meatballs), and one adana shish kebab, ground veal and lamb on skewers. The boys (my 2 sons and husband) all agreed the adana shish kebab was the absolute best. They described it as well-spiced, but not too spicy, and tender. I enjoyed the chicken—it was seasoned and cooked perfectly. I just wish that there was more of it (and the pieces themselves were on the small side)! Most of our plates were dominated by rice and vegetables—which were great too.At the end of the meal, the owner came over to introduce himself, ask about our experience, and offer our boys chocolate wafer bars. He seemed genuinely interested in ensuring customers are happy and was passionate about his restaurant. We certainly hope he succeeds. Although the dishes we had were the same in name to those we get at other places, they were distinctly Turkish style (and so delicious!). There is definitely a need in our City’s restaurant scene for a place like this, and hopefully other Baltimoreans will agree!

Woodberry Kitchen
I'm hesitant to give any restaurants five stars, ever. Anywhere. But WK deserves it- from start to finish a meal at Woodberry is unlike any other in Baltimore. Unbelievable locally sourced produce, organic proteins and some of the best drinks I've had anywhere. Don't miss: The Gov't Mule cocktail and any of the brunch punch pitchers they serve. Also, must have their flatbreads and the CMP for dessert. Brunch is as good as dinner (shirred eggs and the bake shop in a basket- oh my!) and you'll need a reservation for both. Tip for families- we often head to WK right at 10am for brunch and can be in and out in less than an hour (that's the only time I find it to be a kid appropriate dining situation)

Pazo Restaurant
Surprised by Pazo- we love tapas and thought nothing could measure up to our beloved Amada in Philadelphia. Pazo comes close- fantastic meat and cheese plate, lots of seasonal menu items (zucchini and squash were big on our last visit) and a pretty spectacular wine list. We loved the arroz bomba, which was a perfect paella chock full of lobster and shellfish. The decor is a little on the cheesy side- I could do without wrought iron suns and a giant fresco on the wall, but the service is fantastic and the food won't disappoint.

The wait was a little longer than we expected on a Sunday afternoon. The Brunch was just over but the place was packed and very very noisy. I wore my ear plugs. The waiter encouraged me to get the flash fried calamari over my original choice. I found this under cooked. The breading was mostly fallen off and not cooked in the middle, gooey. I should have sent them back. The Manhattan Chowder was so so. The hamburger was good. On the plus size, the waiter and wait staff were fantastic.

Rocket to Venus
Great little bar in the heart of Hampden, cheap drinks and some pretty interesting bar food. Love the bulgogi, banh mi and mini veggie burgers (wimpies!). Diverse crowd, and lots of options for seating. Cleanliness is not RTV's strong suit. The bathrooms are grimy at best... Pee at home or wait to break the seal until you've left Hampden. Nary a nice bathroom in the whole hood. Don't miss: bulgogi and RTV's hair of the dog brunches!

Bo Brooks Restaurant
Hi -- I went to this restaurant for my birthday & the Lobster Imperial was fantastic !! We had the signature onion rings -- amazing !! But the downsize was the Grilled Salmon -- NO flavor @ all + Fried Oysters were not fried enough. The steamed crabs from the table near us smelled yummy -- crabs were from Texas (?) -- I did not see much for non seafood lovers or vegetarians to enjoy.

Silver Diner
Located in BWI.Sign recommends having at least 45 minutes for sit down service. They do offer a counter for togo service. My server was in the weeds which meant it took about 15 minutes for the manager to come over and cover down and get me a drink and menu.Food was good and service was only lacking because he was swamped.Tables have a juke box.

Riptide By The Bay
I went into this tavern because the thames oyster house is closed. We ordered the Nachos, local oysters and crab cakes. They are amazing!! The nachos is spicy and very yum, the oyster is so fresh and great, no mention to the famous crab cakes(I love the side salads with the crab cakes). I'm glad that I chose this place!
