G Street Family Dentistry
Best experience I have ever had with a Dentist. She was the most kind person you could ever ask for. I had a wisdom tooth extracted over 10 years ago by another Dentist and it was horrible I had to have my jaw bone cut open and scraped, so I have held off going back. Being in severe pain over the last few months leaving work due to pain. Started off at western dental. After 2 months they never fixed my pain I spent 1200 dollars on fancy tooth brushes they told me I needed and cleanings. They sent an emergency referral for an oral surgeon, 6 weeks later said it was not covered by my insurance. I called the Insurance and yes it is covered so the insurance lady pulled me from Western dental due to the amount of time I had been left in pain and an appointment was made to G street family dentistry. Following day to my appointment, was greeted by the receptionist and the Dr. Right away the Dr. Asked me what was going on she listened to me and was concerned about my pain. She assured me she would help me and take care of my pain. Dental assistant was friendly and kind made me feel comfortable taking her time with my x-rays. Dr. Came right in and was very sympathetic to my situation. She said it has to come out I was shaking in fear, explained my previous experience she calmed me. I was numbed with topical ointment first, gently numbed me with the injection waited, came back to finish I couldn't even feel the needle when she came back I braced myself for the poke but nothing. She began the extraction, again braced myself waiting for the pain I started moaning in anticipation of the pain to come, she stopped and asked me if I was okay waited for me to gather myself, she began again explaining every step then she stopped, asked what was wrong she said it was done I was in shock I felt nothing.I began to cry, she comforted me with her kind words I couldn't believe it. She was amazing, gentle and kind. I couldn't ask for anything better then the care and service I received.

Bakersfield Dental Group and Orthodontics
My husband and I have been going to Bakersfield Dental for about a year now. Recently I received a bill for almost $300 for services that my insurance would not pay. When my husband had the procedure done, we paid our part of the bill and we were told the insurance would take care of the rest. Well, the insurance didn't because this procedure was only covered every 2 years. If we had known this from the beginning, we would have never had the procedure done. I wrote to Bakersfield Dental Group and they reversed the charges. I was so happy. They are a business you can work with and who will help you out if need be. Thank you Bakersfield Dental Group. You are the best.

Chiao-Tze Hwang DDS
I have been to several dentists in town, and was not satisfied. Dr Hwang was recommended to me by a friend and i found a dental office that I am totally satisfied with. This doctor is very caring, very gentle, very patient, and describes exactly what she is doing as she is working. The office staff contributes to the experience by being very friendly always happy and helpful, putting you at ease as soon as you walk into the office. They schedule appointments to allow plenty of time for each patient so your visit is never rushed. I would highly recommend Dr Hwang for your dental needs!

Great Smile Family Dentistry
I've been shopping around for dentist around my area and found dr. Roldan. I've talked to her twice and seem nice . She was supposed to get back to me in a week about services but never heard back to even tell me she can't help me nor she can. I Left messages with her associate still. No call back. I understand that she has other patients to see but I a simple phone call from her associate to tel me what's going on.So I have decided to go other options. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!!!!

Five Star Dentistry
I had an extreme fear of the dentist and because of that, I went years without a visit to the dentist office. Then my husband began going to Five Star and assured me that Dr. Alas was super caring. I then made it my goal to give my teeth the care they needed and gave my trust to Dr. Alas and the Five Star team. Now, I look forward to going to dentist! Dr.Alas is kind, gentle, and attentive, as is everyone on his team. Thank you for making my dentist experience a positive one!

Choon Sung Park Dmd
Such an excellent family dentist! Our kids loved him and my husband and I were impressed by the good-natured staff and thorough examination. Dr. Park made our first visit exceedingly enjoyable. He was very good with the kids, who are normally uneasy about health related check ups. He took the time to answer all of our questions and concerns. Our family highly recommends Dr. Park if you are looking for a family dentist whose first priorities are your comfort and safety.

Edward E Dove DDS PC
Everyone is extremely welcoming and caring. My son doesn't really like strangers but he immediately connected with the doctor and he was really playful with him. Filling went well for the most part. I was very nervous about it but after seeing how gentle the staff and the doctor were with him him I was more at ease. Being in the room with my son also helped a lot. I had some bad experiences in other offices prior to visiting doctor Dove.

