Vascular and Leg Center
My husband and I are both patients of Dr. Samarrany, (aka Dr. Sam), and we both agree he's OUTSTANDING! This doctor will actually take the time to listen to what you have to say, AND he'll have an actual conversation with you about it! He has a great personality, very disarming, reassuring, and very smart. He has a quick mind and will be ready with a plan to get you feeling better before you walk out that door. Dr. Sam will explain what's going on, answer your questions, and have a plan on how you all are going to proceed. He's a heart specialist, with a heart. If you have opportunity to get your treatment from Dr. Sam, without question, do it. AND if that weren't already enough, the office/supporting staff is great, warm, friendly, and don't like it's Thank you for taking the time to read my review. THANK YOU TO EVERY ONE AT THE God Bless.

Rao, Anuradha, MD
Absolute Best Pediatrician in the Universe!!!Dr. Rao is the most compassionate , caring ,brilliant , kind doctor ! I unexpectedly became the mother of 3 babies over the course of 2 months - what a blessing but I was overwhelmed. Dr. Rao taught me how to be a mother! She easily calmed my fears, and we developed a plan of care for each child . She quickly figured out that my youngest had a milk allergy . Wow - he was so sick and Dr. Rao used her brilliant mind and excellent training to heal him . Dr. Rao understands that we parents are her patients as well . We need to understand our child's plan of care . Dr. Rao ALWAYS takes the time we need . She is very busy b/c she is an excellent doctor ! Dr. Rao will refer to other specialists as needed. I trust Dr. Rao completely , and am so grateful she healed my babies ! We love Dr. Rao!!

Mishkind, Mark T, MD
Last month, Dr. Mishkind removed a modest benign mass from my middle back. This was a very simple procedure. However, I must commend his skillful professionalism, and sympathetic approach, which included, among other things: pre-procedure evaluation; exploration of needs and options; explanation of risks; performance of procedure with "running explanation" of progress; superb use of local anesthesia; swift completion of task with no pain; use of "re-absorbable sutures; post-procedure follow up; consistently expert and detailed, written documentation throughout. His assistant, Nurse Theresa Moore, was also skillful and caring in her ministrations. This was a "little thing". However, I do not doubt that for any more complex, or risky, procedure, I would have received superb care from this dedicated surgeon. Unreservedly recommended.

Valley Medical Group Inc
I have been going to this Clinic for over 15 years. No one or anything is perfect in this world, but at least everyone here trys and listens to you. I have had very good service and recommend my friends to go there all the time. I like that they have interns and are willing to help train others. It may take little longer when the interns are being trained, but I like them to take their time. It gives you a chance to remember all your questions. Dr. Alverez and his staff are great, but far from perfect. And thats why I like them so much. There have been times where I had a difference of opinion and after talking with the manager, I was satisfied with the outcome. So if you want a PERFECT medical clinic, good luck!! But if you want good caring service, go to this clinic.

Rao, Anuradha, MD
Dr Rao is the most wonderful, compassionate, understanding doctor I have met in my whole life. She goes out of her way to reasearch if necessary... She stays in close communication with other specialists of the child to work as a team. She had even come to the office to see my child during an emergency while the office is closed during non-office hours. More than a doctor she quickly becomes a dear friend. Unfortunately because she is also a great mom, she wants to keep her practice small so she can spend time with her own children and therefore she is currently not taking new clients. But it doesn't hurt to call and check with the recepcionist. I feel so blessed to have my children under her care...

Edward L Nichols MD
Dr. Nichols is my primary physician and I think he has been very thorough in treating my conditions. Whenever I go the wait time is fairly good, and the staff is friendly. Also I would like to comment on the reviewer below making a comment about the practice being christian. While Dr. Nichols may choose to run his practice in this way you, you can not discriminate when hiring someone based on their relationship choices or beliefs. I think it is unfair to right a review in that way or judge the doctor based on his staffs outside of work choices.

Shukla DR Pankaj
The doctors are great!! I wouldn't want to go anywhere else. The issue is the ladies that sit at the front desk they Need to to work on there professionalism they are really rude when talking to the customers!!! That's make people wanna turn around. I have been going here for years now and I would think it would have changed but no the same o thing! Another customer was really upset in the hallway how the front desk spoke with her. The doctors really need to check there employees attitude.

Hansa Nick MD
I was referred by another Dr. who said this group of doctors is the only one he would refer his patients to in Bakersfield. After going through two other doctors I finally found one that know how the whole respiratory system works and he said no lung problems but the constant drainage from my nose was the issue. That was resolved and the lungs and coughing are 100% better in two weeks after fighting the problem for over 6 months..

was referred to this doctor a month ago and he is by far the best doctor I have ever seen. I am considering in having him be my primary doctor. I am just wowed in the time he took in the room with me. His staff was great, very nice. His medical assistant is Sheila and she was wonderful. Every time I talk to her regarding my referral to the neurologist she is on top of it. Very nice recommend him to all of you.
Tips & Advices
An osteopathic physician practices a comprehensive form of medicine that takes a holistic approach to a person's health. Instead of specializing in one system or set of organs, an osteopathic specialist focuses on the health of the total body. This includes evaluating environmental factors that affect a person's well-being.
Many family doctors deliver babies, especially in rural areas without a nearby OB/GYN. However, most family doctors only deliver for low-risk pregnancies and do not perform cesarean sections.
Family nurse practitioners are highly educated nurses able to provide medical care individually or with the assistance of another professional. Family nurse practitioners obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and then take the National Council Licensure Examination to begin working as a registered nurse. Then, they continue their education and obtain a Master of Science in Nursing. Following that, they become certified in family practice via the American Nurses Credentialing Center of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, allowing them to become certified family nurse practitioners.
Some family doctors provide immunizations while others do not. Typically, doctors who work as part of a large practice are more likely to offer vaccines in-house. Doctors in offices of one to two physicians are more likely to refer patients to a public health department or other immunization provider.
A physician's assistant is a person qualified to perform routine medical services. This individual is professionally licensed and certified, but they may not have the extensive med school education of a doctor. That said, PAs do complete almost three years of postgraduate study and more than 2,000 hours of rotations.
