Sears Appliance Repair
scheduled for the MORNING...asked to be the FIRST ONE on the list.Promised they would TRY. Service personnel came at 4 PM in the AFTERNOON. Fixed washer but only gave me a 20% discount for being LATE. Service personnel was professional and polite...just wish they had CALLED and kept me aware of the time of arrival.Lost an entire of work - PLUS A VERY LARGE REPAIR BILL. Phone person was very unsympathetic - no compassion. Bordering on rude....BUT tried to sell me an insurance package! Can't be on time but can sell you an insurance package???? Really????

I had an appointment for 10 am to 2 pm. I started getting notices around noon that I could expect service between 2:45 and 4:45. It then varied thru the afternoon but eventually they came at 3:20 after the serviceman called me at 2:15 saying he would be there in 20-25 minutes. When they finally arrived, they were very professional and fixed my washer. I do not understand why they even make appointments when they pay no attention to the time.

Sears Appliance Repair
The technician was extremely knowledgeable and fixed my range from top to bottom. He made sure everything was working properly since it hadn't been set right when we bought it. He was very pleasant, friendly, and thorough. I am glad I have service contracts on my appliances so I can use Sears Service whenever needed. He was a 10 out of 10!!

Tips & Advices
Aftermarket replacement parts can be perfectly safe and reliable, but be sure to do your research. If replacing a more integral piece, such as washing machine’s water pump or a thermostat for a busted water heater, it might be best to purchase new.
Replacement parts generally come with warranties extending anywhere from 30 days to five years, depending on the original price, the nature of the fix and the age of the part itself.
If you’re seeking new parts repair companies will generally mark up their prices slightly--particularly at a major national retailer. However, used parts are typically discounted.
Cheaper used appliance parts can be found online or at many local, independently owned retailers, along with ecommerce sites such as eBay. Major retailers, however, generally limit their selection to unused, full-priced options.
Second-hand appliance parts are generally anywhere between 50-75% cheaper than new ones, but warranties might not extend as long and the parts may be less reliable or come with a shorter lifespan. Be sure to research the source of any second-hand parts to ensure the dealer is reputable and the part itself reliable.
