Dr. Michael M Dvorkin, MD
What a wonderful doctor!!! Mom was experiencing excruciating pain in right hip, had a scan and diagnosed with a mild fractured hip and arthritis. She was referred to two orthopedic surgeons. We called the 1st doctor and was told she couldn't get an appointment for two weeks. Then we called Dr Dvorkin's office, explained the situation to receptionist, who put us on hold and talked to the Doc. She got back on the phone and said come in now....Wow!!! Mom went to the office, he reviewed the scan and said he could do surgery that Monday, this was on Tuesday. He was willing to rearrange his schedule. Being skeptical, at 80, and never meeting this Dr. before, she said she would wait. We researched Dr D and found he was very reputable. Two weeks later, Dec. 5, 2016 she went under the knife. He did such a great job, she was up the next day, walking on a walker and was released within 2 days. She was off her pain meds within 4 days. Today, Jan 5th was 30 days, our 2nd follow up and she is doing great! Dr. D is so informative (explaining every detail) and he is so caring and understanding. His staff is very remarkable also, attentive and friendly. They went the extra mile initially talking to the doctor and scheduling Mom right away. Mom was under a lot of stress deciding whether to live with the pain or get the surgery. She is thankful she made the right decision, having the surgery and getting the right doctor. You rock Dr. Dvorkin....Thank you!!!

Paul M Apostolo MD PA
His humor and approach to medicine relieves fears you may have, he is quick to respond to any emergency and keeps his patients informed. If an appointment needs rescheduled, it is done without hesitation. I have found that even if you haven't seen him for several years, he remembers who you are, makes you feel more like a friend instead of patient. And even if you haven't even seen him as a patient yet that day; his hello, will help you relax until you feel better just by saying hello and seeing his smile. RNW

Health Associates
I would like to say this practice is composed of wonderful caring people... For example, Shirley Critzer, Practice Manager, is a thoughtful, altruistic professional who went out of her way [and beyond her job description] to help and inspire my 7-year old daughter's medical career aspirations. This is a perfect example of effective medical practice leadership in the community through inspiration, selfless service and encouragement. Thank you, Shirley!

Tips & Advices
Emergency care facilities can treat infants and children. Roughly 16 percent of emergency patients are infants and children, so the medical professionals at these facilities typically have strong experience in pediatric emergency care.
The average wait time will depend on the type of emergency care facility.. Wait times typically average less than 20 minutes at an urgent care facility. At a hospital-based emergency care facility that treats life-threatening conditions, wait times can take as long as an hour or more.
Board certification is not required for emergency care facilities. However, the top facilities are often board certified. At hospitals, many emergency care centers require that their physicians be board certified as a qualification for employment. Two boards that handle this type of certification are the American Board of Medical Specialties and the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine.
Emergency care facilities include those that offer urgent care, and some urgent care facilities offer certain primary care services. At these facilities, patients are usually evaluated upon arrival, and a determination is made as to whether the problem requires emergency care, urgent care, or primary care.
Some medical tests and scans are performed at emergency care facilities. These facilities may perform select X-rays and blood tests if this is deemed necessary to assist your treatment. However, the range of medical tests and scans offered is much more limited than those offered as part of standard hospital care.