Atalla Family Dentistry
Over a year ago, my then 12 year old daughter had a skating accident. All four of her front teeth shattered. Basically, she lost her pretty smile. As her mother, I was broken hearted and concerned. However, we were glad to have found Dr. Atalla. He's knowledgeable and kind. Best of all, he gave my daughter a smile. As she gets ready to get a more permanent one we will be going back to see Dr. Atalla. I strongly recommend him.

Adept Dental Group
I absolutely HATE going to the dentist! That said, I actually enjoy parts of my visits to Adept Dental. They are very professional and do whatever it takes to make me comfortable and kind of relaxed. Everyone I come into contact with at Adept are just really friendly and kind. I go every 6 months and that's saying a lot as I stress out when I go! They make it easy on me and so I keep going. My teeth are much happier too!!

I love this office!!! I have always been terrified of going to the dentist. The staff were awesome though!!! They really helped me work through my fear and made me feel calm and safe. The dentist did such an amazing job delivering some not so happy news and then extracting a very difficult tooth!!! I will be bringing my whole family here!!! I'm no longer scared of the dentist!
Tips & Advices
  • Pick Your Plan: Most people purchase three main varieties, usually through their employers.
    • An indemnity or fee-for-service plan means you'll have to pay for annual deductibles and co-insurance payments out of pocket.
    • A preferred provider organization is less costly, and you choose from a network of dentists. However, PPOs have some limitations and accompanying deductibles.
    • A dental health maintenance organization plan limits you to just a few choices of dentists, and one doctor handles all of your oral care needs. However, these HMO are usually much less costly.
  • PPO plans and dental HMOs work with only a select number of doctors. While that usually means fewer costs, it also means you have less choice in the dentist who can treat you Before purchasing the plan, you'll receive a list of dentists in each network. From there, you can then pick a plan with doctors who meet your standards and requirements.
  • When picking a plan, you need to look at just how much you'll pay for each and every service. For instance, some plans won't cover your fillings or X-rays, while others may charge more or less for a crown or tooth extraction. You don't want to be caught off-guard by unforeseen charges.
  • If you're truly comfortable with a dentist and you feel he or she can be an ally in your ongoing oral care regimen, then consider signing a plan to just keep that dentist available. That means potentially deal with costs and other insurance-related factors that you might have wanted to. If need be, you might be able to work with the dentist's office to address some of the plan-specific concerns.
  • Ask family, friends or colleagues for recommendations. They will be able to provide details about a dentist's demeanor, operating style and approach to patient care
  • Meet with any prospective dentists to ask about what treatments they perform most often, procedures they're not as familiar with, what accreditation they have or any organizations they belong to and how their offices handles insurance and payments.
  • Consider driving distance, location and office hours.
  • Check With Your State Board: The state board can outline what requirements your dentist must meet and offer information about any discrepancies in the their background and if he or she has faced any disciplinary actions.
  • Remember Your Angles - When brushing your teeth, always place the brush at a 45-degree angle..
  • Don't Forget the Tongue – Your tongue is the largest source of bacteria. Brush it front to back and don't forget the sides.
  • Floss Everyday - Each time you floss, have at least 18 inches of floss available. For optimal control, hold the floss between your thumbs and forefingers.
  • Watch What You Eat - Sugar, alcohol and coffee contain phosphorus. While some can prove beneficial, too much of this chemical can eat away at your teeth and gums.
  • Keep in Mind the Mouthwash - Mouthwash can be helpful if used to supplement proper brushing and flossing. Most mouthwash brands contain chlorine dioxide, a chemical that targets the majority of oral bacterial strains.
Yellow teeth are the result of a number of bad habits, mainly smoking, drinking too much coffee and improper nutrition. Many dentists will treat with a whitening procedure.
These painful bumps are the result of irritation to the soft tissue of your mouth. These sores can make brushing almost impossible. There are a number of different causes for sores, including anemia or a vitamin B-12 deficiency. Your doctor will have to examine the bump, find its cause and then develop a specific treatment plan, including the use of corticosteroids to reduce inflammation or antimicrobial mouthwash.
