Churches in Baltimore, MD
1.Holy Rosary Church
408 S Chester St1.44 mi Baltimore, MD Catholic ChurchesChurches & Places of Worship
I went to school there back in the 70's and as an adult I still attend this church. I no longer live in the area, but that would not stop me from attending here.\r This church is beautiful, and what I really like is they still practice alot of the old time beliefs that alot of the other Catholic Churches no longer do.\r Do not take my word for it, go to a mass here and you will not be disappointed.\r

rb2400, you are reviewing the incorrect church.... GTBC has had the same pastor for 21 years... and he has SONS, not daughters... I'm not aware of ANYONE ever being fired... you must be talking about another church with the same name...

You have a church on Washington Blvd (1305) Baltimore,Md. Every couple of days you give out food thru out the area around the church. I think it's great that you do that. But my problem is why only to Black people? Mr. Chambers kepts what he wants than goes only to Black residents to give away the rest. I myself has ask for somethings but was told that the things were already spoken for. Is this your message that God only helps Black People? People (White) has told that if you wanted som ething that you have to go to the church cause Mr. Chambers not going to give you anything if you are white.

Evergreen is a community church that is comfortable to be in. You feel the spirit when you enter the doors. The congregation is very people oriented, and the pastor is down to earth. If you visit once, you will return. You will leave the church talking about how friendly everyone is or was to you. The word is brought forth in a way that anyone can understanding. Evergreen loves to worship the Lord.
7.First Greater Harvest Church of God Apsotolic
1508 N Fulton Ave2.19 mi Baltimore, MD Church of GodChurches & Places of Worship
At first this church and pastor are extremely warm and will shower a new comer with tons of attention while boosting their ego about how much God means for them 2 do in the church. They will promise unconditional love and are especially appealing if you don't have strong family ties. Then you will notice that you must be involved at every church activity or you are covertly manipulated into feeling like you are a bad Christian. You will hear more and more about how submitting to pastor Mitchell is actually submitting to God. Therefore if you don't follow his every instruction for your life including where you move, where you work, who you marry and so on you will be chastised and also shamed. Love will be withdrawn. Finally, if you pay close enough attention to the church as a whole, you will find that everyone is committing adultery like it is going out of style. While the pastor could argue he loves everyone which is why he doesn't judge these people, he is hippocritical as he tells the wives it is their daily their husband is committing adultery and if they kept up their physical appearances, pleased their man every day and was perfectly submissive, this wouldn't be happening to her. In addition the wives are told not to tell their families or outsiders what is going on. The husbands and adulterases are ignored and the wives are constantly told how they must do better. There are some good people in this church, unfortunately they have been brainwashed to not question anything leaving leadership unchecked. Finally, there will be offering after offering in the church and lectures about will a man rob God? Much emphasis is placed on serving the pastor as if he is God but he gives nothing but indoctrination in return. Hope this was helpful. P.s.-anyone who questions the pastor or leaves the church is demonized.
