The Artful Dentist
Let me start off by saying that I feel like I have been assaulted verbally. This needs to get your attention. Everything was going fine with the staff, very nice. But then George Daszko came in to finalize my routine visit. This guy literally berated me. He didn't like my flossing-numbers so he said my flossing was "like I took a shower once a year". But that's polite compared to what he does later. He asked when my last cleaning was but answered his own question by saying "what's it been, like 3 years?". And it gets crazier. He doesn't like when customers don't fully understand how LHI and the Army Reserve dental, and civilian dental programs work. I told him the Army Reserves covers me for my dental exams and checkups and procedures and all that important stuff. Which I was mistaken, apparently. Here's where it gets out of control. He starts in on me, SCOLDING me saying "I don't HAVE see you. I don't HAVE to even talk to you. I don't HAVE to give you any brochures. All I'm required to do is verify that you are deployable. That's it!". I don't even know what else to say about this matter. Something was not right with this man's morning but never ever take it out on a customer. Y'all can now make an informed decision when looking for dental care. If you want to be treated like a decent human being, do not, DO NOT go to see George Daszko at the Artful Dentist.

Lifetime Smiles
Charged 1000 in fees that were never mentioned until after the fact. They were not documented or authorized. Multiple unexplained other charges, among those s $299 fee for an after hours apt that did not take place and was never mentioned. Told me I needed a dental implant when that was not necessary. Refused to anwser my questions about charges ect. Worst experience with any business, much less a healthcare provider, I've ever had.

VCA Lakeline Animal Hospital
I've been doing business with Lakeline Animal Care for 14 years. I find pricing is competitive and doctors are very knowledgeable. Oliver Engel is my favorite. I realize that you have to make money to keep the lights on so I never bitch about the cost to keep my Blue Heelers happy.

Savita DVM, is amazing. I really like the way she relays information in regards to any health issues. She is very honest and forthcoming. I am more than confident when taking Chelsea Rose to see her.

Balcones Animal Hospital
We have been going to this clinic for 25+ years and have always felt our dogs received amazing care. Most recently, our 12 year old dachshund had benign growth in her toes. Dr Wood was able to remove all but one toe and her pad so she can keep her leg! Thank you to both of the Dr. Woods and their very caring staff!

Anderson Mill Animal Clinic
The doctors are in it for the money and will do whatever they can to make the most money from you. I used to work for them for nearly a year and quit because the management is rude to clients as well as employees, not to mention the kennel staff is not well trained and do not take well care of the boarders! Please do yourself a favor and do not go to Anderson mill, there are plenty of vet clinics in the area that are far better and more professional.

Vida Dental
I don't like how they wouldn't honor the $100 off deal they have for new clients for my teeth whitening. The deal said for "any dental service". The small lady said she "wouldnt allow it" to get approved. Why offer it if they are not going to honor it? Just because my wife is already a patient? I'm still a new patient to your business and could gladly go some where else. Also, the small lady wouldnt sell me another teeth whitening kit to take home. She just said no in a firm tone and didnt explain why. The doctor is really nice tho and thorough with his work. Explains things really well but i think the front dest needs lots of work.
Tips & Advices
Most 24-hour clinics do not allow owners to stay with their pets overnight. However, many do have specific visiting hours or will let owners see their pets at any point during the day. In addition, owners can call most clinics at any time for an update on their pet's well being.
  • Important phone numbers, especially those of the the veterinary clinic, the animal hospital or emergency clinic, and the poison control center
  • A book detailing pet first-aid steps
  • Copy of medical records
  • Nylon leash
  • Muzzle (only use if pet is not vomiting and has no difficulty breathing)
  • Absorbent gauze
  • Nonlatex disposable gloves
  • Scissors
  • Tweezers
  • Nail clippers
  • Digital thermometer
  • Sterile saline solution
  • Hydrogen peroxide (to induce vomiting only at the recommendation of a veterinarian
  • Milk of magnesia (to absorb poison only at the recommendation of a veterinarian)
Find a 24-hour animal hospital that provides emergency services within your area. Keep the facility's contact information in a place that's easy to locate, such as the refrigerator, address book, or smartphone. Most veterinary clinics operate on standard business hours and are not equipped to handle emergencies.
Veterinary clinics operate on a smaller scale than animal hospitals. The latter are more likely open 24 hours and provide emergency services. The former generally operate on typical office hours and only perform wellness exams and minor surgeries. Veterinary clinics also do not generally perform laboratory tests on site.
The specifics vary depending on the type of visit. For a wellness exam, bring:
  • Medical records
  • The type or brand of food the pet eats
  • Medication (including flea, tick, and heartworm medication).
If the animal needs medical treatment, the following may be helpful depending on the situation:
  • Fresh stool sample
  • Vomit sample
  • Video of the pet engaging in abnormal behavior
  • Substance the pet may have ingested
